Hello everyone,
Here is Charles Schumer's info:

NYC fax: 212 486 7693
NYC phone 212 486 7693

Albany fax: 518 431 4076
Alban phone 518 431 4070

His website: www.schumer.senate.gov
I hope that instead of debating on this site you go and YOU AND ALL YOUR FRIENDS IMMEDIATELY PROTEST HIS POSITION ON TALK RADIO
I ALREADY sent my letter.
This is one of the most "proactive" blogs I have seen. I like what I see on it.And I will be back so keep on it. Yes, you had better pull your kids out of school immediately. And also, hold on to those guns. And the bibles. Anyway, have a nice day all.
If you have any other realistic ideas how to fight this censorship post them here please. I love talk radio and so does my 85 year old dad. He also will protest. We may have to do more than send faxes but let's at least start this way.

Update from Broadcasting & Cable:

Schumer Comments Prompt New Fairness Doctrine Concerns

National Religious Broadcasters say his comments "foreshadowed an intolerance of ideas"

By John Eggerton

Comments by New York Democratic Senator Charles Schumer have provided new urgency to talk radio's and others' concerns about the reimposition of the fairness doctrine under a Democrat-controlled government.

While President-elect Barack Obama has told B&C twice through a top aide that he has no interest in bringing the doctrine back, the same apparently cannot be said for other powerful Democrats including Schumer. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has not ruled it out, either.

In an interview on Fox that was getting radio airplay Wednesday, Schumer said that the same people who say the FCC should be able to regulate "pornography" on the air don't want it to intervene to promote fairness and balance, calling that inconsistent. The doctrine, jettisoned by the FCC in 1987 as unconstitutional, required broadcasters to air both sides of controversial issues. Its demise let to the rise of opinionated, conservative talkers like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

The National Religious Broadcasters, for one, was concerned enough about Schumer's comments to issue a press release Wednesday saying it "foreshadowed an intolerance of ideas."

NRB, which supports the FCC's indecency crackdown, took issue with Schumer linking the two.

“I was stunned by Senator Schumer’s suggestion that by keeping filth off the air, the federal government has somehow become empowered to take over the control of legitimate programming content of broadcasters," said Craig Parshall, senior VP and general counsel for NRB and author of its brief supporting the FCC on indecency enforcement. "That paints a very grim picture for the future of broadcasting freedoms, particularly for Christian broadcasters.

"We see nothing inconsistent about permitting the FCC to rid the airwaves of that kind of gratuitous indecency that Justice Scalia referred to in oral argument as having contributed to the ‘coarsening’ of America, but at the same time opposing, as NRB has, the return of the dreaded Fairness Doctrine. Free Speech should never be sacrificed on the altar of a false choice."

He said that neither the Supreme Court nor the Constitution makes censoring "politically incorrect" ideas the quid pro quo for being able to regulate "profanity and smut" on broadcast TV and radio.

http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/CA6611851.html

See? The annointed one doesn't want it, but if Pelosi and Schumer push it through, of course he'll feel obligated to sign it…

Fascism always bats left.

Schumer’s a fool with a shallow ‘moral equivalence’ argument.

Especially when ‘political speech’ is one of the foundational principles which the First Amendment sought to protect.

I’m pretty sure porn ain’t mentioned in any of the Federalist papers or the tome ‘Two Treatise on Civil Govt.’

The whole point of these negative liberties (right O-Man?) was freedom of public discourse, not prurient interests.

That nonsense wasn’t pursued till much later in the twentieth century, but even now, narrow categories are drawn by the court to regulate ‘obscene’ speech, pictures or actions.

Those pursuits are totally distinct from free enterprise & public discourse as it relates to citizens and their government which is what these Leftist numb skulls really want to regulate.

Schumer’s a tool.

1sttofight,

I genuinely believe "Fair and Balanced" refers to Fox attempting to "balance" liberal media reportage with conservative media reportage. They never exactly claimed to give equal time to all viewpoints (and if anyone thinks they do, I invite you to try to stare at Alan Colmes' face for longer than ten seconds), but they have on several occasions referred to themselves as the sole antidote to the liberal media. Anyway, that's not me trying to make some clever re-interpretation, I've just always seen their slogan that way.

With the Democrats getting a free ride from the press and being favored in movies and music, how on earth can they see talk radio as a threat? Or maybe it's since they can't get people to listen otherwise, they might as well force it.

According to Rush, the Black Panthers are blocking doors to at least one precinct in Philadelphia, they told a citizen no matter what "blacks will win" and "they are tired of white supremacy"

Where the hell is ACORN, that sure seems like voter intimidation to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems as though every time someone goes on Fox News and quotes back "Fair and Balanced" with a knowing wink, it's clear they're not aware what Fox actually means by "Fair and Balanced." Maybe it's only obvious to me.

As I stated in my other blog on this -

Good question . . . how does pornography work on the radio? What a moron!

If this should come to pass, my next question is what color uniforms will nObama’s National Civilian Security Force be wearing when they come to TRY to take away my firearms?

Even Hellen Keller could see what is in store for this country if the Commiecrats gain control! Keep your powder dry people!
