‘Peoples Weekly World’ Loves Joe Biden

From the Communist Party USA’s Peoples Weekly World:

‘Just your average Joe’

Joe Biden pays visit to the Ohio State University-Newark

By Jonny Lippincott

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

NEWARK, Ohio—Democratic vice- presidential candidate Joe Biden paid a visit to this working class town Oct. 15. Biden delivered a speech to a packed house at the Ohio State University and Central Ohio Technical College Adena Hall.

Newark, Ohio is a small community located about 40 miles east of Columbus. The town has been suffering economic hardships from foreclosed homes, loss of small businesses to layoffs from major manufacturers such as Owens Corning, Diebold and Holophane lighting solutions. Newark has also experienced massive job outsourcing due to jobs being pushed out of town and forcing many residence to commute to major cities for employment.

Thus, a visit from the self proclaimed “poorest senator” seemed like a ray of hope to a near dying community. Among the people attending the rally were everyone from the old to the young and many representatives of the working class including steelworkers, fire and policemen, medical workers, small business owners and so forth. It was with out a doubt that the majority of the crowd was young people thirsty for change from the direction our country is headed in.

The overall atmosphere of the event seemed more like a rock concert or a major sporting event then a political rally. To start things off, Ohio State Treasurer and Attorney General candidate Richard Cordray and Gov. Ted Strickland got the crowd fired up talking about how important of a role the state of Ohio will play in this most important presidential election.

When Biden began his speech, he began talking about his hometown in Delaware and the similarities to Newark. He said, “The American people feel it all over, people are sitting at their kitchen tables and having a conversation as ordinary and as profound as ‘Will we have a job next month?'”

Biden also touched on the fact that America’s progress will not be measured by the stock market or by the salaries of big business CEOs but by parents’ ability to tell their children everything will be fine in the end.

It seemed the people of Newark felt relieved when the labor issues of the times were mentioned and that someone is willing to solve the problem instead of cower from the true war being waged against the American people, the war of job loss, outsourcing, foreclosure, predatory lending, and the decline of small business.

Well, Mr. Biden might be right in describing himself as “the poorest Senator.”

But of course the People’s Weekly World would love him. Just look at who they are.

From Wikipedia:

People’s Weekly World

The People’s Weekly World (PWW) is the newspaper associated with the Communist Party USA.

The People’s Weekly World / Nuestro Mundo (Spanish title: Our World) is a national, grassroots weekly newspaper and the direct descendant of the Daily Worker, founded in 1924.

Maybe they hope he will become “just your average Joe” Stalin.

Here is another article from the same Peoples Weekly World:

Marx was right

Author: PWW/NM Editorial Board

First published 10/21/2008

It was only yesterday that “free market” ideologues were dancing on Karl Marx’s grave with scornful shouts that “greed is good” and “TINA” — “there is no alternative” to capitalism. These fat men guffawed contemptuously at Marx’s warning that capitalism is built on wage exploitation, that workers never earn enough to buy back what they produce, creating “overproduction” and periodic crises — some deep and long — that can only be solved by socialism.

These ideologues cling to delusions that capitalism is the “best of all possible worlds,” blindness expressed as recently as two weeks ago by John McCain when he asserted that the “fundamentals of the economy are strong.”

But just the other day, economist David Macke surveyed the financial collapse spreading like a thermonuclear chain reaction. Asked what was needed to stop the destruction he replied, “At the end of the day, if you socialize enough of the financial system, it has to work.” Suddenly “socialism” is needed to stave off catastrophe! And who is Macke? An economist for JPMorgan Chase, one of the world’s biggest transnational banks.

But Macke’s “socialism” bears no resemblance to Marx’s version, in which working people own the means of production, including banks, and operate them in working people’s interests. Macke would “socialize” bad debt, forcing working people to bear the burden of rescuing Wall Street. Profits would continue to flow into the coffers of the rich. Left behind would be millions who have lost their homes, their jobs and health care as well as their 401(k) retirement accounts.

We should demand that any bailout work for us.

A coalition led by leaders of major unions has laid out just that approach in “A Call for Common Sense.” Use the federal government’s bank equity, paid for with our tax dollars, to force Morgan Chase, CitiGroup, etc., to agree to a moratorium on foreclosures and evictions. Require the banks to invest in a “green” jobs program to jumpstart the economy and retool our nation’s factories, farms and infrastructure to sharply reduce greenhouse gases. Make the banks invest in rebuilding the Gulf Coast, especially New Orleans. Such a program is not socialism, but it is a step toward socialism’s democratic principle, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his work.”

Of course the PWW’s admiration for Joe Biden should not come as any real surprise.

We have noted before that both the USCPU and the Democratic Socialists Of America have already endorsed Barack Obama.

(As well they should since, both the CPUSA and the DSA’s platforms are almost identical)

Still, seeing this in so many places in black and white should give pause.

This isn’t some long past association. This is the here and now.

We really have to wonder why all of these ultra radical groups are so eager for an Obama victory.

That’s easy. They smell victory! The downfall of America will be handed to them by the grateful administration they paid for, and now they will reap the benefits of their investment.

I live In Newark. I have two sons who attend college at the Newark campus. Adena Hall was almost empty. There may have been 40 people there tops. My youngest son didn’t even notice that there was an event. It was just a normal quiet day on campus. I have never seen so much fabrication in my life. It seems we have lost the journalistic check on our government. NOBAMA Not Now Not Ever!

“From each according to his ability, to each according to his work.”
I clicked on the Commie link, and it really does say that.

Except that’s not what Marx said. What he actually said was:
“From each according to his ability, to each according to his need

Which has a radically different meaning.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_each_according_to_his_ability_to_each_according_to_his_need

As wikipedia points out “The phrase summarizes the principles that, under a communist system, every person should contribute to society to the best of their ability and consume from society in proportion to their needs, regardless of how much they have contributed.

You see … even when the Left are quoting themselves, they have to lie about it.

  5. 1sttofight says:

And those who can not contribute will be elimanated.

    So long Granny Obama…
