Egyptian Kills Wife For Not Voting For Morsi

From Al Arabiya:

Egyptian beats pregnant wife to death for not voting for Mursi

An Egyptian plumber in Alexandria beat his pregnant wife to death upon learning that she had not voted for Muslim Brotherhood presidential candidate Mohammed Mursi, reported the Egyptian daily al-Wafd on Sunday.

According to police reports, the initial argument between the couple who was not named escalated into violence, despite her pleas. Battered and bruised, she was reported to have died at the hospital from injuries sustained.

Domestic fights have dominated Egyptian news headlines when the bid fell on the two most feared and most controversial candidates, Mursi and former prime minister Ahmed Shafiq.

So this was not a unique situation? Apparently not. But this is what ‘democracy looks like.’

Voters, along with Egyptian media personalities, heatedly defended their chosen candidates and eagerly await the result which will be announced Sunday.

They weren’t the only people who were eagerly awaiting the outcome. The Obama administration couldn’t wait to send their congratulations.

The White House spokesman, Jay Carney, issued the following official statement within hours of the announcement of the Egyptian election results:

White House Congratulates Egypt

June 24, 2012

"The United States congratulates Dr. Mohamed Morsi on his victory in Egypt’s Presidential election, and we congratulate the Egyptian people for this milestone in their transition to democracy.

"We look forward to working together with President-elect Morsi and the government he forms, on the basis of mutual respect, to advance the many shared interests between Egypt and the United States. We believe that it is important for President-elect Morsi to take steps at this historic time to advance national unity by reaching out to all parties and constituencies in consultations about the formation of a new government.

"We believe in the importance of the new Egyptian government upholding universal values, and respecting the rights of all Egyptian citizens – including women and religious minorities such as Coptic Christians. Millions of Egyptians voted in the election, and President-elect Morsi and the new Egyptian government have both the legitimacy and responsibility of representing a diverse and courageous citizenry.

"The United States intends to work with all parties within Egypt to sustain our long-standing partnership as it consolidates its democracy. We commend the Presidential Election Commission and the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) for their role in supporting a free and fair election, and look forward to the completion of a transition to a democratically-elected government. We believe it is essential for the Egyptian government to continue to fulfill Egypt’s role as a pillar of regional peace, security and stability. And we will stand with the Egyptian people as they pursue their aspirations for democracy, dignity, and opportunity, and fulfill the promise of their revolution."

Translation: Yippee! And hurry up with that Sharia!

Here’s your linky goodness for today’s truthiness about Israel’s response to Egypt’s soon to be announced incursion into the Promised Land … We Told You

    Too many questions…
Did he kill her for not voting for Morsi, or for not voting at all? She might have just forgotten that she could vote.
Maybe she couldn’t find a male relative to drive her to the voting booth. Maybe she thought she was supposed to vote for Obama, but couldn’t find him on the ballot. Will this man face prison, stoning, caning, a slap on the wrist, or does his religion and the new enlightenment of the Egyptian government give him the right to kill his wife for any reason or no reason at all?

Where are the pinko women’s rights whiners? Where is NOW? Where is Obama? Where is Hillary?
Is this truly what democracy looks like?

Apparently participating in “slut walks” (not my term) and performing a rendition of the Vagina Monologues at the Michigan Capital building. I sure lost the plot with liberal feminism – where would be we without these noble visionaries to obsess about their genitalia ? Meanwhile Egyptian women are mutilated at puberty. Hey pinkos! There’s some real oppression, find a few spare seconds to mention it someday!

Last time women will probably vote. Cairo getting Muslim Brotherhood in charge, is similar to America getting an Obama in charge.

All these countries, to include now Syria will continue to be run by more evil than the ones Obama, Democrats and Republicans supported and will never admit they were wrong. We just paid Egypt a fortune to let the son of the Dept of Transportation free to leave Egypt. McCain that supported the coup then complaining how treacherous Egypt was.

All predicted before A.D. A little name changing of lands and waters, and it’s becoming to real.

And this we can blame Obama, democrats and republicans.
