Dems Restore God, Jerusalem Despite Votes

From a surprisingly critical Associated Press:

Democrats change platform to add God, Jerusalem

By JOSH LEDERMAN and JULIE PACE | Wednesday Sept 5, 2012

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Needled by Mitt Romney and other Republicans, Democrats hurriedly rewrote their convention platform Wednesday to add a mention of God and declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel after President Barack Obama intervened to order the changes.

They certainly weren’t ‘needled’ by the mainstream news media. All three of the networks ignored the deletion of God, though ABC and CBS did mention Jerusalem.

The embarrassing reversal was compounded by chaos and uncertainty on the convention floor. Three times Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the convention chairman, called for a voice vote on the changes and each time the yes and no votes seemed to balance each other out. On the third attempt, Villaraigosa ruled the amendments were approved — triggering boos from many in the audience.

Any objective listener would say the ‘nays’ had it, and the move to restore God and Jerusalem was voted down. But the teleprompter already said that the motion passed, so what could Mayor Villaraigosa do?

But we have all gotten used to seeing the Obama administration and Democrats ‘rule’ against the will of the people.

The episode exposed tensions on Israel within the party…

Tension as in the Democrat Party is now the home of American anti-Semitism. (Just like it has always been.)

"There was no discussion. We didn’t even see it coming. We were blindsided by it," said Noor Ul-Hasan, a Muslim delegate from Salt Lake City, who questioned whether the convention had enough of a quorum to even amend the platform.

Uh huh.

The language in the platform — a political document — does not affect actual U.S. policy toward Israel. The administration has long said that determining Jerusalem’s status is an issue that should be decided in peace talks by Israelis and Palestinians…

In fact, the Obama administration does not officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Something Mitt Romney has pledged to change.

Obama intervened directly to get the language changed both on Jerusalem and to reinstate God in the platform, according to campaign officials who insisted on anonymity to describe behind-the-scenes party negotiations. They said Obama’s reaction to the omission of God from the platform was to wonder why it was removed in the first place…

What a laugh. According to other media reports, Obama signed off on the Democrat platform. But he never takes responsibility for anything. Ever.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., the party chairman, said both the God and Jerusalem omissions were "essentially a technical oversight." She insisted in a CNN interview there had been no discord on the floor and said the vote definitely met the two-thirds threshold…

Proving once again that she is a pathological liar.

Added to the Democratic platform was a declaration that Jerusalem "is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations. It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths." …

Again, the Obama administration does not take this position.

Also restored from the 2008 platform was language calling for a government that "gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential." …

Wow. What a full-throated endorsement God. No wonder it almost killed them to say it.

Yes, but will God restore Democrats in His Platform?

      Good point, RB!

How many of the Ten Commandments could the Democrats support?

Hmmm? Let’s compare the Democrat’s platform with God’s platform : Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21.

      1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

      — Nope. The divine Nerobama is their first god.

      2. Thou shalt not make any graven image or likeness, and shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them.

      — Nope. They have pictures of him everywhere, and bow down to him, figuratively and literally (Brian Williams). If you don’t believe they worship him, you haven’t been watching very closely.

      3. Not take the Lord’s name in vain.

      — Fat chance.

      4. Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy.

      — No way, Jose. The sabbath is just another golf-day-and-chickens-coming-home-to-roost day. And when everyday is Golf Day and Payback Day, when everyday is about the satisfaction of his prejudices, his spite, and his malice through the wounding or destruction of others, of his “enemies,” are you really honoring the sabbath at any point during the week?

      5. Honour thy father and thy mother.

      — Check. After all, they were both good communists. Hence “Dreams From My Father.”

      6. Thou shalt not murder.

      — Taxpayer-funded abortion on demand, including partial birth abortion, is a basic tenet of the Democrat Party.

      7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

      — Let’s not be silly. What would the Kennedys have to say about this one? Seriously?

      8. Thou shalt not steal.

      — Heh, heh, ho, ho. Oh my sides! Stealing is the first commandment of the Democrat Party.

      9. Thou shalt not give false testimony against thy neighbor.

      — Hah! Give me a break! Sheesh.

      10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, house, fields, servants, or his ox, donkey or anything that is your neighbor’s.

      — Get real. Coveting is the second commandment of the Democrat Party.

Wow. Such clarity. So telling. Maybe telling isn’t the right word. The sentiment is already obvious this is just more fuel for the bonfire.

Gee! Who woulda thought Christ’s admonishment of “Weeping & Gnashing of Teeth” referred to Godless Democrats. Then again, it is kind of obvious isn’t it?

Will make zero difference on who votes for the Obamanation or not.

  5. The “voice vote” strategy assumed that the delegates were bright enough to understand the difference between the beliefs you profess on camera to get elected, and the beliefs you actually believe. They weren’t. Villaraigosa took the vote 3 times. When it didn’t go as planned the first time, he thought maybe they didn’t hear me. Maybe they’re so accustimed to repeating slogan when cued they were just repeating NO because I said it first. His face told the story. Second vote… Third vote… Screw em, motion passed. Obama’s radical base, unfortunately for them, were the easiest group to quash, so they got ‘God’ crammed down their throats. I hope they choke on it. The campaign certainly did. They put God back in the platform because, just like the decision to take out UBL, if he didn’t he’d have paid a bigger price politically than he could afford. Our glorious leader is afraid.

They continue to overestimate the amount of control they actually have over people, and it continues to come back to haunt them. Their manipulation of the truth isn’t nearly as convincing to those of us with more than 2 brain cells to rub together as it is on the mindless throngs who line up to worship at the alter of Obaaaaaama. If there weren’t so much on the line with this election, it would be hilarious. If I cared about the intellectually bankrupt losers who believe whatever Obama tells them, it would be sad. As it is, Obama’s fear gives me hope for change.

Woman Utah Muslim Delegate Noor Ul-Hasan makes bizarre statements at DNC wanting to feel sweat come on her and being forced to vote Democrat by her Muslim Father

    Noor UL-Hasan:

“My father always told us we were born-Democrats, and that’s what I always say. So, there’s no choice for me.”

“It’s kind of like going to a concert. You know, you’re like so thrilled that you’re so close. I want to be so close that sweat comes on me.”

“I have so much respect for her, because she is able to support President Obama and I like the fact she said, you know, he was a great man before she married him…”

“There was no discussion. We didn’t even see it coming. We were blindsided by it,” said Noor Ul-Hasan, a Muslim delegate from Salt Lake City, who questioned whether the convention had enough of a quorum to even amend the platform.

    By RaeAnn ChristensenSeptember 5th, 2012 @ 10:57pm

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — History is being made at the Democratic National Convention this week as record number of American Muslim delegates are in attendance, representing 20 states.

Noor Ul-Hasan is a Muslim woman who lives in Cottonwood Heights. But this week she is thrilled to be in Charlotte, N.C., participating in the Democratic process.

She wasn’t hoping a rock star’s sweat fell on her, but that of Michelle Obama’s.

According to a national Muslim advocacy group, there are more than 100 Muslim delegates at the Democratic Convention — more than double the number from four years ago, quadruple the number from 2004, and many more than attended the Republican National Convention last week.

She caught the political bug from her father, a blue-collar worker born in India.

Does DNC delegate Nor UL-Hasan understand Republicans fought for the right for minorities to vote. And to think Utah’s history of Mormon men fighting for women to vote.

Explains why her Muslim father forced her to be a Democrat like the Muslim family of Obama

Video of ayes and nays. Note the angry Muslim towards the end. And then the women informing the Chair “you gotta this, you gotta led em” The accent is a little unprofessional. But, I have to go with the ayes instead of the group of Muslims screaming naye loudly.
