Clapper Didn’t Know Who Edited Talking Points

From The Hill:

McCain: Intel director changing his story on Benghazi talking points

By Jeremy Herb | 11/20/12

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said he was “surprised and frustrated” to read reports that the intelligence community had altered talking points about the attack in Benghazi, Libya, after being told last week that the source of the edits was unknown.

A spokesman for Director of National Intelligence James Clapper on Monday said it was the intelligence community — and not other agencies or the White House — that made the edits.

It ‘takes a community’ to make edits?

“I participated in hours of hearings in the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence last week regarding the events in Benghazi, where senior intelligence officials were asked this very question, and all of them — including the Director of National Intelligence himself — told us that they did not know who made the changes,” McCain said in a statement Tuesday. “Now we have to read the answers to our questions in the media.” …

Where are the transcripts? Read the transcript, Candy!

Meanwhile, we have this from National Review:

Report: Contra CBS, Intelligence Community Did Not Alter Benghazi Talking Points

By Eliana Johnson | November 20, 2012

A congressional source familiar with the testimony delivered Thursday by Director of National Intelligence James Clapper says that, in his testimony, Clapper was insistent that he did not alter the Benghazi talking points to remove references to al-Qaeda or terrorism.

Again, there must be a transcript of Mr. Clapper’s testimony. Where is it?

That raises questions about the latest CBS news report indicating that the talking points were edited in Clapper’s office. It was there, according to CBS, where ‘al-Qaeda’ and ‘terrorism’ disappeared from the unclassified version of the document that later found its way into the hands of UN Ambassador Susan Rice, and onto five Sunday morning news shows.

What is the name of this person? Surely there must be some record of who read and edited the talking points.

Senator Saxby Chambliss, the ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, also made statements on Fox News Sunday that call the CBS report into question. Chambliss told Chris Wallace that, in Thursday’s hearings, “every leader” in the intelligence community was asked if he knew who changed the talking points. Nobody knew. “The only entity that reviewed the talking points that was not there,” Chambliss said, “was the White House.”

What a run around. And remember, this is the same administration that promised they would be ‘the most transparent administration in history.’

Which has turned out to be true, in a way. But not in the way they meant it.

Typical Obama Administration talking points. Shrugging shoulders and heartfelt cries of “NOT MY FAULT!” I’ll bet it will eventually fall back on some poor peon Bush apointee… BUSH’S FAULT!. What a joke.

This is actually a recurring theme for the Obama administration–everything, even the “good” stuff like taking out Osama Bin Laden has been mixed messages, a confusing and conflicting narrative, and multiple variations on the story. Really, these people have no idea what they’re doing.

unfortunately, they know exactly what they’re doing. they are dividing the country. every few days they change their story slightly. after 8 weeks it is not the same story.
now – all talking heads on the left chant their talking points, and they are 100% correct – they can accurately quote top officials and news articles.
conservatives are able to do the same thing. then we all sit around and argue with each other while the country burns.
it’s simply more divide and conquor. gov’t divides it’s citizens and pits them against each other; white vs black, gay vs normal, young vs old, rich vs poor, left vs right, etc ad nausem, while we’re fighting they walk away with the spoils.

Hillary’s speech at the arrival process of calling the “assaults” at Bengazi a “mob” that responded to that aawwwfull vdieo someone put on the internet”. She spends little time honoring the fallen, praises Libyan’s reactions and has the audacity of ordering the families of the murdered victims…

“This has been a difficult week for our state department and our country.

“We will wipe away our tears, stiffen our spines, and face the future undaunted and we will do it together”.

It was all about the loving Libyans, the video maker, a mob, and pain in the butt to her, ready to be scrapped.

Hillary took the blame and Obama lied through his teeth too.

Nobody seems to “know” anything in the nerobama regime:

Clapper doesn’t know who edited the talking points.
The Secretary of State doesn’t know Benghazi was a terrorist act.
The president doesn’t know that our ambassador was killed by an organized assault team.
The Department of Social Justice doesn’t know anything about black panthers intimidating voters.
Nobody knows how thousands of guns got into the hands of drug cartels.
    It goes on and on…

I had the unpleasant opportunity to watch sc’s video of her talking points.Something is missing in her timeline besides logic.
She says events happening “after” ‘the event in Cairo’ started had caused a second happening in Bengazi .I think she was trying to set up Mitt for his tweet during the Cairo upset. If you put the two together and add that the press was pushing a line that included Mitt was interjecting himself into something that he didn’t belong involving himself. I think they intended to blame Mitt for inciting the second more brutal round.Just had to say out loud cause this thing is nuts.
