Dems Hide Out In Bar With Leprechaun

From the Chicago Tribune:

Wisconsin State Sen. Jim Holperin, D-Conover, talks outside the Clock Tower Resort in Rockford, Ill. on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011.

Rockford plays refuge, at least for a while

February 18, 2011 | By Rex. W. Huppke, Tribune reporter

ROCKFORD — For a brief time Thursday, a Rockford hotel and water park took on a circuslike atmosphere as a band of runaway Wisconsin legislators milled about the lobby and parking lot, a news chopper hovered overhead and a TV reporter chased a leprechaun

Employees at the Clock Tower Resort, a sprawling facility just off Interstate Highway 90, were prepping for the night’s main event, the Chocoholic Frolic, when the legislators showed up, followed swiftly by a media horde, according to witnesses.

Notice these Democrat Senators fled to Illinois. Where the Illinois lame duck legislature just raised state taxes 66%. And where the governor now plans to add nearly a thousand new government employees to the Illinois payroll.

A hotel official said the politicians never checked in and left around midafternoon. But they were there long enough for a couple of protesters to catch up, including one who stood in the resort’s circular entrance drive holding a "Don’t Tread On Me" sign.

Hopefully, more and more politicians will learn that you can run but you can’t hide from the Tea Party.

"I went up to him and said, ‘What are you doing? People are coming here for a chocolate event,’" said a security guard who declined to give his name.

The bartender at the hotel bar said the resort’s Irish pub was preparing for St. Patrick’s Day and had a person dressed as a leprechaun. When a TV reporter asked her if she had talked to any of the legislators, she told him to ask the leprechaun, and the reporter swiftly chased down the costumed character.

You know, this seems to be very fitting, when you think about it. Though a circus clown would have been even more appropriate.

Once the lawmakers left, locals seemed unsure where they might have sneaked off to. Some believed they were still in Rockford, but a survey of other nearby hotels and eateries came up empty.

Nothing at the Holiday Inn. No sign of cheesehead senators at the Hilton. Big Al’s Bar wasn’t a hideout either, and the locals there seemed politely uninterested

Such statesmen.

We’ve been lectured about “having skin in the game,” about “civility,” we’ve been told that “elections have consequences,” etc., etc., by the liberal elite. Now that the duly elected officials are doing what they have been elected to do, the libs quit working (teachers and dem state congressmen) so the parliamentary process cannot move forward. Where have the cries of “obstructionism” gone? Rather than to engage in the process, the liberals refuse to allow the process to happen: no debate, no deals, no compromise, just “our way – or no way.” The tyranny of the minority is on full display.

The unions have fed at the trough of the working public for so long that the mere thought of having to contribute a dime toward their pensions and health insurance is enough to make them take to the streets?! I declare shennanigans. These are nothing more than spoiled children [finally] being told “no” by mom & dad. They need their bottoms spanked and to be sent to their rooms to think about what they have done. This whole fetid mess makes my blood boil. I could go on about this at far greater length, but decorum prevents me from doing so.

The rats are going to need more than a pot of gold and the luck of the Irish to ever see majority power in that state again.

    • JohnMG says:

Not necessarily, t.n. My wife is originally from Wisconsin and has watched in dis-belief as such shennanigans are repeated through the years. It seems the people have a short attention span.

My thought is, the Democrat senators have deliberately abandoned their sworn duties, and as such are perpetrating a fraud upon the people they’ve sworn to serve. (I know, I know. When has taking an oath ever meant anything to a Democrat?) Would not obtaining income under such conditions be unlawful?

Would it be grounds for issuing a warrant for arrest? Could such warant be served immediately upon their return to Wisconsin? Could bond be set extremely high and be made only in cash? I think these turds need to be bitch-slapped into a stupor, and kept there until November of 2012.

I have nothing but utter contempt for each of them.

Wisconsin Dimocrap senators, they’re magically deceitful!

It is simple – the Dems are damned if they do (vote for the changes to Union reform) and damned if they don’t (violating the balanced budget requirement of WI law) – so like true statesmen – they run away.

The Gov should fire every teacher who called in sick – and institute Impeachment proceedings for each of these lawmakers – for holding up the business of the State.

Reagan did it to the air traffic controllers and got re-elected – Standing up for the truth, the law and what you were voted in for is always the best way for American gov to function. Conservatism works every time

Egypt waves Iranian warships to sail through as they celebrate 1 week of freedom. Meanwhile, Obama campaign parties from California to Oregon, and Dems party on chocoholic.

msnbc.news: Egypt OKs Iran warships through Suez Canal
Israel called it a provocation; canal official said only war could have blocked request
Feb 18 2011 CAIRO – Egypt has agreed to let two Iranian naval vessels transit the Suez Canal,…

An Iranian diplomat has said the vessels were heading to Syria…

Iranian diplomats have offered assurances that the two ships wouldn’t have weapons or nuclear or chemical material, MENA stated…

It would be the first time since Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution that Iranian warships pass through the Suez Canal, which links the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.

Syria is one of Israel’s neighboring adversaries…
Iran is a sponsor of the Lebanese guerrilla group Hezbollah.

So, add story w/above Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Iran’s timing of warships with Hezbollah terrorist.

‘Syrian embassy aided Hezbollah prisoner’s escape’

    By JPOST.COM STAFF & AP 2/17/2011

The Syrian embassy in Cairo aided Egyptian Hezbollah president Mohammed Yousef Mansour, known as Sami Chehab, in leaving Egypt…

Chehab, exploiting the chaos that had erupted in Egypt during demonstrations…, had escaped the prison where he was serving a 15-year sentence for planning terrorist activities on Egyptian soil…

…The Syrian embassy then issued Chehab a new passport – replacing one that “was lost” -…
..members of the Sudanese Hezbollah cell helped usher him to the international airport. From there, Chehab flew to Syria, and crossed over into Lebanon.

Chehab appeared in a Beirut rally Wednesday, waving Hezbollah flags and raising his hands in a V-victory sign.

… Mansour was among the thousands of prisoners across Egypt who are believed to have escaped or been set free shortly after the revolt…

sure, only war could legally have stopped the Iranian warships, and only peaceful protests allow thousands of terrorists to be on streets waving their banners

Just a reminder to y’all that Democrats have tried the “fleeing the scene” trick before.

In 2003, our wonderful Texas Democrats fled to Ardmore, Oklahoma on a rented bus. Governor Perry sent the Texas Rangers after them, but the Democratic governor of Oklahoma would not allow the Rangers to cross into his state. So Perry waited, and while he waited, he informed those Democrats that they would not be allowed to use state credit cards to pay for their sojourn nor would they be reimbursed for their expenses in Oklahoma, including the bus that took them there. Then he stationed the Rangers at the border and when the Dems came home, they came back to the state capitol building via a police escort.

And what did the Dems gain in Texas? Well, in 2003 the Democrats represented 88 of 151 Texas House seats. Today, they represent 49 since three of their members have jumped ship and joined the GOP. One Texas Democrat said they were not just losing seats in Texas, they were becoming an endanged species in Texas.

These Wisconsin union members are not the bulk of that state. And the taxpayers, who are footing the bill for their paychecks, are not going to forget these actions on either their part, or the part of the 14 Fleebaggers who are now hiding out in Illinois, ala Al Capone.

And why is Ricard Tumka (union thug and criminal) there? Because Governor Walker wants to make union dues voluntary. Trumka is afraid a drop in membership will affect his tony $260,781/yr salary (plus expenses, of course).

The largest union in Wisconsin is the AFSCME. And what does their International President, Gerald McEntee, make? Oh, just a paltry $479,328/yr (plus expenses, of course).

The Illinois TEA Partiers should organize a “Find the 14 Flee Baggers” movement and let the nation know where these cowards are hiding.

Oh what I would give for that ability of coming up with just the right word/connotation – May I use this (will credit you) ?

      Love It.

Time to turn the tables on the oh-so-civil li(e)brals!

    Mr_Bill & Ward Mama.

Firing the teachers that went on strike is an excellent idea to put Obama’s winking comments that teachers who do poor at their jobs should be fired. Obama was once one of those worthless teachers before getting into politics.

  8. Mithrandir says:

Actually, I know where this place is. It’s just across the border from Wisconsin, maybe a few minutes drive away. It’s not really hiding out. Al Capone’s hide-out in northern Wisconsin was a true hide-a-way. The police should go down there and arrest them no matter what part of the country they are in.

Make a new law, you work for the gov’t and protest, it’s the same day you lose your job, no matter if you are elected or hired, or appointed, you are done.

Lived in Rockford for a while. Nice community…or was. Nothing really left except big box stores and some really good hospitals.

Used to be manufacturing center – produced most the fasteners in world. Now ghost town that has the dubious honor of having the one of the highest unemployment rates in the country (at least in part of 2010) http://www.rrstar.com/carousel/x645472467/Unemployment-rate-increase-in-Rockford-the-nation-s-highest

“ROCKFORD — Local economists weren’t the only ones shocked by the jump to the Rockford area’s January unemployment rate. It was the highest year-over-year increase in the nation. The metro area’s unemployment rate was 19.7 percent, a 5.8 percentage point increase, higher than all 372 metro areas in the country, according to an analysis released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics…

Rockford also had the fifth-highest unemployment rate of all metro areas, outpacing rust belt mainstays such as Flint, Mich., Elkhart-Goshen, Ind., and Detroit.”

Like many others I know, I moved to find employment elsewhere as the are no opportunities left in Rockford. It’s what happens when government officials are more concerned with ideology then fixing problems.

Puking Pelosi says she proud of the traitors. And the Puking Obama President was in California meeting up with Facebook’s owner, Twitter, Apple, Yahoo, etc. owners.

The Sob puke pres no doubt making sure Facebook shuts down if Americans get on there saying to protest to get his sorry bum out, even though his own Democrats lawmakers on strike. Traitors.

The Hill: Pelosi says she’s ‘proud’ of Wisconsin Democrats who fled
    By Russell Berman – 02/18/11

… Pelosi told The Hill she also stands behind the state legislators who fled and are now reportedly being sought by police.

“I saw some of them speak on TV, and they were very proud of the action that they took. I’m very proud of what they are doing,” she said. “They’re standing up for the rights of America’s workingmen and -women to have a voice at the table about their jobs and their futures, so yes, I support them.”

Pelosi laughed off a question about whether she would ever lead House Democrats out of the capital in protest of the Republican majority. “Would we have to go to another country?” she quipped. “We’re national.”

“Would we have to go to another country?” she quipped. “We’re national.”

No, it would be nice for the day she and Obama wish they lived in another country. Obama always has the back-up possibility of a trashy reality show to cash in on. A Camera showing him get up in the morning, mean & nasty as his early to rise wife described her night-owl husband. Down right mean.
