Sheehan Still Crazy After All These Years

It’s been a while, but here some news from the once news worthy, at least in the eyes of our one party media, Cindy Sheehan.

From the Arizona Republic:

Anti-war activists Cindy Sheehan and Mitch Rubin talk to Sen John McCain’s staff in the lobby of his Phoenix office Friday.

Anti-war activist visits Valley to promote book

by Glen Creno – Jun. 6, 2009

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan says she’s gotten over her personal animosity with former President George W. Bush and has replaced it with a broader, institutional revulsion.

Sheehan, the California "Peace Mom" who used to hold anti-war demonstrations outside Bush’s ranch in Texas, was in the Valley on Friday to promote her new book. She stopped by a demonstration outside Sen. John McCain’s office before planning an appearance at a bookstore Friday evening and said she was on her way to Texas to demonstrate outside Bush’s new home in Dallas.

Her son was killed in the Iraq war, and she wants answers.

"At first, it was about George Bush to me," she said. "Now, it’s about the entire military-industrial complex, which George Bush was just a tiny part and Barack Obama is just a tiny part. I believe accountability for an American administration is essential for reigning [sic] in the military-industrial complex."

Sheehan’s appearance gave some horsepower to a demonstration outside McCain’s office staged by local activists. They delivered a letter to the office staff – McCain wasn’t there..

About a dozen activists showed up, and a similar number of reporters and photographers attended. The activists invoked the name of Pat Tillman, the former Phoenix Cardinals and Arizona State University football star who was killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan, as part of their pitch.

McChrystal was head of the U.S. Joint Special Operations Command when Tillman was killed in 2004 and oversaw the paperwork for the Silver Star awarded to Tillman after his death. The recommendation did not mention that Tillman was killed by friendly fire…

Isn’t it wonderful the way Ms. Sheehan attaches herself to the most despicable things?

Has she ever protested Mr. Max Cleland getting a Silver Star for a self-inflicted wound?

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan says she’s gotten over her personal animosity with former President George W. Bush…

Oh, really? Then why is she ‘leading a march’ on Mr. Bush’s new home?

Here are some more details, via the Dallas Ft. Worth NBC affiliate:

Anti-War Mom Brings Bush Housewarming March

Cindy Sheehan, who drew national attention for camping outside former President George W. Bush’s ranch in protest of the Iraq War, is following him to Dallas.

Sheehan will lead a demonstration Monday protesting "crimes against humanity."

"We can’t allow George Bush’s crimes to be forgotten just because he is not in office anymore," she said in an e-mail.

But while most people in Preston Hollow have gone out of their way to welcome the former president and first lady home, they’re not exactly rolling out the welcome mat for Sheehan.

"Go away," resident Kathie Taub said. "Go back! Leave us alone!"

Taub said Sheehan had already protested and should "now leave everybody alone."

"She has already made her opinion known, and it is getting old," Michael Taub said. "She needs to go back to wherever she came from."

Neighbor Victor Toledo echoed the sentiment.

"There’s a lot of decent people that call this home, and I’d rather not see that," he said…

It was not clear if Bush or his wife will be at home this weekend, according to the Dallas Morning News

Note that once again her target will probably not even be around. But when has that ever mattered to Ms. Sheehan?

And speaking of psychopaths, check out the Democrat Underground response to this joyous news.

But, you see, we are the haters.

It sounds to me like she still hasn’t gotten over her animosity towards George W. She’s like a person whose told not to pick at a wound otherwise it’ll never heal. But she keeps at it and keeps the wound raw and festering all in the name of attention. This woman’s biggest rage is knowing that she needs George W. to give her something to bitch about. Without him her life has no meaning. Most revolting of all is her using the death of her son as a motive for her shameless behavior.

  2. catie says:

She is to be pitied I suppose, although my pity ran out for her years ago. I know quite a few moms who lost their sons in Iraq or Afghanistan as well as Bosnia & Kosovo and none of them are like her at all. Strangely I had a former boyfriend from Vacaville, CA where she is from originally. He said his parents told him the towns patience has run out with her as well. Sadly, she was his younger brother’s CCD teacher. She should let her son rest in peace.

  3. 12 Gauge Rage says:

Hatred consumes the vessel it contains. One day this nonstop venom towards George W. will be her undoing. From what I was told, she and her son had a falling out years ago. It was only from his untimely death that she decided to use his loss as a means to make her grudge against Bush something more personal. If she tried just the merest fraction of stupid stunts like this in China she’d find the butt of an AK-47 cracked against her head.

  4. Knuckle Dragger says:

This is off the topic, but it’s amazing to me that our great home town paper doesn’t realize that the Phoenix Cardinals stopped calling themselves the Phoenix Cardinals long before Pat Tillman arrived. He also wasn’t a star at the professional level, although we recognize his heart, determination, and heroism.

Attempt to make blood money over her son’s death, when he can’t even defend himself.

For Cindy and anyone that would contend that we (Israel included here) are no different than our enemies, from the AP: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/M/ML_IRAQ?SITE=VTBUR&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT

BAGHDAD (AP) — Teenagers armed with grenades and suicide vests are the latest recruits for Sunni insurgents trying to find new ways to outwit heightened security measures and attack American and Iraqi forces, the U.S. military said Saturday.

    […]

“With grenade attacks, insurgents hope to capitalize on reports of civilian injuries blamed on a coalition response to the attack,” said Maj. Derrick Cheng, a spokesman for U.S. forces in northern Iraq. “However, the reality is that the grenade explosion itself causes the majority of civilian casualties.”

The military has said in the past it believes al-Qaida in Iraq and other insurgent groups are recruiting children because of their ability to avoid scrutiny.

“Sheehan’s appearance gave some horsepower to a demonstration outside McCain’s office staged by local activists” All twelve of them!
LOL…That be 12 HP??? She must be out of money so she’s on the trail again.

  8. Rusty Shackleford says:

In other news Ms Sheehan spoke of some of her more potent enemies. In one comment she mentioned a “sneaky little fink” named Timmy who took her galoshes in second grade. “I know he did it”, she sniped, ” We can’t just let it slide because we’re not in grade school anymore.”

She then presented names and addresses of all the people who have wronged her from when her aunt Edna wouldn’t let her have ice cream when she was four to just last Thursday when someone with the license plate AWR-107 flipped her off when passing her on the highway.

Seems the world owes something to Ms Sheehan and they owe her BIG.

  9. proreason says:

Cindy Sheehan is a perfect representative of the marxist mind.

On policy, she and Obamy are twins. If she were President, nothing would be different than right now.

From a stylistic perspective, Obamy hides his rage better than Cindy and his one big talent beats her by a mile…….he is an unparalled shameless liar, and can say anything with a straight face.

They have about the same intelligence level.

Poor Cindy. She could have been president if she was as good as The Moron at hood-winking her audiences.

  10. GnuCarSmell says:

Cindy Sheehan is like Susan Boyle without the talent. Her one-note tune (“Bush killed Casey, It drove me crazy”) is so boring the local news outlets probably had to threaten the reporters to go cover the protest.

Cindy may not honor her son’s sacrifice, but it’s fitting that the rest of us do, especially on this commemoration of D-Day, June 6, 1944. May God bless Army Specialist Casey Sheehan and all our fallen men-in-arms.

  11. neocon mom says:

She fails to honor her adult son’s decision to put his life on the line for his country. It’s like a posthumous “I told you so!” Was Casey forced to join the Army by G.W. at gunpoint? Yes, it’s a profound sadness to lose one’s child, but this is obviously not about Casey and never was. I’ve often thought that it would be a consolation of sorts, if one loses one’s child (or any loved one), that it be in the line of duty or in any heroic act.

  12. Belasarius says:

“Has she ever protested Mr. Max Cleland getting a Silver Star for a self-inflicted wound?”

This is not true on two points. Max Cleland got a Silver Star for exposing himself during a rocket attack at Khe Sanh and treating and moving wounded men. He then organized his unit to repair communication equipment while under fire. His citation is online.

Check his wiki entry. He didn’t drop the grenade the wounded him either.

I’m not a fan of Max Cleland. He pulled some pretty undignified stuff in support of Kerry but he’s a thousand times more deserving of his awards than Kerry.

I really hate to see inaccurate information on conservative sites.

You need to take this up with Mr. Cleland, who has at times suggested that he may have dropped the grenade himself, and that he got the Silver Star because of his wounds, rather than for anything else he did:

“He told the pilot he was going to stay awhile. Maybe have a few beers with friends. … Then Cleland looked down and saw a grenade. Where’d that come from? He walked toward it, bent down, and crossed the line between before and after.” (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Dec. 5, 1999)

“[Cleland] didn’t step on a land mine. He wasn’t wounded in a firefight. He couldn’t blame the Viet Cong or friendly fire. The Silver Star and Bronze Star medals he received only embarrassed him. He was no hero. He blew himself up.” (Baltimore Sun, Oct. 24, 1999)

“How did I become a war hero?” he said to the Boston Globe reporter in 1997. “Simple. The grenade went off.”

“I’m not a fan of Max Cleland. He pulled some pretty undignified stuff in support of Kerry but he’s a thousand times more deserving of his awards than Kerry.”

John Kerry’s Silver Star citation is online, too, you know.

    • Belasarius says:

Cleland may have been trying to be modest, a rare trait in a politician, unlike Murtha or Kerry. I’m pretty sure he never said he got a Silver Star for blowing himself up. Many people may have drawn that conclusion. I believe that Kerry wrote his own citation. I don’t think Cleland did. There is a witness to Cleland’s accident. That Baltimore Sun quote is as defamatory and inaccurate as anything the NY Times has ever written about a conservative. The last quote I think is said ironically.

Here is the quote describing the grenade accident.

“When the helicopter landed, Cleland jumped out, followed by the two soldiers. They ducked beneath the rotors and turned to watch the liftoff. Cleland reached down to pick up the grenade he believed had popped off his flak jacket. The blast slammed him backward, shredding both his legs and one arm. He was 25 years old…

David Lloyd was a gung-ho, 19-year-old enlisted Marine, son of a Baltimore, Maryland ship worker, who went to Vietnam because he “wanted to kill Communists.”

On April 8, 1968, he was in a mortar pit on a hill near Khe Sanh when he heard an explosion. Fragments bounced off his flak jacket. He ran to the injured officer, a man named Max Cleland. ‘Hold on there, captain,’ Lloyd told Cleland. ‘The chopper will be here in a minute.’

Lloyd took off his web belt and tied it around one of Cleland’s shredded legs. When the medics arrived, he left to help another injured soldier — one of the two who had gotten off a helicopter with Cleland.

That unnamed soldier was crying. ‘It was mine,’ he said, ‘it was my grenade.’ ”

^ Thompson, Neal. “30 Years of Self-Loathing, and Then, Finally, the Truth.” Milwaukee Journal Sentinel 5 December 1999: 1. Find Articles. 11 October 2006.

Again, not a fan of liberals. I did not like at all Cleland’s efforts to support Kerry such as the trek to Crawford. I’m not too sure what to make of that. It was either breath-takingly cynical or unbearably maudlin.

And you are citing this as proof that his injury wasn’t self-inflicted?

Max Cleland would have never gotten a Silver Star without that accident.

He has said as much, and it is obvious to anyone who has looked at the matter.

You know not of what you speak.

  13. Liberals Demise says:

Drag Queen Cindy was what before her son died in combat? That’s right, “NOTHING” but a commoner like you and I.
Here is a bitter person riding fame at the expense of her fallen son.
    “Rest in peace soldier”.
