Debbie Wasserman Schultz Invests In Swiss Banks

DNC chairperson, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, appeared on Fox News Sunday and repeated the Democrat Party’s attack on Mitt Romney’s alleged Swiss bank accounts.

Ms. Wasserman-Schultz opined:

I’d really like to see Mitt Romney release more than one year of tax records. Because there’s been disturbing reports recently that he’s got a Bermuda corporation, a secretive Bermuda corporation that no one knows anything about, investments in the Caymans, investments in — he’s got a Swiss bank account, and Americans need to ask themselves why does an American businessman need a Swiss bank account and secretive investments like that. It’s just a thought I’d like to leave folks with.

As we and others have pointed out, Mitt Romney’s finances have been in a blind trust since 2003. He has no knowledge or control over where his investments are kept.

Meanwhile, the Weekly Standard has found out that Ms. Schultz has her own Swiss bank accounts:

Dem. Chair Invested in Swiss Banks, Foreign Drug Companies, and the State Bank of India

Daniel Halper | July 10, 2012

Disclosure forms reveal that Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a member of Congress from Florida, previously held funds with investments in Swiss banks, foreign drug companies, and the state bank of India. This revelation comes mere days after the Democratic chair attacked presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for holding money in Swiss bank accounts in the past…

But disclosure forms reveal that in 2010, Wasserman Schultz invested between $1,001-$15,000 in a 401k retirement fund run by Davis Financial Fund. As the fund discloses, it is invested in the Julius Baer Group Ltd. and the State Bank of India GDR Ltd., as well as other financial, insurance, bank institutions.

"The Julius Baer Group is the leading Swiss private banking group, focusing exclusively on the demands of sophisticated private clients, family offices and external asset managers from around the world," its website explains

Similarly, according to disclosure forms from 2004, Wasserman Schultz had holdings in the Fidelity Advisor Overseas Fund. That fund is invested in HSBC bank (a British financial institution), Hengdeli Holdings (a Hong Kong watch company), Novo Nordisk (a Danish drug company), Volkswagen (a German auto company), Rakuten (a Japanese shipping business), Richemont Cie Financiere (a Swiss luxury goods company), and many others

And bear in mind, Ms. Wasserman Schultz has these investments in a 401K, not a blind trust. There is nothing stopping her from knowing about these overseas investments and from removing her funds.

All this comes in addition to Wasserman Schultz’s refusal to disclose her own tax returns, despite continuously calling on Romney to do so.

And, after Romney has actually disclosed as many of his tax returns as anyone else.

But as we have often said, if is weren’t for double standards, some Democrats would have no standards at all.

Typical Dimocrap rhetoric; Do as I say, not as I do.

The public needs to know the facts but with the Lame Stream Media only releasing the “facts” that they want to most of the public who can’t be bothered to check things out by themselves will never know the truth.

Good sweet Jesus, Debbie. Do you even hear yourself?

She can’t hear herself. She must’ve gotten mayo in her ear the last time she “did” her hair. I saw part of that interview she did last week on Fox News Sunday. The woman (and I use the term only because it’s the closest description I can come up with for… her?) doesn’t even hear what the interviewers say to her. She has a list of talking points written on her arm in crayon or sharpie, and no matter what she is asked or told she WILL get those talking points out. Whether they make sense, whether they’re on topic, whether they are true… or not. She will spout progressive garbage. Actually she is perfect to lead the left wing. Making sense and speaking truth are NOT job requsite for anyone on the left. Being thick as a brick, and a pathological liar are resume enhancements for the leader of the Dumb-o-crats.

If there were only medication for the disease that is liberalism. Eh, they’d probably make it illegal… or tax it out of the realm of affordability.

Beltway Jay and DC Debbie are good for comic relief anytime.
