Rep. Hoyer: Vote on Iraq will be limited
WASHINGTON - A House vote on Iraq this week will be limited to the question of supporting President Bush’s troop escalation, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said Sunday.
Hoyer’s comment drew a vehement objection from House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, who said House Democrats had promised to allow a vote this week on a Republican alternative opposing a cutoff of money for the war.
Hoyer, D-Md., said such a vote would occur later.
"Live up to your word," Boehner told Hoyer. Democrats, Boehner said, "won’t even let us have a substitute. … Give us a vote this week."
The lawmakers appeared on "Meet the Press" on NBC.
Surely this threat by Democrat Majority to block debate on the Iraq War will be reported in countless banner headlines for the next few days.
(Just kidding, of course.)

Why does this remind me of the Peanut’s cartoon strip where Lucy[democrats] is holding the football for Charlie Brown[Republicans] to kick and just as he gets to the ball , she pulls it away every time, but he is always willing to try to kick it again, knowing all the time what is going to happen.

So the debate….so effing what? That’s what they do….talk talk talk…no action. Nothing good, nothing productive…only back stabbing politics and a grand stand ability to get a sound bite on TV showing they are tough on regulation blenders in elementary schools.
To what end? They are going to block debate? Ohhhhhhh, geeeeeeeee, scares me to death! Debate about what? Their opinion? Their smarmy good for nothing back stabbing crap of a job they arent doing? Debate the reason they are there! Yeah, debate how it is that they “work” for less than 200 days a year, and accomplish literally nothing! NOTHING!
They are clowns…every last one of them. Stupid little kids pulling frat pranks on each other, professionally offended by everything, outraged at the opposition’s statement d jour, railing against or for whatever the polls say they should be outraged at….doing nothing. Nothing good, nothing productive….and certainly everything but leading this country. No wonder they hate Bush….he is soldiering on without them….because he cares about America. and even he is getting nothing done….why? Because congress is blocking debates…..to debate….talk talk talk talk talk….no action. They actually really suck. If this were the private sector…they would all be fired for incompetence…and breach of promise. They are actors….clowns…entertainers.
They are everything but United States Congressmen and Senators.

Seems to me I remember this asshat and his master piglosi saying very emphatically that the “no debate” rule was only applicable to those bills being pushed down our throats in the 1st “100″ hours, and that only because they had already been debated when the Repubs where in control.
This people are liars, liars and more liars. You can believe nothing they say, you cannot believe their promises. Remember that in the next election. And the pussified Republicans do nothing about it…..

Steny. That’s an interesting name. I believe it is an old family name that means “the cattle are dying”.
