Disfigured Afghan Girl To Get Surgery In CA

From a context-free Associated Press:

Disfigured Afghan teen to have surgery in Calif.

Fri Aug 6, 2010

LOS ANGELES – The disfigured Afghan teenager whose photo was recently featured on a Time magazine cover has arrived in Southern California where a foundation has arranged for reconstructive surgery.

The Grossman Burn Foundation in Los Angeles said Friday that 18-year-old Bibi Aisha arrived Thursday and is staying with a host family.

Aisha says her nose was cut off as punishment for running away from her violent husband.

Dr. Peter Grossman, a plastic surgeon and co-director of the Grossman Burn Centers, says he will meet with Aisha to discuss her treatment, likely a prosthetic nose or a reconstruction of her nose with tissue from the rest of her body.

Activists and human rights workers say they are glad that Aisha is getting treatment but thousands of other women are victims of domestic violence in Afghanistan.

Perhaps these activists and human rights workers should stop complaining and join the US military and volunteer for combat in Afghanistan.

After all, what other meaningful force in the world stands opposed to these miscreants?

    I dunno about this.

What is her position on gay marriage?

That’s an awfully “low-cut head covering”. Might as well not even wear one.
Smart photo move, she can never go back to Afghan now.

My thoughts exactly. The fact remains that the savages will hate her for the simple fact that she is a woman and not hiding it.

The Afghanistan version of “American Idol” once featured a young girl who had the audacity to sway to her song and let a head scarf slip from her bangs. Men in the streets called for her execution. Savages.

Anyway, I hope that this girl can be helped but the fact remains that the Taliban and their enablers are opposed to human rights and no single effort of good will can change radical Islam. The poison must be confronted at its source. Many of the liberals that celebrate this woman’s reconstructive surgery lack the gonads to confront the poisonous ideologies that allow such things to occur. ex. see Biden’s “moderate Taliban” comment.

Well, we probably won’t be leaving Afghanistan any time soon, so the writers might have saved a lot of ink!

      Hi bronzeprofessor,

How are you doing, it’s been a while. Glad to see you here again and hope all is well with you and the family. I finally got to see a picture of you while in AL. last week. J & K send their best.

Hi LGMSP! Yes, I am proud to say I call your daughter and her hubby my friends now. I am off active duty now and busy with my civilian job for at least a year. I’m staying in touch with J & K though. I love their place in AL.

-‘Activists and human rights workers say they are glad that Aisha is getting treatment but thousands of other women are victims of domestic violence in Afghanistan.’- Perhaps if these hypocrites had bothered decades ago to expose the crap that happens to women under the guise of ‘religion’ in the world (and you all know what 3rd century ‘religion’ I’m talking about) – this wouldn’t be such a problem now.

Liberal asses – if you can’t fix ’em all, it ain’t worth it?!? The starfish story – put life into prospective – No I am not saving them all, but I am saving this one.

God hear my prayer – remove these godless, soulless, hypocritical and faithless people from positions of power and Restore America’s greatness and Ideals so that once again, America can be the beacon of Freedom, Individual Rights and Liberty for all the World.

Lets be honest, this stuff is happening in a lot more places than jsut afghanistan. Funny, if we were following through on the promise to pound those who would harm America into the stone age wherever we may find them (paraphrased) we would coincidentally be helping out a lot more of these people. But that would require admitting what we have always known in our heart of hearts. This is a religious war, this is the modern day crusade (the real crusades, not the ones represented by modern history teachers and Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood) and like the original, the redux is a defensive response by the west, and will not succeed to any greater degree if we resolve ourselves to trying to contain the enemy along geographic lines.

From personal experience I can assure you of two things

    1. Every average joe citizen in a muslim country (sharia or similar types of law) is oppressed by islam. They just often don’t know it and are encouraged by the teachings of the religion and by brute force to stay ignorant.

    2. The muslims we are fighting give a rats ass about which country they are in when they do it. A friend of mine from S. Africa indicated muslim africans were flooding out of the country at enormous rates when we invaded afghanistan. Further, in Iraq, we fought Afghans, Saudis, Jordanians, Syrians, and God only knows who else. The common thread wasn’t socio-economics, skin color, or national origin. The common thread was they were ALL muslims.
