Congressional Black Caucus Lauds Castros

From The Daily Voice (Black America’s Daily News Source):

Congressional Black Caucus members report on meeting with Castro

April 8, 2009

Members of the U.S. Congressional Black Caucus met with Cuban President Raul Castro and former president Fidel Castro this week in Cuba.

The meeting was the first high-level session between U.S. elected officials and Cuban leaders since Fidel Castro left office, and Rep. Barbara Lee, the chair of the black caucus, described the former president as "engaging" and "energetic." in the discussions he had with the U.S. delegation.

A report from Cuba said the members took part in a "lengthy discussion" that dealt with "diverse issues with an emphasis on the possible future development of bilateral relations and economic links, following the recent election of a new U.S. administration."

The other members of the delegations included Reps. Mel Watt of North Carolina, Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri, Marcia Fudge of Ohio, Mike Honda of California, Bobby Rush of Illinois and Laura Richardson of California…

The first caucus delegation visited Cuba in February 1999 and was headed by Maxine Waters. The second came in January 2000, according to Cuban media sources.

Of course the Congressional Black Caucus, the friends of dictators and thugs everywhere, praise the Castro brothers and (ignoring their infamous Swiss bank accounts) wax poetic about their modest means.

In return, Mr. Castro (Fidel), has also heaped praise upon these useful idiot stooges courageous Congressmen. And why wouldn’t he? They are his comrades in arms.

Speaking of whom, the Associated Press lets us in on Mr. Castro’s sentiments about Mr. Obama:

Fidel Castro asks US lawmakers, ‘How can we help President Obama?’

Will Weissert, Associated Press
Havana, April 08, 2009

… California Democratic Rep. Laura Richardson, who also met Fidel with Illinois Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush, said Castro "looked directly into our eyes" and asked how Cuba could help Obama in his efforts to change the course of US foreign policy. Richardson said she had the impression that 82-year-old Fidel wants to see changes in US-Cuba relations in his lifetime. Lee said she found Castro "very healthy, very energetic, very clear thinking."

Of course even an 82-year-old Castro knows it is Mr. Obama’s intention to do away with US sanctions against that imprisoned island workers’ paradise.

As, again the Associated Press, kindly points out:

US policy on Cuba evolving under Obama

By MATTHEW LEE

April 7, 2009

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama will soon move to ease travel and financial restrictions on Cuba as his administration conducts a broad review of its policy toward the communist nation, a senior American official said Monday.

"We can expect some relaxation, some changes in terms of the restrictions on family remittances and family travel," said Jeffrey Davidow, the White House adviser for the upcoming Summit of the Americas, which Obama will attend.

Davidow said Monday that the changes — which officials say would allow unlimited visits to Cuba by American families and remove caps on money transfers — are intended not only as a moral step for the estimated 1.5 million Americans who have relatives in Cuba, but also to foster change there…

The only question that really remains is, how much the US taxpayer will have to send to the Castro brothers for reparations?

And speaking of US taxpayers, are you aware that the Congressional Black Caucus has (at least) two taxpayer supported 501c3 “charities”?

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and the Congressional Black Caucus Leadership Institute.

(For the record, the Congressional Black Caucus was originally termed a "Democratic Select Committee", when it was formed in January 1969. It was named the Congressional Black Caucus in February 1971 on the motion of Charles B. Rangel of New York.)

Mind you, according to the IRS guidelines, 501c3s are prevented from being involved in politics.

But, as we often have occasion to note, those rules are never applied against Democrats or anyone on the left.

ACORN hard at work undermining the Republic and what it stands for!!
Once and for all…..”Ignorance IS Bliss”!!
    GGGGGGGRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

    Oh….BTW
Castro isn’t energetic…..he’s dying (or dead) you stupid asses. Do us all a favor and follow suit!!

  2. I wonder who the “white Caucus” praised today?

  3. Yarddog1

I highly suggest, since all the brothas and sistas are so taken with Cuba and the Castro brothers, that they move down there to the bissful environment.

  4. Right2thepoint

Everybody is buying in to the smoke and mirrors game being played here.

Examine the list of those who did this trip and you will see they are members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

This is being run under the CBC cover to give the race card shield of any commentary.

Cuba is not a Black issue but it is a ‘Progressive’ aka Marxist / Socialist / Communist issue.

The CPC is simply letting them label it as a CBC task so they can claim a clean Toga.

    Don’t buy it

    • Oh there is no doubt the Marxists in this country have been using black “cover” to advance their “progressive” positions. That way it always becomes a race issue when disagreement with policy comes about.

    • pdsand

Reminds me of the old “Radio Free Dixie”.

  5. jrmcdonald

Castro’s demanding a nuclear strike against America is O.K. now?

  6. Trialdog

Rep. Barbara Lee quoted as saying Castro was “very clear thinking” tells the whole story. Rep. Lee wouldn’t recognize “clear thinking” if it slapped her in the face.
This story just confirms Castro is, in fact, dead.

  7. Enthalpy

Praise be… after all the alleged racism in our country, true racism finally manifests itself in the form of the CBC. If this organization isn’t racist to its core, nothing is.

  8. ptat

How can Castro help us? Besides free cigars for everyone, all I can think of is letting us use his prison/island as our own prison/island. He and his brothers could play wardens while Obama plays president of the USA. These kids are so cute!

It is this and these types of things that are making me consider selling out and moving out of the United States. I don’t think I want to wait teh full four years to see just houw bad it can get. Yes, to consider such a thing is heartbreaking but distilled down to its bare essence, 1) I do not want any more of my hard-earned money to go to funding absolute crap and 2) THEY dion’t want me here anyhow, except to take my money and to “show me” just how “just” they plan to be. And 3) If I hate them and they hate me, I will continue to express my rights as a human being to leave. “White Flight” is not a new phenomenon. It has been going on since the 1800′s (at least) and I’ll be more than happy in some ways to let them have what’s left of this nation and from a distance, I will watch it turn into Namibia, Kenya, Botswana and let it de-evolve into the typical black-run, black organized, black-serving nation it wants to be. I include white apologists for this in the blame department and I hope they enjoy it to the fullest in their enightened, guilt-ridden, sycophantic world.

As an aside, when “black America” is fully realized, then I will watch with glee as the war against Mexico comes around and gets fought in full gang fashion.

  11. I share your pain and disgust, Rusty, if not your remedy, for reasons stated in a previous post @ 3:22am .

Instead of fleeing, I keep dreaming of a re-do, of sorts. You know, Jefferson’s statement about The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure., and all of that.

I keep focusing on our necessary steps to do it, and the forces going against us. One thing is for sure: the rabble that coalesce around the CBC, ACORN, and all of the inner-city rioters will be no match for my people, of course. What we must be mindful of is the reality that since these anti-American traitors will be on the losing end of things from practically the beginning, they will enlist the help of the Chinese, Russians, Iranians, and the Islamic Fundamentalists.

  12. Yarddog1

Rusty – It is going to get really bad before it’s over with. THEY are showing their true intent and becoming bolder by the day. We are in deep doo doo. I don’t believe that most people are even aware what’s going on. We are witnessing a turning point in our nation. If we cannot produce some leadership, grow a set and defend ourselves I am afraid all will be lost. It is a real shame that I am seeing this in the winter of my life. It will be hell to die depressed.

    • DoctorRock

Do I have to remind you again that this is “Sweetness & Light”? We’ve got 18 months to the mid-term elections, and there are two ways this will play out. The most likely is a replay of ’94 in which these honored elected representatives will find themselves either looking for work or facing indictments. Our last election was all about the economy, just like ’92. Do you think for a minute that things will improve enough in eighteen months to keep the Dems in power?
The other scenario is that this bunch will so destabilize our society, and/or generate such a crisis that we see a revolution. God forbid. But in that case it’s the useful idiots who get it first. “Be careful what you wish for”, as they say.

  13. proreason

YD: “I don’t believe that most people are even aware what’s going on. We are witnessing a turning point in our nation. If we cannot produce some leadership, grow a set and defend ourselves I am afraid all will be lost.”

    the problem in a nutshell

    • OK.. which one of you guys wants a target painted on him? Which person has no skeletons? I know I might have a few.. (depending on what remains important) But I would bear the ridicule to stand up and call it like it is… Oh yeah right.. I have been, but I am insignificant.. or not

80-90% of the folks who express opinions in here are more eminently qualified (as judging by their opine) for the position of president than the current miscreant in chief. Yet its hard to step out of the anonymity as it is easier saying what is on your mind when the IRS or PET FBI thugs don’t know who you are.

This is why I like the Tea Party activity. Though the tea parties will cause some to stand and take notice, it will be the leaders who emerge and stay forward focused that might help. If all the resistance fades after the tea parties? well.. then we are truly doomed. For it will show that none have the resolve to fight in the face of incredible odds. It would show that the American spirit has finally rested. THEN all bets are off.

DoctorRock may be right. Hopefully a replay of 94 that sticks. However, the emphasis by the administration seems to be to so destabilize the economy and constitutional apparatus that we might find ourselves in the midst of martial law before we are able to throw the bums out.

    • proreason

Jason: “OK.. which one of you guys wants a target painted on him?”

I expect that most of the regular posters on S&L and the other well-knows conservative web-sites are already on lists that the kooks are researching.

They probably know your TCP address, your email id, and your home address. For some, they have probably looked into public records already. For others, they can do it in a flash.

Anybody that decides to take a more public stance should be prepared for a shit-storm of trouble.

Somehow, I don’t think privacy, context, or “truth” will be a barrier.

After all, destroying their enemies is their job.

    • Colonel1961

Funny you should mention that – two IRS audits (different entities for which I am responsible) in two months. Coincidence I guess…

    • Jason –

While I agree with the folks here and the sentiments – I think a key is to hit back, regardless of the circumstances.

Joe the Plumber is a fine example. After the crooks from the left employed their tactics, in the end – 1 official stepped down, 3 more were fired and he has a new job and multiple paid appearences as a result. Ironically – his initial question to Bambi and goal was fulfilled in the end, through their own cannibalization. He never once wavered, ran scared, but instead made it HIS moment in life.

Never forget – the deviants pay in the end; it just takes awhile sometimes.

      Col –

Maybe you should stop the fancy math … ;)

    • Colonel1961

Methinks it wasn’t fancy enough! lol

    • Col –

      Then baffle them with Latin!!!

    • Colonel1961

      Alea iacta est mea amicus!

    • Our Rubicon has been crossed by the Caesar of our times–TCO. I look for a Cato to rally behind! Is there none?

  14. Rusty Shackleford

Well, gang, I didn’t mean for it to sound so defeatest. However, as I’ve watched since childhood the ongoing BS that apologists like to call “the black struggle” and of course the more adept ways they adopt of circumnavigating the subject to get more people to believe it’s real, when it’s really not, or if it is, it’s a self-adopted way of life, then I get completely disgusted, hateful towards the people who keep harping on it over and over until the groove in that record is worn clear through to daylight.

No problem for them, they just get another record. Or, more accurately, they’ve gone digital and thus can scream their mantra about “bad whitey” from the rooftops in HiDef and Surround Sound.

I was sick of it by 1979. So you an imagine how I feel about it now.

That old saw….”It’s not that I hate them; It’s that I hate what I’ve become BECAUSE of them” doesn’t quite cover it. It’s gotten to where I don’t and won’t engage blacks at all. Beyond the common courtesy I show anyone, it’s strictly no contact.

On the other side of the coin, I honestly can say I don’t see a lot of overt anger towards whites in my day-to-day activities and I live in South Carolina. But with that said, I have also had a hatful of experiences where the anger and hatred come out from a very thin veneer and cause me to say some very uncouth things.

In conversations in my head I chastise myself for lacking in open-minded-ness but then something happens and rising above it is again not my first choice.

Moral high ground is useless but at the same time, I refuse to lower myself to argue with idiots, be they black, white or orange with purple polka-dots.

The one commonality here, is, of course, stupidity. I have often said that the one quality I always find that has the most sex appeal in a woman is intelligence. And, going one step further, that one characteristic transcends all racial, religious, or background prejudices I may have.

But, I guess my prejudice is truly against stupidity and unfortunately, it does come in various flavors. Thus, although a universal quality, it puts me in a bigoted frame of mind and perhaps that’s my fault.

With all that said, it is defeatest for me to just say “aw screw it” and get the hell out before the place becomes overrun with that mentality that seems so pervasive in the “black culture” and before I get slammed a racist, I will, as Anne Coulter did, cite the stats that state quite clearly that black “society” is highest in violent crime, destructive crime, domestic crime and illegitimate birth rates. And, because I don’t see any indication that this trend will do anything but continue and get worse, I have no interest in living in a nation that allows it to happen because we’ve hogtied ourselves with political correctness and guilt and shame and a catastrophic awareness that merely speaking the truth will (not “could”) get us fired from our jobs, plastered all over the 6 o’clock news or the target of an NAACP agenda to be gotten rid of.

The issue is not white/black anymore and hasn’t been for a long time.

It’s about money and how much people like Al S. and J.J. can bilk the guilty white party out of before they have to retire. There’s no business like the guilt trip business.

As for the elections in 18 months, Yes, it would give me staggering amounts of pleasure to see the idiot in chief have his ass handed to him in a box every time he came up with these hopey-changey BS ideas. I have been mad at my country too, but never once felt the need to apologize for anything she ever did. And the reason for that is because someone, SOMEWHERE in charge had the nation’s best interests at heart….mostly….and I even would allow certain mistakes. That being driven from the fact that I certainly don’t know everything.

But Oblaby has proven beyond a doubt that a busted clock can be wrong 24 hours a day. That to follow up a mistake with an even bigger mistake is how nations get crippled. To ignore historical evidence and assume that “that was them…but I will do it better” is not only insane but insanely dangerous. Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing, the same way, repeatedly, expecting different results.”.

However the bad is magnified exponentially when you take money we don’t have, send it off into things we don’t need, and take it from the people who earned it and then expect everyone of them to see some sort of glowing feel-good light and think they will embrace the idea. And then, being so magnanimous with other people’s money, to give more of it to OTHER COUNTRIES with the totally ridiculous concept that they will THANK us and be GRATEFUL for it and then BE NICE to us.

Obviously….again…there is a huge disconnect in logic. I would not let this government come to my house and start taking my things and give them away to others. Why would I let them do it to the people’s money as well as mine?

And why haven’t the republicans stood up and said NO? Is it possible they are waiting for the mid-terms when the government swings heavily to the right and then can say, “Look, we tried it your way and it’s bad”?

And, finally, my cycnicism tells me that although I don’t want this to become a nation of Quakers, I am sick of the liberals constantly pushing on me to be more tolerant, more “open-minded” and more enlightened.

I know the value of hard work..and it is not communal living

I know how to better myself and it’s not because of a frikkin’ VILLAGE

I have watched how hippies deal with crises and it’s not anything I would ever do

The real irony is…these hippies who are now running the national government, who were so adamantly opposed to the government killing their buzz, are now doing it themselves.

I cannot look at them and see anything other than a bunch of losers with peace signs on their clothes and beads and still longing for the day they could burn their draft cards..and now they are making the rules and acting like spoiled, evil, rotten little children who have had their car keys taken away and are now going to “show everybody”.

Yup….bunch of angry children in governmental control. Way cool….man.

Light up another doobie and play Santa Claus with my money some more you *&%@!s

Hear you, Rusty, but I also have a little different perspective.

Blacks are just another set of people being exploited by the people behind the curtain of the Obamistration. They are a favorite target because they are so easily manipulated and have totally bought into the something for nothing culture created by the puppet-masters.

But there are plenty of others that are jerked around by The Moron’s handlers: homosexuals, feminazis, unions, teachers, hispanics, intellectuals, media idiots, youth…on and on.

Blacks are particularly grating at the moment because of nutters like the Black Caucus luxuriating in their “success”, but there are plenty of regular black people who are just fine when you get them out of range of their Reverend Wrights overseers.

The problem is the pond scum Soros’s of the world, not the guy next door…..even the guys in the hood can be good neighbors if they ever get some leadership that will tell them something other than they are exploited by whitey.

    • DGA

As we were saying yesterday, ‘white flight’ might be an option, but it’s not one I take lightly, I still believe in the USA and it’s people, always will. The majority of people here are decent and hard working. Problem is, it’s the scum on the other side that is the issue. I think of ’94 all the time, and have high hopes that that is what will happen, but what scares the crap out of me is the ACORN types who will cheat, steal and lie B. hussein obama into another term, and there might be very little we can do about it. With that unfolding, the thought of a free election that upholds the constitutional rights of the people is but a far away dream, and we are forced into whatever socialist/ communist agenda these a**holes want for us. I think that 2012 will be the decider for me on which way to go, hopefully they haven’t destroyed private property rights by then (communist) and I will have something left to leave with other than the shirt on my back.

    • Liberals Make Great Speedbumps

      proreason,

You are combining two distinctly different groups under the term “black people”. There are vast, glaring differences between Black people and niggers. I’m sorry Steve, but sometimes there just isn’t any other appropriate term.

    • mybrotherkeeper

Rusty, Thanks for sharing that. I think you have spoken for a lot of people.
My only thing I can share is about Jesus. That He’s still in control, even when we are afraid we are losing control to evil. Most of us can trust Jesus for ourselves, it’s our family that is hard. I can live in a prison camp, but imagining that happening to my kids is hard. They have not been prepared (I think) for such things like I may have.
Anyway, if you were selfish, it would not be as hard; but when you care about your descendants–that’s the rub. I guess God is big enough to take care of them, too. Anyway, maybe we need to be more careful of what we say, not out of fear, but out of wisdom. Why be thrown in a camp ten years before you should have? Maybe God had a lot more work out there in the free world for us to do, but I went and opened my big mouth so I’d feel better and got in His way.
My wife has warned me about this. Once again, it’s not due to fear, but out of wisdom. God gave us two eyes, two ears, and one mouth. This is hard for me, but I can do it; it’s just not easy for my emotional makeup.

  15. Petronius

It is indeed sad to see the US of A brought so low into disgrace. Liberals have always been “useful idiots.” But these Obamacrats have moved beyond the useful-idiots stage. This is not a simple, everyday, run-of-the-mill expression of the Liberal Death Wish. These are Bolshevik thugs, pure and simple. If there was ever any doubt about it, that doubt is now removed. But it is a further source of disgrace that there is no leader in the opposition party who has the courage to step forward and say so.

  16. woodmanthered

Normally I don’t call people names, but these people have to be brain dead. I will not believe that the better part of the black people of this country know the truth of these traitors. That they would be as upset as I am. I can’t believe that the majority of our black population wouln’t want to slap the smirk off Lee’s face. Most of the black’s that I know feel alot like I do about this country, and they have worked . Raised there families with the same values that I raised mine. They have to vote these idiots out . We must talk with our neighbors and co workers and show them the truth. Some will never listen but when we have goals that are the same, they will listen. We can’t shout at them we must talk. We can not do this alone, because half of our people could give a rats ass.

  17. 12 Gauge Rage

I live in a city that is predominantly Hispanic and hear the same liberal b.s. all the time. It’s the evil whites that are keeping the brown man down. And for the Hispanics that are hardworking, not on the government dole, and don’t buy into that oppressed race crap, they get vilified as traitors to their race. Since I’m half English and half Hispanic I get to see both sides of the fence. If MLK were alive today he’d be appalled by the black community’s stray from the faith. Or worse, they’d accuse him and his beliefs of being out of touch with reality.

    • Liberals Make Great Speedbumps

      12 Gauge,

Today to a lot of the “oppressed” in this country, MLK would be an “Uncle Tom”. I personally don’t agree with all that MLK stood for, however compared to what passes for “black leaders” today, there’s no contest.

Obama and Castro have religious beliefs in common.
Older American Cubins who managed to escape Castro will tell you how Castro took over. First their guns. In the schools, the children would sit at their lunch tables, and ordered to close their eyes and pray to God for their lunch food. Then they were told to open their eyes, and there would be no food.
Then the children were ordered to close their eyes and pray to Castro for food.
Food would be placed in front of them, and they were ordered to open their eyes. Their school material brainwashed them that Castro was God and he was great.
And the older cubans will tell how Castro would open stores and all for tourists to shop, that cubans weren’t even allowed to shop in. They were lucky to get two chickens a month for a family. Have a headache, or simple ache or pain, and they had to go to informeries and wait in line hours just to get an asprin.

And so I see great parallels, between evil god Obama and evil god Castro, and understand Obama’s admiration for Castro.
Obama has become religious leader for every nation in the world, and pretending he will be the global God that saves the world. Yep the Obomi religion will be the one world religion that all will have to practice. Nations beware. Obomi is a liar.
