DHS Training Video Features ‘Militia’ Terrorists

From the Examiner.com:

DHS training video depicts gun owners as ‘militia members’ planning terrorism

By Ryan Keller | April 26, 2013

The YouTube channel Patriot News Organization on Thursday uploaded a training video from the Department of Homeland Security that depicts a fake news broadcast about a police SWAT team raiding an American house and arresting "extremist" members of a “local militia group” for possession of illegal firearms and planning to commit terrorist attacks.

“Very disturbing video straight from DHS website – they use it to help train all of the deputized agencies during a crisis, even hospital administrators, media faces, everything and everyone that would be involved in such an event,” reads the Patriot News Organization’s description of the video.

Exactly when the video was made is unclear, but the video description links to a DHS website featuring documents that were uploaded in 2009 and 2012.

In the video, a fake local news anchor comes on the screen with breaking news.

“Reports of possible illegal activity by a local militia group appears to have spurred law enforcement into action,” the anchor says.

The video then cuts to “John Gleason” at the site in front of a house with fake fire fighters and SWAT officers swarming the area.

“This is the scene of an intensive investigation into the operations of an extremist group reportedly planning a series of terrorist attacks on U.S. cities,” Gleason says. “Details are sketchy, but allegedly the militia was using this house to store a cache of military weapons.”

While he says this, an image of an officer dressed in explosive-proof gear is shown heading into the house.

Gleason then says that the FBI and “other agencies” are on the scene, and that police raided the house of two men for “illegal possession of firearms, but they apparently found more than they were bargaining for.” As Gleason says this, SWAT officers are shown hauling two typical looking men from the house.

“Get him out of here!” an officer is heard shouting, and another one runs toward the cameraman waving his hand and shouting, “backup, backup, backup!” and the video ends.

The DHS has long been suspected of gearing up to fight Americans. The agency has released documents describing conservatives, libertarians, people who distrust the federal government, people who oppose illegal immigration, who oppose the Federal Reserve and who support gun rights, among other things, as potential terrorists and “domestic extremists.”

The agency has further stoked fears by purchasing nearly 2 billion rounds of mostly hollow point ammunition, 7,000 fully automatic assault rifles, nearly 3,000 mine-resistant MRAP vehicles and $2 million worth of paper targets depicting Americans, including women and children.

Last month, Arkansas State Fusion Center Director Richard Davis admitted that the DHS spies on "anti-government" Americans…

But, as we have noted numerous times over this years, portraying the terrorists in such drills as right-wingers is nothing new.

In fact, here is just one example from back in 2006, via the local New Jersey newspaper, the Burlington County Times:

Jersey City Emergency Service Unit police officers participate in a hostage drill at a Jersey City school on Friday, November 3, 2006.

Hostage drill prepares school for crisis

By DAVID LEVINSKY | November 3, 2006

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP — The scenario has played out in real life across America: Gunfire echoes through a school and students are held hostage.

But police, faculty and staff lived out their own make-believe version yesterday of just such a tragedy at Burlington Township High School, complete with Kevlar-clad officers, armed suspects and students portraying the wounded and dead.

The purpose of the drill was to test the reactions of police, faculty and administration…

The mock terror attack involved two irate men armed with handguns who invaded the high school through the front door. They pretended to shoot several students in the hallway and then barricaded themselves in the media center with 10 student hostages.

Two Burlington Township police detectives portrayed the gunmen. Investigators described them as members of a right-wing fundamentalist group called the “New Crusaders” who don’t believe in separation of church and state. The mock gunmen went to the school seeking justice because the daughter of one had been expelled for praying before class.

To make the drill more realistic, about 10 students volunteered to act as hostages or wounded victims. Several faculty members helped simulate a complete school lockdown, followed by an evacuation…

Because those right-wing fundamentalists just never stop blowing people up.

Two things about the Boston response really got my motor running….

    1. Every cop in the world was there, armored up like they were going on a science fiction shootout … for one boy. One Boy.

    2. The ‘authorities’ cried SHELTER IN PLACE!! and the entire Boston megaplex obeyed, like sheep. The entire city went into a standstill while these armored mulit-police hunted one teenager.

    Shameful. Utterly shameful.

Whatever happened to One Riot One Ranger?

All because the Boston police ran out of ammunition when first confronting him.

      Department Issued 9mms

      Those make neat little holes

Which is why you never go into a gunfight with anything that doesn’t at least start with .4

.45 – when you absolutely must put it down

NOT ONLY BOSTON! In the hunt and zeal to find Christopher dorner, the police “accidentally” shot a similar blue pick up truck, oh, about 37 times by my count. 2 women were injured, one shot in the back, and another in the wrist.
But when you are UNION and DEMOCRAT, and can INVESTIGATE YOURSELVES, ain’t no one in the world going to challenge you.

I’m just surprise all this GUN CONTROL insanity going around, why were the trigger-happy police swarming around with GUNS? Why all the protection? The public has even more right to arm and defend themselves than the government does. It’s FOR AND BY THE PEOPLE.

The perps in that video don’t look “ethnically diverse” enough. When are LULAC, CAIR, NAACP, La Raza, et al going to protest that “their people” are under-represented as terrorists in the eyes of the DHS? When are the diversity-loving liberals going to make some “terrorist raid” videos that show the perps as something other than average looking middle-class white guys? Isn’t NOW offended that they don’t show women doing what “men can do?”

We constantly hear the left and the MSM (redundant, I know) rationalize and justify terrorists’ attacks against innocent people: the Boston bombers were “fighting for Chechnya” middle-eastern islamic terrorists are upset about the US presence in that part of the world, etc. After all the underhanded cheap shots and political maneuvers taken against white males in this country, you’d expect that they would have earned “victim” status by the same standard that the left uses to confer “victimhood” upon its favored constituents. Alas, some animals are more equal than others. Despite this, the white male still doesn’t riot, use bombing attacks, etc. as do the liberals’ favorite “victim” classes.

If Thomas Jefferson were alive today he’d tell DHS what I’d tell them,
“Bring it on and plenty of body bags.”
    “Let’s dance!”

And to think such a drill after CAIR’s Communication Director before Hooper did all this.
Just a small part of how dangerous CAIR is.

    CAIR: Islamists Fooling the Establishment

by Daniel Pipes and Sharon Chadha
    Middle East Quarterly – Spring 2006 Vol.XXIII: Number 2

Randall (“Ismail”) Royer, an American convert to Islam, served as CAIR’s communications specialist and civil rights coordinator; today he sits in jail on terrorism-related charges. In June 2003, Royer and ten other young men, ages 23 to 35, known as the “Virginia jihad group,” were indicted on forty-one counts of “conspiracy to train for and participate in a violent jihad overseas.” The defendants, nine of them U.S. citizens, were accused of association with Lashkar-e-Taiba, a radical Islamic group designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S. Department of State in 2001. They were also accused of meeting covertly in private homes and at the Islamic Center in Falls Church to prepare themselves for battle by listening to lectures and watching videotapes.[21] As the prosecutor noted, “Ten miles from Capitol Hill in the streets of northern Virginia, American citizens allegedly met, plotted, and recruited for violent jihad.”[22] According to Matthew Epstein of the Investigative Project, Royer helped recruit the others to the jihad effort while he was working for CAIR. The group trained at firing ranges in Virginia and Pennsylvania; in addition, it practiced “small-unit military tactics” at a paintball war-games facility in Virginia, earning it the moniker, the “paintball jihadis.”[23] Eventually members of the group traveled to Pakistan.

Five of the men indicted, including CAIR’s Royer, were found to have had in their possession, according to the indictment, “AK-47-style rifles, telescopic lenses, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and tracer rounds, documents on undertaking jihad and martyrdom, [and] a copy of the terrorist handbook containing instructions on how to manufacture and use explosives and chemicals as weapons.”[24]

After four of the eleven defendants pleaded guilty, the remaining seven, including Royer, were accused in a new, 32-count indictment of yet more serious charges: conspiring to help Al-Qaeda and the Taliban battle American troops in Afghanistan.[25] Royer admitted in his grand jury testimony that he had already waged jihad in Bosnia under a commander acting on orders from Osama bin Laden. Prosecutors also presented evidence that his father, Ramon Royer, had rented a room in his St. Louis-area home in 2000 to Ziyad Khaleel, the student who purchased the satellite phone used by Al-Qaeda in planning the two U.S. embassy bombings in East Africa in August 1998.[26] Royer eventually pleaded guilty to lesser firearms-related charges, and the former CAIR staffer was sentenced to twenty years in prison.[27]

A coda to the “Virginia jihad network” came in 2005 when a Federal court convicted another Virginia man, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, of plotting to kill President Bush. Prosecutors alleged that Abu Ali participated in the Virginia jihad network’s paintball games and perhaps supplied one of his fellow jihadists with an assault rifle.[28] Royer’s possible role in Abu Ali’s plans are unclear.

    He only got 20 years.
