Dem Front Group Pushes Obama-Care ‘Sign Ups’

From an oblivious Washington Post:

Groups go door-to-door to encourage enrollment in Obamacare

By Sandhya Somashekhar [sic] | August 1, 2013

MIAMI BEACH — … Enroll America [is] a nonprofit group that is fielding a small army to spread the word about Obamacare. In recent weeks, President Obama’s signature health-care law entered a new phase as hundreds of advocates began the arduous task of identifying the uninsured and coaxing them, one by one, to sign up for coverage.

In fact, Enroll America is doing a lot more than spreading the word about Obama-Care. It is a radical front group that is run by the usual suspects. (See below.) By the way, Enroll America is also a 501c3. But you can bet the IRS has never scrutinized them.

For the law to succeed, groups such as Enroll America, whose officials include several veterans of Obama campaigns, will need to cajole millions of Americans, including many healthy ones, to enter the insurance market. It could be a tough sell. Confusion about the law is rampant… It’s also labor-intensive… Enroll America, expects to talk to each person seven to eight times to encourage enrollment in a health plan.

But that’s not pestering or harassment.

“Obviously, we’ve got to find the uninsured, but we’ve got plenty of examples of finding the uninsured and letting them slip away,” said Stan Dorn, a senior fellow at the Urban Institute and a supporter of the law. He said such campaigns work only if the volunteers take the extra step of filling out the people’s forms — an even more laborious role that Enroll America does not plan to undertake

So these paid ‘volunteers’ are even going to fill out the forms.

White House officials, who aim to sign up 7 million people nationwide for coverage by next year, have said [Florida] is among their top targets because it has the nation’s third-largest uninsured population after California and Texas.

Florida also got the highest number of electoral votes, after California and Texas (and in the bag) New York.

Over the weekend, more than 100 volunteers with Enroll America knocked on about 4,000 doors around the state.

Among the volunteers was [Laura] Botero, who carried a list of names and addresses generated by a “microtargeting” tool developed by Enroll America, the biggest nonprofit working on Obamacare enrollment. The organization, using census data, commercially available consumer databases and demographic information such as age, race and income, developed a formula to determine the likelihood that someone is uninsured

And, of course, they are using information from Google, NSA and the IRS as well.

Botero, 33, said she is passionate about good health. A Colombia native whose mother-in-law pays for her health insurance, she said she is stunned that so many Americans lack coverage…

So is Ms. Botero is an illegal alien?

A question that came up repeatedly as she approached people was: How much will insurance cost?

Botero didn’t have an answer, because the cost depends on the person. But that wasn’t her job anyway. Her goal is to steer people to the government Web site or phone line, where trained guides can walk them through their options based on their income and other factors

Besides, everyone knows Obama-Care is going to be free.

“Oh, that’s Obamacare?” Jean Louis Chrisn said, studying the pamphlet Botero handed him. The 35-year-old native of Haiti, who has been in this country for five years, said he has never had insurance because he never knew how to go about it…

Botero noted his name and address. The information will be entered into Enroll America’s database, which means Botero or another Enroll America volunteer will be knocking on his door one day soon.

Excellent. Sign up as many illegal aliens as possible.

From Discover The Networks:

Founded in March 2010 [sic], Enroll America (EA) describes itself as a “nonpartisan” 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to “maximize the number of uninsured Americans who enroll in health coverage made available by the Affordable Care Act,” more popularly known as “Obamacare.” …

EA’s founder and chairman, Ronald F. Pollack, is also the executive director of Families USA, a healthcare advocacy group that strongly supports the domestic agendas of President Barack Obama

Families USA’s board of directors is composed of leaders from "prominent progressive organizations," including the President of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum and the Chair of Reform Immigration for America, the President of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), and the Co-Chair of Win Without War, and the CEO of the George Soros-funded Common Cause

EA’s president, Anne Filipic, was a senior staffer with the Obama For America campaign in 2008. She later served as deputy executive director of the Democratic National Committee; as an Obama White House official under Valerie Jarrett; as an aide to Health & Human Services (HHS) director Kathleen Sebelius; and as deputy director of President Obama’s Office of Public Engagement, where she networked with community organizers.

Enroll America is a prime beneficiary of an Obamacare stipulation that provides millions of dollars in grants to hire—at rates as high as $48 per hour—community activists and organizers to serve as “navigators” who help individuals enroll in health-insurance plans provided by state or federal exchanges. The healthcare law specifies that these “navigators” must be attuned to the racial, ethnic and cultural sensitivities of “underserved communities”—a requirement which, by the calculus of the Obama administration, is best fulfilled by activists who embrace identity politics…

EA president Anne Filipic, for her part, expected her organization to spend some $100 million—much of which would be federal money—on the enrollment effort.

Also in the spring of 2013, controversy was sparked by reports that the EA-affiliated navigators who were helping people fill out healthcare application forms, were simultaneously presenting those applicants with voter-registration forms. As healthcare policy expert Betsy McCaughey puts it, they were using the healthcare enrollment process as a vehicle to “steer the uninsured into the Democratic Party.”

Equally controversial was the revelation, in May 2013, that Kathleen Sebelius had been actively soliciting, on Enroll America’s behalf, large financial donations from companies in the healthcare field as well as patient advocacy groups, churches, and other charitable organizations—all to help EA’s effort to implement Obamacare…

EA’s advisory council is composed of more than 50 organizations, including the AARP, Health Care for America Now, MomsRising, the NAACP, the National Council of La Raza, the National Urban League, Planned Parenthood, the Service Employees International Union, the U.S. Public Interest Research Group, and the Young Invincibles.

Notice how La Raza and other amnesty groups are major players in Enroll America. Why is that, do you think? We’ve been assured that Obama-Care will never be given to illegal aliens.

Between this, non-citizen poll workers, ACORN being put in charge of ObamaCare and lord knows what else … we’re watching the Ernst Rohm chapter in funding Brown Shirts.

Sturmabteilung (SA) were funded by Rohm being able to divert government funds intended for the army to this early version of political thugs. Though the SA was purged in the 1934 ‘Blood Purge’ so the next phase could rise – the SS – a defiant and rebellious culture which encouraged seizure of power had to give way to a community organization approach such as canvassing and fundraising, which was resented by the SA as Kleinarbeit, “little work,” which had normally been performed by women before the seizure of power.

ACORN and SEIU won’t listen but they are being set up to be the thugs. Once power is seized they will be purged. Violently, and bloody. Other ‘community organizing’ groups will similarly be denounced and purged.

    Or, History has no value.

The parallels are frightening GBJ. Really scary.

      Let’s not forget…

On July 2nd, 2008, Obama delivered a speech in Boulder, Colorado in which he promised the creation and establishment of a “Civilian National Security Force.” He further promised it would be “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded as the US Military.”
