Emanuel Out, Rouse In As Chief Of Staff

From a wistful Associated Press:

White House chief of staff: Emanuel out, Rouse in

By Ben Feller, AP White House Correspondent
September 30, 2010

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is making official what has been clear for days: Rahm Emanuel, the relentless enforcer of his agenda as White House chief of staff, is resigning…

Stepping into that role will be Pete Rouse, a deeply trusted senior adviser to Obama who has made much of his living as a chief of staff. Obama on Friday is expected to herald Emanuel’s service, talk of unfinished business and introduce Rouse as interim White House chief of staff, likely for the rest of the year.

Rouse is considered a leading choice to become the permanent chief of staff…

That this is a temporary appointment probably indicates that Mr. Obama doesn’t think Mr. Emanuel can get elected. Even so, let’s hope Mr. Rouse will do for Obama what he did for Tom Daschle.

Amid news reports that Rahm was definitely leaving and Rouse was to replace him, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs would not confirm that, working to avoid getting ahead of the president. But Gibbs said Obama would be making twin personnel announcements on Friday. And in a bizarre exchange with reporters, he described Emanuel’s legacy, Rouse’s skills and the choice of the grand East Room for the event. He even winked in giving one of his answers

It seems to us that most exchanges with Robert Gibbs could be described as "bizarre."

In describing his departure on Friday, Emanuel is expected to offer a glancing reference at most to his run for mayor, not wanting to announce from Washington.

It has been reported that Mr. Obama intends to give Mr. Emanuel a glowing endorsement. Given the disastrous track record of Obama endorsements, maybe that’s a sign that he really wants Rahm back at the White House.

The move pits Emanuel against a growing field of local politicians vying for the job that will be vacated next spring by Mayor Richard M. Daley, who announced in early September that he will not seek a seventh term…

Word is that even the honorable colorful Roland Burris is considering a run for the job. If so, what a wonderful set of choices Chicago voters will have.

By the way, lest we forget, appointing Rahm Emanuel his chief of staff was one of the very earliest signs that Mr. Obama had blatantly lied about wanting to be a post-partisan President.

Rahm the Impaler is generally considered to be the voice of reason in Obamy’s White House staff.

The kiss of death. The only thing that would have been better would have been if “Baghdad Bob” left to become his campaign manager.

Anyone here a John Sandford fan?

His latest novel, BAD BLOOD (a Virgil Flowers novel) concerns a very very evil group of religionists with a very private ‘church’ practicing spectacularly vile pedophelia … and the guy who has all the photographic evidence of the depths of these crimes is a man with the last name of ….

I doubt the Hemorrhoid would be running for anything that he hadn’t already gotten the votes for. I’m sure there are many Chicagoans who are dieing (or already died) to vote for him. Let’s not even pretend it’s going to be an election on the up and up.

It seems to me, Pete Rouse is keeping it in the Obama personal family & career business. My opinion is Obama is looking into the near future of the career path he will take, as he has spent the last two years doing; It’s my opinion with Obama’s book activities, interviews (the most recent making the cover of the Rolling Stone), putting his voice to audio for his books, etc., the wealthy friends and celebrity friends, and bowing to countries leaders. etc. While people speculate on who wrote his first book while Obama suffered writers block.
No doubt Obama’s 2nd book was written by a large group of people, though he penned it first-hand too.
And I’d guess credit to Joshua Deboise whose on the payrole as religious mentor, was for writing the chapter on faith, and prepared him for the religious debate.

Why didn’t Oprah Winfrey invite the whole gang on her show when she endorsed this Obama book?

The cover of Obama’s new children’s book, was obviously illustrated and chose after the new White House water dog joined the family.
Can’t imagine the decision making and number of artists that graveled for that cover.

So Nerobama’s chief of staff is gone.

Nerobama’s economic advisors have already bailed out.

    Nerobama’s green czar ditto.

    Nerobama’s budget director ditto.

Nerobama’s political advisors are checking out.

    Nerobama’s national security advisor ditto.

    Nerobama’s SecDef ditto.

    Nerobama sacked Gen McChrystal.

Hillary is doing her own thing.

Tigellinus-Holder is mired down in his anti-Arizona lawsuits and his defense of the Black Panthers.

Kathleen Sebelius is busy putting the squeeze on health insurance companies, physicians, hospitals, and senior citizens.

Janet Incompetano is busy opening up the borders and releasing illegal aliens.

Tax-cheat Tim Geithner … well, the nicest thing I could say about Tiny Tim would sound cruel, so better I say nothing at all.

It now appears that the only people left to run the regime are Nerobama himself, Biden, the Empress Armtonia, a bunch of czars, community organizers, and other assorted crooks, and Mrs Robinson, none of whom have ever managed anything in their lives, never met a payroll, never made a sales call, never even held a proper job.

Oh yeah, and Gen. David Petraeus.

    Hmmm.

He’ll have a whole new team of dangerous dunces there to take the fall for him again in a few months.

This has to and will stick to him from here ’till we’re able to shove this disaster and all of them off as a fading nightmare.

    • proreason says:

Doesn’t matter who the flunkies are.

A man of his stature only needs order takers, not advisors.

Of course, the mystery remains from whom the orders really flow.

To repeat my thought on the matter…..he has usurped the puppet masters who made him what he is. Now his scrubbed brain is on auto-pilot.

      Thank goodness.

    • wardmama4 says:

he has usurped the puppet masters who made him what he is

Well now, while I do indeed agree with you about Obama only surrounding himself with order takers – your quote above makes me want to ask a question:

Is Obama putting himself into jeopardy by usurping the puppet masters – or are they his next target?

    • proreason says:

“Is Obama putting himself into jeopardy by usurping the puppet masters – or are they his next target?”

History has the answer, and it ain’t pretty.

Reference, for example, fellow authoritarian Josef Stalin.

There are some counter examples, but the dominant theme is that the absolute ruler quickly acts to insure his complete authority, with little regard to the niceities of polite society.

It’s only speculation, but I think Rahm, Christine, Larry and the many others who are running screaming to other lives should be very happy that the Tea Parties have become such a force in this country. You may disagree, of course, but if so, I would be curious to learn of examples of Obamy’s kind and generous side. To the contrary, It seems to me that the boy king has a bit of a thing about blaming others for his problems.

    • Liberals Demise says:

      Obamas kind and generous side?

      1) None of his close friends and associates have assumed room temperature (mysteriously) while the deconstruction of America has been underway. (as opposed to the Clintonistas friends and associates)
      2) As for generous…….he didn’t demand that Rahm surrender half of the dead fish for his dinner table.

    • proreason says:

Actually LD, two of Obamy’s young gay male “acquaintances” checked out of earth under mysterious circumstances. The odds against that are long, to say the least.

And also, unlike Bubba, who clawed his way pretty much on his own, to political power, Obamy was annointed with every achievement in his life. When measuring the cold political bodies surrounding the two, their pathways to power is something to consider.

    • tranquil.night says:

“Is Obama putting himself into jeopardy by usurping the puppet masters – or are they his next target?”

“History has the answer, and it ain’t pretty.”

Ask John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan what happens when they truly are a threat to the Ruling Class kingpins.

As for Obama, you can’t discount the poetry of the puppet-masters setting up their messiah for Marxist martyrdom.

  7. canary says:

teary eyed Rahm Emanuel said Obama had the most difficult presidency than any other President of the U.S. and serving in the worst time in U.S. history.
Obama is stood behind Emanuel as he said it, as if reading along with what Emanuel
was reading. Obama then pats him on the back.
ahh. Give me a break. Obama has had the easiest Presidency of any U.S. President. He’s living the life of a movie star, photo shoots, traveling the world twice, and the country over & over. He practically lives on AF1 when he’s not playing golf.

Emanuel had to go because of the go between part he played for Blago & Obama. The timing of Daley leaving, and Emanuel hoping to take his place is too timely.

  8. Liberals Demise says:
