Baumol Cost Disease/Healthcare Reform:

What afflicts the American health care system (and those of other industrialized nations) is called Baumol’s cost disease. It is named for William J. Baumol, an economist at New York University, who turns 88 next month. And it explains why health care costs will almost certainly continue to rise faster than general inflation, and why Democrats might not want to set expectations too high when it comes to their health care bill.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's "The One" or a close circle of criminals who are both elected and appointed as well as people who have no business meddling in our government whatsoever, but who provide money.

To me, it becomes increasingly worrisome that policies and "ideas" seem to come a such a rapid-fire pace that not one person is thinking them all up. Perhaps, in teleconferences or private meetings, these things get hashed around and then it's decided who should present the idea, as in Barry, Fwank, Pe-loser, etc.

I am beginning to think that Barry is simply a tool. Yes, in many ways. But it's a consortium of bad people....like there's the godfather and all the capo's. But I daren't give that skinny little bastard as much credit as, say, Joe Bonano.

But, on the other side, this is the way Bo-Bo thinks politics works, I believe. And to really bring some shine to this thought, this is why he acts like a mob boss who is under indictment but still palling around with his crooked friends and riding around in limos and such and putting up a front.

And also because he really doesn't care what other people think. At all.

Interesting considering that last time the Dems used this was for passing Clinton's 1993 budget. They tried it on Ms. Clinton's healthcare plan but it was blocked as this process is supposed to be about budgets only. However, I think they've decided since that anything affecting the budget is okay.

We truly are living in screwed up times, the left is salivating over all this as anything done by the Dems/Obama has got to be good, and if something bad does happen it's the Republican's fault. They're on our side, yah yah yah. Yeah, truly The One can do no wrong, and we should be condemned for the heresy of questioning Him.

I remember it used to be people wanted someone as President who was good at the job, and even if it was YOUR party if they began screwing up you wanted them out. Now it's whatever it takes to keep appearances up, no matter what they do. Clinton and his sexual shenanigans? No, he was the most erudite scholar who ever sat in office, at least until Obama came along. Obama? To give one example, when it came up about "Obama Time" where he's perpetually late for everything, the excuse was he was taking the time to personally help the people and the government would just have to wait. Yeah, sure, every time he's late.

So what else will now be rammed through by "Reconciliation?" There's no time to waste! The Chosen One's plan must be enacted!

That would work, Pro. But it would take determination and force of will, coupled with a sincere committment to fiscal and moral responsibility. Where do we find such people in the dwindling months before the elections in '10? It would also take the type of person willing to settle for one term rather than cave in to the pressure to 'go along with the crowd' in order to get re-elected. It will take a whole bunch of those types elected all at one time.

I like the idea, but I think I'll go buy a lottery ticket, too. The lottery odds are better.

It would behoove every Republican lawmaker to say one thing immediately.

Make this absolutely clear, and make it as much of a promise as any reprobate deceiptfull-by-nature politician is able.

"We will revoke every single law passed by this congress when you elect us to the majority position in 2010. From bridge names to multi-trillion generation-crushing debt burdens....we will overturn them all....as fast as the vote counter in Congress can tally the votes."

narcissisitic, meglomania, and now bi-polar/manic episode:

But while mania feels good at first, it has a tendency to spiral out of control.
People often behave recklessly during a manic episode: gambling away savings,
(and futures)

engaging in inappropriate sexual activity, (or hugging and groping communists)

or making foolish business investments, for example. They may also become angry, irritable, and aggressive – picking fights, lashing out when others don’t go along with their plans, and blaming anyone who criticizes their behavior. Some people even become delusional or start hearing voices.

Hypomania symptoms
Hypomania is a less severe form of mania. People in a hypomanic state feel euphoric, energetic, and productive, but they are able to carry on with their day-to-day lives.... However, hypomania can result in bad decisions that harm relationships, careers, and reputations.

Common signs and symptoms of mania include:

Feeling unusually “high” and optimistic OR extremely irritable
Unrealistic, grandiose beliefs about one’s abilities or powers
Sleeping very little, but feeling extremely energetic
Talking so rapidly that others can’t keep up
Racing thoughts; jumping quickly from one idea to the next
Highly distractible, unable to concentrate
(uh..buh..duh..de..."Oh..Ahh a...Baa aw...Ma..aw.."..ha..duh..be..de..de..bu..)

Impaired judgment and impulsiveness
Acting recklessly without thinking about the consequences
Shopping sprees. (bullseye)

When we could have won some of these battles, McCain and his "gang of 14" saw to it that there was defeat through bi-partisanship. Now, Obama and crew have seen to it that there will be no battles. Heads, they win-- tails we lose.
