CNN: Petraeus To Say He Knew It Was Terrorism

From Breitbart:

CNN: Petraeus To Testify He Knew Libya Was Terrorism ‘Almost Immediately’

By John Nolte | 15 Nov 2012

Just a few minutes ago on CNN, Pentagon correspondent Barbara Starr reported that a high-placed source informed her that former CIA Chief David Petraeus will use his upcoming testimony to amend his previous testimony. According to this source, Petraeus will tell the closed door congressional hearing that he knew "almost immediately" that the September 11 anniversary attack on our Libyan consulate was a terrorist attack committed by the al-Qaeda-linked militia Ansar Al Sharia.

Frances Townsend, a former Homeland Security advisor to George W. Bush, who is now a CNN analyst, tweeted [the message above].

Other than Petraeus’s upcoming testimony being "different than what he initially said," Starr’s source also reported that Petraeus will tell Congress that at first there were at least 20 different intelligence reports floating around that said the video was responsible for the attack, and that over time, those reports were "slowly disproved."

Petraeus also told this source he believed the CIA talking points given to Susan Rice came from within the White House or Administration.

Which, if true, is pretty damning.

Meanwhile, there is actually nothing written up about this at CNN.

The closest we have from CNN is this:

Petraeus: I did not pass on classified info

By Mariano Castillo | November 15, 2012

(CNN) — David Petraeus’ resignation was not linked to the September attack that killed four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, and he never passed classified information to the woman he was having an affair with, the former CIA director told an HLN journalist.

"In our first conversation," Kyra Phillips, from CNN’s sister network HLN, said Thursday, Petraeus "had told me he had engaged in something dishonorable. He sought to do the honorable thing in response — and that was to come forward. He was very clear that he screwed up terribly … even felt fortunate to have a wife who is far better than he deserves."

Among other things, Petraeus said he has not talked with Paula Broadwell, his biographer and the woman with whom he had an affair, since the scandal broke.

"He insisted to me that he has never passed classified information to Paula Broadwell," Phillips said. "He said this has nothing to do with Benghazi, and he wants to testify. He will testify."

In other words, CNN is trying to keep this focused on the Petraeus’ affair. And off Benghazi.

Petraeus is expected to appear Friday before the House and Senate intelligence committees, aiming to clear up "a lot of misrepresentations of what he told Congress initially" about who was behind the attack, a source who has spoken with him said…

Okay then. Start clearing them up.
