DHS ‘Cautions’ Parent About Sending Kids To US Border

From Reuters:

U.S. cautions Central American parents against sending children alone to border

By Alex Dobuzinskis | June 12, 2014

(Reuters) – The U.S. Homeland Security secretary sought to discourage Central American parents on Thursday from sending their children to join a wave of unaccompanied migrants from the region flooding across the U.S. border.

"Sought to discourage"? Wow, that is really clamping down. — But why is any of this even needed. Even Janet Napolitano said the border is more secure than at any time in our nation’s history. Surely they can stop a few thousand ‘kids.’

But officials also said they are deploying the full resources of the U.S. government, including three military bases, to humanely house the young migrants in a response similar to how federal agencies handle natural disasters.

But this is an unnatural disaster. Still, why don’t we just send them all back home? Lest we forget, in the past the argument against massive deportation has been that we could never round everyone up. Well, these ‘kids’ are already rounded up. Why aren’t they being sent home?

And sending them home would be a lot cheaper than sending them to Boston and Baltimore. Plus it would reunite them with their precious families.

Between October and May, more than 47,000 unaccompanied minors, mostly from Central America, have crossed into the United States, nearly double the number in the previous 12 months, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson told a news conference in Washington.

Why not go back to the time before Obama’s illegal executive order Dream Act? Back in 2011 there were only 6,560 unaccompanied young illegal aliens apprehended by ICE. There will be a least ten times that many apprehended this year, thanks to Obama’s dog whistle.

While U.S. officials attributed the spike to poverty and rising gang violence in Central America —

Because way back in 2011 there wasn’t any poverty or gang violence in Central America.

Johnson sought to dispel any notion by parents that their children might qualify to stay in the United States as part of immigration reform efforts before the U.S. Congress.

"Those who cross our borders today, including children, are not eligible for an earned path to citizenship pursuant to that legislation," he said. "I also wish to make clear that those apprehended at our border are priorities for removal. They are priorities for enforcement of our immigration laws regardless of age."

Oh, our sides. That’s why the Obama administration is giving them English lessons in all the shelters. And that’s why Holder is spending untold millions getting them lawyers. And that’s why they are so busy arranging to have them sent to whatever family they have in the US.

It all in preparation for their imminent deportation.

Federal officials under President Barack Obama have focused on turning back unauthorized immigrants stopped in border regions and deporting others elsewhere who are convicted of serious crimes…

That’s another belly laugh. Reuters is on a roll. Obama is not turning away anyone. And he is releasing everyone who has been caught. Even if they have a record of serious crimes.
