Egyptians Wed To Jews Lose Citizenship

From an approving Associated Press:

Egyptians married to Israelis to lose citizenship

By Maamoun Youssef, Associated Press Writer Sat Jun 5, 2010

CAIRO – An Egyptian appeals court on Saturday upheld a ruling that orders the country’s Interior Ministry to strip the citizenship from Egyptians married to Israeli women.

The case underlines the deep animosity many Egyptians still hold toward Israelis, despite a peace treaty signed between the two countries 31 years ago

That should read “despite the billions of dollars the US has showered upon Egypt for the last 31 years.” Which Mr. Carter thought would buy peace.

The court also said officials should take into consideration whether a man married an Israeli Arab or a Jew when making its decision to revoke citizenship.

Huh. So it is really only Jewish women they are talking about. Imagine that.

Saturday’s decision, which cannot be appealed, comes more than year after a lower court ruled that the Interior Ministry, which deals with citizenship documents, must implement the 1976 article of the citizenship law. That bill revokes citizenship of Egyptians who married Israelis who have served in the army or embrace Zionism as an ideology. The Interior Ministry appealed that ruling.

The lawyer who brought the original suit to court, Nabih el-Wahsh, celebrated Saturday’s ruling, saying it "is aimed at protecting Egyptian youth and Egypt’s national security."

The government has not released figures of Egyptians married to Israeli women, but some estimates put the number around 30,000…

In 2005, former Grand Mufti Nasr Farid Wasel issued a religious edict, or fatwa, saying Muslim Egyptians may not marry Israeli nationals, "whether Arab, Muslim, or Christian." The possibility of a Jewish spouse was not mentioned.

Mohammed Sayyed Tantawi, the late Grand Sheik of Cairo’s Al-Azhar, Sunni Islam’s premier institution and oldest university, has said that while marriage between an Egyptian man and an Israeli woman is not religiously forbidden, the government has the right to strip the man of his citizenship for marrying a woman from "an enemy state."

Man, once the ‘human rights’ crowd gets a hold of this news they will forget all about Arizona and turn their guns on Egypt for sure.

Perhaps the global citizenship experts, Obama and Holder, can comment.

I don’t expect Obama to comment on the human rights situation of Muslim countries.

During his Egypt speech he ignored the discrimination against Coptic Christians and the practice of female genital mutilation – but don’t worry, he spoke at length against people in the United States who may or may not disapprove of Muslim women wearing headscarves in the U.S. Oh boy, now THAT’s a tragedy worth mentioning!

The left wouldn’t know human rights if it stared them in the face. I wonder if the leftists shouting “free Palestine” right along with radical Islamic protesters in L.A. know that they are enabling groups that wish to commit Holocaust 2.0.

One NYC counter protester who came in support of Israel had this sign that read, ‘I’d rather have a Jewish state that the world hates than an Auschwitz that the world loves.’

“is aimed at protecting Egyptian youth and Egypt’s national security.”

Please explain how this works. Please.

    Let’s change the phrasing.

….is aimed at protecting American youth and the United States’ national security

And the subject under scrutiny is…oh….American men marrying women from…..Mexico, Morocco, Kenya, Italy, Japan….etc.

You see how the logic fails?

It is bigotry put in a nice wrapper. Like when a liberal says, “Hey..I’m not a racist, I have lots of black friends” which…is a completely biased statement used to defend their bigotry.

So often in these things, it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it that tells the real story.

you read my mind. My I add not electing presidents that hate America.

I’ve never heard of any church in the U.S. that yelled out the blank-dam the U.S. over and over. And blank-dam the Jews.

You would never hear a preacher or minister say blank-dam anything or anyone. But, if a preacher in America did blank-dam or dam something or someone, the minister would be more specific. Like -dam the corrupt politicians in America, or -dam the sinful people in America, or -dam the illegal immigrants in America.

The way rev Wright & his followers like Obama blank-dam America, sounds like they consider all America to be their enemy & that by America being dammed, they want to destroy America. Wright ordered the destroying of America, and Obama is doing a good job of destroying it, as his mentor taught him.
