Oklahoma Consultant Claims He Witnessed Cain Harassment

Predicts end of Cain Presidential campaign if woman is allowed to talk publicly.

Oklahoma political consultant Chris Wilson says if the woman behind the reported sexual harassment complaint against GOP Presidential hopeful Herman Cain is allowed to speak publicly, it’ll be the end of Cain’s run for the White House.

Interviewed today on KTOK’s Mullins in the Morning, Wilson, of Wilson-Perkins-Allen Opinion Research headquartered in Washington, D.C. explained he was a witness to the incident. "I was the pollster at the National Restaurant Association when Herman Cain was head of it and I was around a couple of times when this happened and anyone who was involved with the NRA at the time, knew that this was gonna come up."

Wilson described the woman as a low level staffer who was maybe two years out of college. "This occurred at a restaurant in Crystal City (Virginia) and everybody was aware of it," he continued. "It was only a matter of time because so many people were aware of what took place, so many people were aware of her situation, the fact she left—everybody knew with the campaign that this would eventually come up."

So we are to believe that these incidents happened "a couple of times"? And that Cain harassed this woman in front of other people? And that it was common knowledge to "anyone who was involved with the NRA at the time," and yet this is the first we are hearing about it?

Wilson said for legal reasons, he can not discuss details of the incident.

Why not? He didn’t sign any confidentiality agreements.

"But if she comes out and talks about it, like I said, it’ll probably be the end of his campaign."  The consultant said Cain is digging himself a deeper hole by challenging the woman.

So Cain should just admit her allegations are true?

He also believes it has put the Restaurant Association in a position where it will have to release the woman from her confidentialilty [sic] agreement.  "If she talks about it, I think it’ll be the end of his campaign."

Well, she certainly doesn’t seem to be any to eager to talk about it.

Here is our transcription of the audio clip of the interview with Chris Wilson and Reid Mullins:

Reid Mullins: All right, Herman Cain. You know, he even thought that at some point that he was gonna get knocked and here it is. Was this something you expected?

Chris Wilson: Well, it was, and I’ll tell you, I’m going to break a little bit of news right now on it, because I’ve actually declined to talk about this the last couple of days, and I was the pollster for the National Restaurant Association when Herman Cain was the head of it, and I’ll tell you I was actually around a couple times where this happened.

And  I just… anyone who was around the NRA at the time knew that this was going to come up. I know the woman that is being talked about. She wants to come forward now and talk, and so she’s visiting with Pete O’Kilgore, who’s the attorney for the National Restaurant Association.

My bet is, is that the NRA — and people confuse the National Rifle Association with the National Restaurant Association, which is also called the NRA — is going to have no choice but to release her from the confidentiality agreement because Herman Cain has already violated it by addressing it on the air last night. And so you’re probably going to see her on TV.

And uh, I’ll tell you at the time she was a very lower level staffer, I think she was maybe two years out of college, and this all occurred at a restaurant in Crystal City and everybody was very aware of it. And so, it is… it was only a matter of time, because so many people were aware of what took place, so many people were aware of her situation and the fact that she left after this, that it was… it was a, uh… everybody knew with the campaigns… with every campaign, that this would eventually come up.

Now the question is, is how it affects Cain and how it affects his campaign. Because I think there are several ways to deal with it. You’ve got the way that Bill Clinton dealt with it, which allowed him to get through it, although I think Democratic primary voters are more forgiving of an issue like sexual harassment or affairs outside of marriage than Republican primary voters tend to be.

Having said that, I don’t think Cain has done a good job strategically of handling it so far, and I think he’s really digging himself a deeper hole by now challenging her and probably putting her in a situation, or putting the Restaurant Association in the situation where they actually release her from the confidentiality agreement and she talks about it. Because it’s not going to be… if she does go on the air and talk about it, I think it’ll be the end of this campaign.

Reid Mullins: So did he do it? And what did he do?

Chris Wilson: Well, at that point now I’m into legal issues and I don’t want to be drawn into it specifically, but if she comes out and talks about it, it’ll probably be the end of this campaign.

Reid Mullins: My goodness. Wow. Well, there’s a little bit of breaking news for you.

We see now claim to have been an eyewitness to anything.

The AP already knows there’s nothing there. The goal is that when it’s finally clear they have nothing, the Left can tell us we don’t SEE anything, because the Republicans have gone into a big ol’ coverup.

That’s why there’s a lot of speculation about “if this comes out.”
