Stadiums in Iraq were namely for executions. It was Saddam Hussien that put soccer players in mummy shaped coffins with holes in them. When they played poorly, Saddam had swords stuck through the holes into their body’s to punish them.

I think its quite obvious then (by reading the Communist News Network) that we have been wrong all this time. Cricket is the #1 item that is a threat to world peace and must be eliminated at once. Lil’ Barry must call for the UN to outlaw Cricket in the interest of World Peace. Only then can we all live together in peace and harmony.

Well that and after the Islamanazis have wiped Israel off the face of the Earth.

I travel to India on business quite often. There are three primary terror groups there:

Islamist — usually Pakistanis or Bangladeshis, but there is a substantial Indian Muslim population as well;

Communist guerillas — mostly active in middle- to northern India (see this article for details). They hate primarily the democratically elected government;

Hindu extremists — these mostly attack the first two, but westerners are becoming more and more of a target, or at a minimum, unmourned collateral damage.

Some fun, I’m telling you. The good news is that thanks to overtures by the Bush administration, India has become a close ally in the War on Terror.

All too often the cause of conflict is ignored. Historically this has proven to be a fatal mistake, allowing problems to grow bigger, i.e. fascism. The world needs to address the cause of these problems regardless of how big or entrenched they may be. We need to come to an understanding; the world can live without Islam. It is no longer a freedom of religion issue. Extremist have hid behind this noble idea for too long. Any ideology that promotes the death and destruction of religions, cultures, or peoples based on faith is not a religion; it is a cancer that seeks to destroy the diverse organs of the world. There will come a day when we all either unite against Islam or under it.

BTW, the CNN report also downplays the nature of the latest attack.

From an earlier report by the Agence France-Press:

Witnesses said the upmarket district of Lahore, home to designer boutiques, was transformed into a battle zone as gunmen hidden behind trees opened fire in a sophisticated, coordinated attack.

“The gunmen targeted the wheels of the bus first, and then the bus. We all dived to the floor to take cover,” Sri Lanka’s captain Mahela Jayawardene told Cricinfo.

Most of the team’s injuries appeared to be minor and the players owed the their “lives” to the bus driver for his courage under fire, he said.

It could have been worse — Rehman said the attackers fired a rocket which missed the bus, then threw grenades underneath which failed to explode.

A police official said two civilians and six policemen were killed in the attack as the team was heading for the third day’s play in the second Test against Pakistan. A local Pakistani umpire and 10 policemen were wounded.

Sri Lankan officials said seven team players and a coach were hurt.
