Cpt. Johnson Credits Holder For Calmer Night In Ferguson

From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

Six arrests made as protests in Ferguson stay small, peaceful

August 21, 2014

Six arrests were made by officers patrolling the streets of Ferguson late Wednesday and early today, Missouri Highway Patrol Capt. Ronald S. Johnson said.

Speaking at a brief press conference at 1:30 a.m., he said the protests now in their 11 night were fairly calm although an officer was hit by a bottle at one point. He said the officer was uninjured.

Probably because he was wearing riot gear. Which is part of that terrible militarization of the police that everyone bemoans.

Johnson… said the protesters were a quieter group. "We didn’t have as many of the agitators…"

Unless you count Mr. Holder. Speaking of whom…

Johnson, who is leading the security contingent, also credited the visit on Wednesday by Attorney General Eric Holder for helping lessen the tension on the streets. He said he believed the visit "let the community know their voices were heard."

It also rained in Ferguson last night. (See below.) Which probably had the most to do with the dampening of the crowds. But in any case, now we know the best way to get your voice heard by our leaders in Washington is to riot and loot.

Meanwhile, there is this report, also from an irony-proof St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

Pro-Wilson supporters evacuated for safety

By Steve Giegerich, Lilly Fowler | August 21, 2014

A pair of protesters supporting Officer Darren Wilson joined the throng of protesters supporting the 18-year-old he killed Wednesday night in Ferguson, turning the mood of some in the crowd ugly.

So much for diversity. So much for tolerance. So much for letting voices be heard.

Two people showed up at the protests shortly after 8 p.m. carrying signs of support for Wilson. Many in the crowd shouted at them but took no other action. The mood of the crowd turned ugly, and the rain started falling about 8:30 p.m. — just as tensions peaked. Many protesters took shelter under store awnings.

One of the pro-Michael Brown protesters said of the pair: "They’re trying to incite a riot."

Isn’t irony ironic? Besides, didn’t we just learn that rioting is the best way to get your voices heard?

Police evacuated the pro-Wilson demonstrators from the scene for their own safety. The protesters declined to give their names.

The media must have been very disappointed.

As the rain eased after several minutes, protesters returned to West Florissant and chanted, "We’re young, we’re strong, we’re marching all night long." …

Unless it starts to rain again.

They’re marching all night long because none of them have a job. Another “fundamental transformation” of America by the President.

So, you’re saying that we, the taxpayers are paying them to go out and protest.

At least, that’s my uptake since they really don’t seem too concerned about getting bread on the table. And how many of these protestors would we classify as “obsese” (Using, of course, the socialists’/leftists’ own cirteria, as endorsed by her-majesty-the-queen’s “Let’s Move” programs and school lunch disaster(s).

So….basically, they are well-fed, well-clothed, well-housed people who are angry that “whitey” is taking all their rights away?

As the French soldier lamented in “Monty Python And The Holy Grail”

“Ah fahrt in yourrr generallll dy-reckshion”
