Dems To Cut Cash To Reps Behind In Polls

From a deeply concerned New York Times:

Democrats Plan Political Triage to Retain House

WASHINGTON — As Democrats brace for a November wave that threatens their control of the House, party leaders are preparing a brutal triage of their own members in hopes of saving enough seats to keep a slim grip on the majority.

Perhaps, given the tremendous unpopularity of the ‘Obama-care,’ the Democrats should refrain from using medical metaphor. Just a word to the (un)wise.

In the next two weeks, Democratic leaders will review new polls and other data that show whether vulnerable incumbents have a path to victory. If not, the party is poised to redirect money to concentrate on trying to protect up to two dozen lawmakers who appear to be in the strongest position to fend off their challengers

In effect, the Democrats are calling for ‘death panels’ for those who are too far behind in their races.

Representatives John M. Spratt Jr. of South Carolina, chairman of the Budget Committee, and Earl Pomeroy of North Dakota, who is seeking a 10th term, are among the senior Democrats who have appeared to gain little ground in the summer months in the toxic political environment

That’s odd. To us, the political environment seems healthier than it has seemed in years.

To hold the line against Republicans, the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, issued an urgent plea for members in safe districts to help their endangered colleagues by contributing money. She called out Democrats who were delinquent on paying their party dues and instructed members with no re-election worries to tap into a combined $218 million from their campaign accounts to help save their majority…

Good luck with that. Democrats are famous for sitting on their war chests. Nancy Pelosi herself, comes to mind.

A national campaign trumpeting Democratic accomplishments on health care, education and Wall Street regulation has given way to a race-by-race defensive strategy…

Gee, we wonder why?

Nearly four dozen Democrats are broadcasting television advertisements — far more by Labor Day than in previous election cycles.

President Obama is adding more fund-raisers to his schedule, traveling to Florida and Minnesota over the next six weeks to try to build on the House Democrats’ shrinking financial advantage over Republicans. Mr. Obama intends to increase his efforts to draw a contrast with Republicans as he does more campaigning in the coming weeks and tries to energize the party’s core voters.

While several Democratic candidates have more money in the bank than their rivals, Democrats fear that outside Republican advocacy groups will step in and fill the gap. They are watching to see if interest groups and other constituencies increase their donations to Republicans in the hopes of winning access and influence should the House change hands…

As always, the Democrats have the money and the media on their side.

And even so, they are deathly afraid that, despite all of their advantages, someone will still be able to get out the truth about them.

I want dingleBarry out there and campaigning for the struggling, wheezing on their death bed dems.

The question for any Democrat who is trumpeting voting against national health care is “Did you vote for Pelosi?”. If they did, they voted for national heath care, and TARP II, and the GM bailout, etc.

Ain’t it great to have such a wonderfully loyal support system if you’re a Dim and ain’t cutting the mustard?

Talk about eating your own young.

God it’s great to see and fun to watch!

It’s been the case for years that writers of television shows and movies have been acutely aware that the bad guys will bail on each other in order to save their own skin. What is equally impressive is the fact that they never seem to pick up on who the bad guys are in real life. Here we have life imitating art and I’m sure there are socialists in hollyweird who are just astounded.

      “Why would they DO that?!”

The answer is quite simple. Those in the democrat party are aligned by emotion and are fed the same way. They elect figureheads, not leaders. They vote for who makes them feel the most cool, not the one they may not like but know will do the best job. All my life, I’ve read an re-read the love affair with Kennedy and the first TV debate where Nixon is portrayed as “pasty and sweating” and Kennedy, freshly tanned and having put on some weight due to medication for his health problems and how he looked so glamorous. None of the historical articles I’ve ever read center on any of the issues; Just appearances.

So, lefties are looking for an American Idol to lead the nation and conservatives are looking for someone with character, intelligence, experience, a balanced personality, depth, understanding, wisdom, etc etc. The proof is that the election appears to be won on packaging. McCain did himself absolutely no favors but I’m fearful that even if he was president, we’d still be eating nationalized healthcare for breakfast, lunch and dinner anyhow. Congress would’ve done an end-run around him.

But, “would’a, could’a, should’a” are the three most useless words in the English language. In any case, just like hollyweird, boy barry and the deaftones may have been the big flash in the pan new thing but again, just like hollyweird, they are probably closer to abandoning him/them than even they may realize. Just as soon as they can latch onto the next really big (effing) thing, they’ll be on their way.

That picture is a big ‘ol steamin’ pot ‘o ugly!

This is what you get when you elect high school nerds hell-bent on punishing the rest of us for teasing them. I mean, take another close look at that picture…..any of those people popular in school—ever? Bleech! Who votes for these people!

Pelosi undoubtedly likes to keep Rosa de Lauro around. She makes San Fran Nan look like Hedy Lamarr by comparison.
