Democrats Insist Redskins Change Name (Again)

From The Hill:

Lewis, Holmes Norton urge Washington Redskins to change team name

By Bob Cusack | March 5, 2013

Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) and D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D) are urging the Washington Redskins to seriously consider changing the team’s name.

Lewis, a civil-rights hero, told The Hill that “we have to be sensitive” to the concerns that the name is offensive to some people. He said the NFL team “should consider” a name change, pointing out that he has been asked similar questions about the Atlanta Braves’s “Tomahawk Chop,” which has attracted criticism from Native American groups.

You have to hand it to the left. They never give up. They never let go.

In a phone interview on Monday, Norton said, “Nobody would let a comparable name to blacks stand.”

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) member noted that the Washington Wizards used to be called the Bullets, adding that the team enjoyed goodwill for the name change and that the Redskins would benefit similarly.

Look at the good that ‘goodwill’ has done the Wizards. Besides, their new name sounds an awful lot like the KKK to us.

By the way, when is the Congressional Black Caucus going to change its racist name?

The controversy over the Redskins name has intensified in recent weeks. Washington, D.C., Mayor Vincent Gray suggested a team name would need to be made if the team wants to move its home games from Maryland to the nation’s capital.

So the Redskins are being blackmailed. (If one can still use that term these days.)

In January, Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.) told Roll Call that the team should find a new name.

Cole, a member of the Chickasaw Nation, said at the time, “It’s not a term of respect and it’s needlessly offensive to a large part of our population.”

Asked if she thinks the Redskins will eventually change, Norton responded, “I certainly do. But nothing happens without pushing and shoving … I am a fan of the Redskins. I’m just not a fan of their name.” …

We still don’t understand why the Redskins play it safe and change their name to the ‘Elizabeth Warrens.’ Nobody could possibly object to that.

Is Tom Cole (R-Okla.) out of his mind when his own state spent a fortune at the insistence of his own tribe to put an Indian with a bow and arrow on top of their capital. When they have spent millions on an Indian project that goes unfinished because the Indians themselves wanted it, but don’t want to donate their own money from gambling, oil, and real estate.

Is Tom Cole nuts when his state of Oklahoma has Indian historical art, museums, and faux villiage to visit to show the authenticity of culture and way of living of it’s Native Indians throughout the the state.

Tom Cole refers to Oklahoma as Cherokee Nation.

Tom Cole has puffed to long on his peace pipe and having hallucinations of too much peyote, to
crow caw and show such hypocrisy. Cole can’t possibly be a real Indian.

Check out Tom Cole’s wild feathered half nude Indian drawing his bow and arrow ready to strike that took years and a fortune to build. No doubt if that statue came alive it would aim at Tom Cole for showing such of his heritage.

Shocking picture of Tom Cole’s statue.

Lay off the peace pipe idiot. And no I’m not an Indian, but I believe every Indian would agree with me that Tom Cole is a disgrace to take such action.

oops. Correction. I described the wrong State’s Native American Wild Indian Dome.
Scroll Down to Oklahoma’s half-naked Native Indian “Warrior with long sharp spear.

      “The Statue

This bronze statue of an American Indian warrior was raised to the top of the new Oklahoma capitol dome on June 7, 2002. The dedication ceremony included music and dance performed by many Native Americans and a traditional Indian blessing.”

Oh my. Even an Indian religious ceremonies and dances are done at Oklahoma’s capital and I doubt they need a permit.

Interesting is Oklahoma Indians even run the gun sale shows !!!
Doesn’t that make the Indians appear violent in nature?

    • canary says:

Look at Tom Cole’s State Flag and scroll down and look at the violent Indian kneeling on the ground ready to shoot the white man down with his drawn bow and arrow.

To think all Oklahomans no matter what their race, religion, or color are forced to have such a violent license plate attached to their personal vehicles.

To think if a 7 year old made an arrow or tommyhawk out of their school provided “pop tart” it would be encased in glass and put in a museum.

To think Oklahomans are forced to display these. bigotry

Oklahoma Indian Symbols (Flag and License Plate…)

Oh my. The Indians in Oklahoma were able to get the public schools to have archery as long as they meet the quota of having less qualified with poor aim on their teams.
