Sheehan Out-Fasts, Out-Dances Gandhi

The longest Mahatma Gandhi ever fasted was for 21 days, in a hunger strike for Hindu-Muslim unity in September 1924.

On July 4th, Cindy Sheehan began a proclaimed two month fast. She announced to the press that she would "drink only water" throughout the summer.

(Mother Sheehan has subsequently admitted to partaking of "smoothies" of fruit juice and protein powder.)

The following photos of Cindy Sheehan were taken while she was on days 21 and 22 of her "hunger strike."

Compare and contrast:

Surely it must be the righteousness of her cause that keeps her so in the pink.

This tubby whore never ever fasted. She did however, lie through her teeth about just about everything. The snag is a lard ass lazy snot who is basking in her own self importance. Ever notice she only appears on real slow news days? So now she goes back to Crawford….and after Bush is no longer president…then what? She will own property in Crawford….wow. What a way to spend your dead son’s insurance money! This emotionally bankrupt husk of a human being is a giant waste of cells. She is a moron. Simply a stupid freakin moron. Delusional to the end I guess…..but she does fit with the left though….like a tub of lard fits in a bakery.

I think the comparative photos are just really funny. Good job.

“An embassy official told her he’d get her some face time with Al-Maliki if she moved away from the embassy and ended her hunger strike. “So we moved and ended our fast,” Sheehan told The News’ Ken Bazinet.”

    I hadn’t seen that either.

So the troops are home and all war is over forever?

(Of course since it was reported in the Daily News it probably isn’t true.)

Thanks, 1st. Pass the kleenex…I’ll work on that lump in my throat.

A bit early….but a little just to take the edge off.

And, SJ, you continue to amaze! Commentary and “covers”, both.

  7. Warmonger Infidel

That spare-tire in the pinko top is really disgusting. However, in solidarity with the snaggo’s cause, I’m only going to have 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 4 sausages and 2 pieces of sour dough toast with my coffee and OJ this morning. I could have more but I really want to be part of the fast (weight-gain) team.

  8. Exeter

    You’re the bard, SJ!

  9. OLDPUPPYMAX

Why do so many of these whack jobs have to be so damned ugly. It’s bad enough we have to listen to their assinine drivel, but to be exposed to photos of this shapeless lump, day after day. Why can’t a few truly caring people air-brush in some well placed paper bags! I’m no Errol Flynn, but then I don’t plaster my picture in front of people on a daily basis.

  10. stevierae54

Good one, per usual, SJ!!!!! You just keep getting better and better!

Now I will have “Happy Together” running through my head the rest of the evening…..

Won’t You Please Come to Camp Casey

So your brother’s bound and gagged
And they’ve chained him to a chair,
Won’t you please come to Chicago just to sing.
In a land that’s known as freedom
How can such a thing be fair?
Won’t you please come to Chicago for the help that we can bring.
    We can change the world
    Rearrange the world.
It’s dying - to get better!

    - Chicago, Graham Nash

This song was written almost 40 years ago when it also seemed that our world was in flames and dying. Thousands of people heeded the call to head to Chicago to demonstrate at the DNC. I can remember, even as an 11-year-old, watching the TV in horror as members of the Chicago PD ferociously beat protesters with their night sticks and I was revolted when my friend Genie’s mom, Maxine, yelled: “Hit the goddamn hippies harder!” I can also remember thinking that the people who were there were extremely brave and they must have cared deeply about ending the war in Vietnam. When I travel the country and talk to people in the anti-war movement, many of them say: “If there were only a draft, people would get off of their butts and protest the war like we (they) did during Vietnam.”

I don’t believe in giving people an “out” by using the draft excuse. By 1968, 30,000 of our troops had been needlessly slain and countless numbers of unfortunate “collateral-damage” Vietnamese citizens had also been brutally slaughtered. College students who had their deferments were shutting down administrative offices to protest their schools’ defense research and collaboration with the war profiteers. Martin Luther King Jr. and Bobby Kennedy had already been assassinated and there were over 50,000 people who converged on Chicago to protest the “National Death Party” rubber-stamping another murderous four years of Lyndon Johnson’s war. The draft and the burning of draft cards, most notably by the Berrigan brothers, was just one of the issues. Graham Nash wasn’t about to be drafted when he wrote the song “Chicago”: people just cared. While students were protesting to make the world better and soldiers were being ordered to go to Vietnam, against their wills, George was AWOL from the Alabama Air National Guard. He must have gotten tired of playing pilot -or maybe his codpiece was on too tight.

Today, just a little more than 3 years into the bloody conflict in Iraq, 2,579 of our soldiers have been killed, and the collateral civilian damage reaches into the hundreds of thousands, with over 6,000 Iraqis slain just in the past two blood-soaked months. Our brothers are being “bound and gagged” and “chained to chairs” in Guantanamo, which, contrary to what George said about wanting to shut it down, is being expanded and renovated so the sadists can carry out new and improved forms of torture. Israel continues to receive US support in slaughtering Lebanese civilians to consolidate its power in the region.

    Politicians sit yourselves down
    There’s nothing for you here,
Won’t you please come to Chicago for a ride.

Don’t ask Jack to help you
‘Cause he’ll turn the other ear,
Won’t you please come to Chicago or else join the other side.

In Vietnam, the National Death Party were the Democrats; it was after all, a Democratic war, and the students who came out to protest were also mostly Democrats who wanted their party to do better. In the occupation of Iraq, the Death Party (and certainly the executive branch) seems to be the Republicans - but I would argue that, with a few notable exceptions in both parties, the Death Party is bi-partisan. War is good business for politicians - and the war profiteers are great at greasing every one’s blood-stained palms with the mammon of other people’s flesh and bones.

Recently, the Democratic leadership did come out and ask George for a “redeployment” plan for our troops from Iraq. Yes, they should be redeployed, but to their homes. Redeployment is good for most of our soldiers, temporarily, but it just means increased aerial bombings on civilians and death squads. We also have to think of our brothers and sisters who are chained to the violence and death in Iraq. Additionally, call me cynical, but after months of begging our “opposition” party to do something about the bloodbath in Iraq, could they be acting now because they see a political advantage? Thousands of people have died while they waited for the right politically-expedient moment to finally do something about it.

    Somehow people must be free
I hope the day comes soon,
Won’t you please come to Camp Casey show your face.
From the bottom of the ocean to the mountains of the moon,
Won’t you please come to Camp Casey no one else can take your place.

    We can change the world
    Rearrange the world
It’s dying - if you believe in justice
Dying - and if you believe in freedom
Dying - let a man live his own life
    Dying - rules and regulations
Who needs them, open up the door.

Camp Casey in Crawford is more important than ever, now. Not only has this administration, with the eager approval of Congress, committed genocide on a massive scale, they are taking away our civil rights and our right to be heard and counted. We cannot allow these same leaders who accuse the peace movement of a political agenda to use our soldiers and the babies of Iraq as political game pieces in the folly of elections when there is so much overwhelming evidence that our elections have been compromised, and while election after election is stolen, no one does anything about it. It is up to us all, nobody else.

As long as we allow our leaders to continue killing innocent people to punish criminals, then the killing will never stop. As long as we sit on our butts on our couches and keep buying gas from Exxon, while we curse the insane and out of control war profiteers, then the killing will never stop. As long as we give our quiet consent to torture by not loudly speaking out against the inhumanity, then the killing will never stop. As long as we are silent about the crimes against humanity that BushCo is committing, then the crimes will never stop and the killers will never be punished.

Won’t you please come to Camp Casey - no one else can take your place.

If we end it now, we won’t be singing the same tune in another 40 years!

The lyrics to Chicago were used with Graham Nash’s permission and the piece was inspired by Vietnam Veteran Ward Reilly, who sang the new version, “Won’t You Please Come to Camp Casey at Camp Casey Easter.”

  13. stevierae54

Why does she persist in calling Ward Reilly a Vietnam VETERAN? He served hs 30 month stint in Stuttgart, Germany.

It would be accurate to call him a Vietnam ERA veteran–that’s the term I use—but I don’t think anyone who wasn’t actually in country at some point during those years (Saigon fell in ‘75) has the right to refer to himself as a Vietnam VETERAN.

But, then, facts have never mattered to this crowd.

  14. 1sttofight

I wondered about that too. Maybe if a few REAL VN VETS had a heart to heart talk with that POS Riley, He might change his description of himself.

But than you are right, When have facts ever got in the way of their agenda?

This is the part that really got me riled up.

“Our brothers are being “bound and gagged” and “chained to chairs” in Guantanamo, which, contrary to what George said about wanting to shut it down, is being expanded and renovated so the sadists can carry out new and improved forms of torture. Israel continues to receive US support in slaughtering Lebanese civilians to consolidate its power in the region.”

Does this stupid snag not realize these are the people who killed her son?

  15. sheehanjihad

This stump dumb snag is actually happy the muslims killed her son. If that had not happened, she would still be on tranzene sitting in her trailer petting the fur off the head of her drugged out poodle and watching re runs of Gilligan’s Island. Now, with her son’s sacrifice being used for her monetary gain, she is dancing in the aisles praising the efforts of Islamofascists and hoping against hope that her country is destroyed.

I guess to her, it is ok to condemn our efforts to combat terrorism, and openly support the very people that would kill her in a heartbeat. That, good people, is psychotic behavior, and this fat snag is becoming the poster child for just how misguided a person can become when they become delusional. What a freakin snag.

  16. stevierae54

Well, they sure didn’t stay in Jordan very long, and they never named the “Iraqi parliamentarians” they met with–nor, apparently, did they make it to Lebanon or come back with a “peace plan” to implement.

This is her latest rant, courtesy of truthout (and after venturing there, I must take a long, hot, soapy shower….) Note that she didn’t even get the date of the peace treaty between Jordan and Israel right–she’s 5 years too late. What a dumba**.

P.S. This “doctor” who is quoted in here is the same one who has met with Code Pink before–she’s the same one who said “Life was so much better under Sadaam…

Troops Home Fast: Day 32, Amman, Jordan
    By Cindy Sheehan

Speaking peace while making war is not a sustainable policy.

    - Mr. Rami G. Khouri, on Condi’s “glamour” visit to Israel last week (Jordan Times, August 4, 2006)

My trip to Jordan from JFK Airport in New York City started out with a Middle Eastern flavor the other day. A group of us came here to meet with Iraqi Parliamentarians and human rights groups to find out what the people of Iraq who don’t live in the Green Zone and who do not get their paychecks from the White House think and feel about the occupation and what their hearts’ desires are for their country.

While I was still in JFK, an Iraqi gentleman approached me who is now displaced and living in Jordan. He recognized me and was “honored” to meet me and grateful for my work but wanted to convey something to me. He said that while what the peace movement is doing in the US to end the occupation is very gratifying to the people of Iraq, it is “too late” for his country. He said everyone who could leave, has left, and that most of the country is beyond repair. The miraculous Babylon, which has been in existence for thousands of years, didn’t even last three years after the Americans got there. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead, added to the over a million who died during the sanctions … He sadly informed me that the Americans are not stopping the sectarian violence, only encouraging it in his country, and he holds little hope for any future for the land that he was born in and loves.

We were picked up at Queen Alia airport in Amman by Munther who has worked in and out of the government of Jordan and consulting for NGOs for years. He helped broker the 1999 peace agreement between Jordan and Israel - as his specialty is water and agriculture. He is so fortunate to live in Jordan with his family, but he has been shot and been the target of rockets in his home for his work for peace. Munther realizes that a true and lasting peace cannot be achieved by eternal war and killing and has paid some tough prices for his beliefs.

The most horrifying testimony of the day was when we met with “Dr. Nada,” an Iraqi doctor who stayed in Baghdad to help her people during the sanctions and the invasion. She didn’t abandon her country, or sell it out like many privileged people who exited during the Baathist regime (like Iyad Allawi or Ahmed Chalabi) or the sanctions … which she, as a supervisory physician at a major Baghdad hospital, said killed two million children. The children died of pollution and sicknesses from depleted uranium during the first gulf mistake of George the First. The babies died because of the war, but also because there is no medicine and very limited medical facilities to treat them. Dr. Nada brought the daughter of a friend, three-year-old Farrah, who had short brown hair and big brown eyes. There were so many young children playing in Queen airport yesterday when I got here and dozens running around the hotel. My heart almost bursts with sorrow when I think of all of the children in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan who have had such horrible lives and had many of their lives cut short by the evil war machine that seems to be running our world.

US General Abizaid said to a Senate committee yesterday that Lebanon could be an effective government and US partner in the war on terror if only their equipment could be “upgraded” and their troops “trained” properly and that the US would be happy to “assist” them. With all of the degraded and spent Israeli equipment and bombs and the billions of upgrading the US military equipment needs, it looks like it is going to be another banner year for the war profiteers!

Dr. Nada also told us about seven harrowing days she spent working in an emergency room in Baghdad between April 2 and April 9 in 2003. She said that over 100 casualties PER HOUR were coming through her hospital alone and that many died because they could not be helped in time. She was responsible for the triage and she had to work knowing that number 100 that hour would almost certainly die. The people her hospital operated on at that time were just rolled out into the halls with no histories or IDs. She said that she remembers that time as “amputated body parts swimming in a sea of blood.”

Dr. Nada stayed in Iraq all of those years but now lives in Jordan because of the continuing violence of the militias and death squads and kidnappings in her homeland. She says that the Americans, even though they don’t kill every innocent Iraqi, are responsible for “100 percent of the deaths,” because they are not protecting the Iraqi people, and the occupation is fueling the violence.

I will be leaving Jordan tomorrow to head to Camp Casey III to confront George with the horrors of his failed policies in the Middle East. We just got an update that he will be leaving town on the 9th now, instead of earlier published reports that said the 14th. Munther also commented to me yesterday that he couldn’t believe that George didn’t have the “courage or courtesy” to meet with me. I responded: “He doesn’t even have the courage to be in the same town with me, anymore.” This cowardly cowboy and his minions who are so quick to condemn children to early deaths need to face up to the reality of their crimes. We need to be as relentless and as ruthless for peace, and in peace, as they are for war.

I can’t bear to stand by and watch more innocent Farrahs and Caseys be killed. So I will be sitting in the ditch on Sunday to ask the same question: “Why?”

  17. 1sttofight

stevie, A long stiff drink will help too. ;)

BTW, I thought the Iraqi PM tricked her into ending her fast. What happened to that?

  18. rocketman

“So I will be sitting in the ditch on Sunday….”

Good, sit in the ditch….BTW, what happened to the 5 acre SPC Casey Sheehan Memorial Park? Why ya sitting in the ditch bitch??

  19. wardmama4

Uh, perhaps I am stupid - been reading missives from ‘Mother’ Sheehan too long - but which is it lady >added to the over a million who died during the sanctionsthe sanctions … which she, as a supervisory physician at a major Baghdad hospital, said killed two million children
