Experts Dispute The CBO’s Amnesty Projections

From the Washington Free Beacon:

Experts Dispute CBO Report on Immigration Reform

Say amnesty for illegal immigrants will increase deficit

By Noëlle Bernard | June 19, 2013

Immigration experts at the Heritage Foundation disputed claims by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) that the Gang of Eight’s immigration bill would benefit the nation Wednesday.

Giving the current 11 million illegal immigrants’ amnesty would increase the national deficit, said Robert Rector, senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation.

“If you take a body of 11 million immigrants who have an average education of 10th grade and give them access to 80 different means-tested welfare programs, Obamacare, Social Security, and Medicare, there’s a huge net cost to that overtime,” Rector said.

For instance, according to UNESCO, Mexico ranks second to last in reading among the 108 countries they studied.

Besides, what is our real life unemployment rate? Over 11%. And that doesn’t even count the people who have decided to go on disability or some other government program. And it is even worse for unskilled and low-skilled workers.

And yet Democrats want to bring in another 11 million (or probably 46 million) unskilled workers? That’s insanity. At the very least they will push more people onto unemployment and welfare and disability. Which we will have to pay for.

The CBO concluded that the Gang of Eight’s immigration reform bill would cut the national deficit, boost the economy, and reduce the number of unauthorized residents by 25 percent…

Actually, the CBO was talking about overstayed visas only being reduced by 25%. But they make up 40 to 50% of our illegal alien population. Which is still bad.

Besides, the numbers could be the same or even worse for those who came across the border on foot. The CBO just did not address them.

Rector researched the cost of the amnesty portion of the bill and concluded that legalized immigrants would receive $9.4 trillion in government benefits and pay only $3.1 trillion in taxes over their lifetime. This would generate a deficit of $6.3 trillion, which citizens have to pay

Which is what Rector reported in a Heritage study last month.

By the way, when that Heritage study came out the Democrats all said that the CBO would come out with a report that would show just the opposite. That was more than a month ago. How did they know that?

William Beach, chief economist at the Senate Budget Committee, said in 20 years the population of undocumented individuals would reach seven million. That number translates to 350,000 people without documents each year.

“In other words, CBO is saying that this bill will make no difference whatsoever to the undocumented residencies, the overstays, the cross borders, and so forth,” Beach said. “Despite the fact that this is the number one border security bill out there.” …

In other words, in twenty years (probably much sooner) we will have another seven million people ‘living in the shadows.’ So what is being accomplished here?

By the way, when the Heritage study came out last month, the Democrats all said that the CBO would come out with a report that would show just the opposite. How did they know that?

Easy. The Democrats knew what they were going to tell the CBO what to find.

We already tried this 25 years ago. It didn’t work. If we had secured the border then, we wouldn’t be dealing with this now. If we don’t secure the border and deport the illegals now, we’re going to have a much bigger and more expensive problem in another 25 years. We may as well change the name of the country to meh-hee-co.

Oh No, Mr. Bill … I believe that has been the Plan all along. Implement the North American Union

I don’t think our soft-headed politicians are that bright, nor do I think they plan that far ahead. This is just a scramble for votes, by any means possible. It’s simple pandering in the quest to retain their power in the face of a population that is poised to throw a lot of the bums out on their respective behinds next year. Most of our politicians are incapable of any thought on a timeline that exceeds the next election.

Oh my, do I agree. That’s why they’re hand puppets. But the sinister undead who have their hands up the puppet are that bright and do plan that far ahead.

Let’s face it. The progressives are trying to bring down the country so they can mold it to fit their twisted utopian views. I say let them do it. We have the guns. Then we mold it to what we want.
