pd, my wife hates The Moron with a blind passion, unlike my cool, steely, objective analysis ( :-0 )

But she also listens to NPR a lot when she is driving. Every day or so she calls me with some new nonsense, and I have to say..."look. Everything they say is a lie. It may not be obvious why, but every single thing is a lie." Then I'll discuss what she heard.

I have to say, she is pretty patient about it.....and she's beginning to figure a lot of them out on her own.

Really, once you understand that it's all about power and control, and that socialism is the lollipop for their idiot supporters, and the idiot supporters are strictly about stealing from us, then everything they do makes perfect sense.

My wife won't watch an Obama speech with me anymore, I can't sit and watch without saying, that's not true, because... and go on for 30 seconds or so until I disprove every point that he says. It's just...wow.

I think he brought up that old canard about putting off things until the next time several times during the speech, and I kept thinking, how many times did all of this come up during Bush's presidency? And the debate was there it was just so split that a lot of things didn't happen. How can anyone really say with a straight face that we put anything off during the Bush years?

Agreed, I watched the last debate with real hope that McCain would make a real conservative argument and show Obama for the fool he is, but it just didn't happen, he was so intent on being the nice guy with the honorable campaign, and whatnot. Even a few times he made good arguments, but then Obama always stood up and says, I just want to respond, and of course McCain just let the "response" go without a peep. I kept thinking, this is the only chance, Mr. McCain, from here on out, Obama will not be questioned, he will not be challenged, everything he does will be celebrated, the only chance to turn the thing around is tonight, and you only have to do it by showing liberalism to be the embarassment that it is. But oh, well maybe next time Jindal will actually fight the good fight.

All lies in one form or another.

Oil - Partial lie. We use less on a % basis than ever, but we do import now more than ever

Health Care - A typical Moron rhetorical trick. Health Care costs more because we have MORE LIFE-SAVING TREATMENTS available. The alternative is to die....which is what the commiecrats will enforce for senior citizens.

Schools- yes, they are a mess, and whose fault is that. The Moron himself frittered 50M away.

Transfer wealth to the wealthy - A flagrant lie. Wealth strata's are relatively the same today as ever. When the libwits tell this lie, btw, they don't count any entitlements (welfare, SSN, Medicare, etc, etc, etc) which have soared since the Johnson years. There are many many sub-lies in this one as well

Regulations - A flagrant lie. There are more regulations now than ever. Besides, regulations are the PROBLEM, not the solution.

Lenders pushing bad loans - A laughable lie. Moron liberals forced the banks to make bad loans.

Debate put off for another day - A contemptable lie. Bush opened many debates.

Every word that comes out of The Moron's mouth is a lie of some sort. Telling lies is his career.

Not just a bankruptcy, but specifically a healthcare related bankruptcy every 30 seconds. What with all the other bankruptcies going on, there must be billions of Americans going bankrupt every year.

Then he said these two sentences in the same speech.
"Because of this plan, 95 percent of working households in America will receive a tax cut, a tax cut that you will see in your paychecks beginning on April 1."
"In fact -- in fact, the recovery plan provides a tax cut -- that's right, a tax cut -- for 95 percent of working families. And, by the way, these checks are on the way."

So which is it? Are we getting less withheld from our regular paychecks, or are checks "on the way", implying to me, in the mail?

Then he made the next two statements in the same speech:
"And though all of these challenges went unsolved, we still managed to spend more money and pile up more debt, both as individuals and through our government, than ever before."
"And we will do so in several ways. First, we are creating a new lending fund that represents the largest effort ever to help provide auto loans, college loans, and small-business loans to the consumers and entrepreneurs who keep this economy running"

So which is it, is debt bad, or is debt good?

A brief quote Mr. Obama's comments last night:
"We have known for decades that our survival depends on finding new sources of energy, yet we import more oil today than ever before. The cost of health care eats up more and more of our savings each year, yet we keep delaying reform. Our children will compete for jobs in a global economy that too many of our schools do not prepare them for. And though all of these challenges went unsolved, we still managed to spend more money and pile up more debt, both as individuals and through our government, than ever before. In other words, we have lived through an era where too often short-term gains were prized over long-term prosperity, where we failed to look beyond the next payment, the next quarter, or the next election. A surplus became an excuse to transfer wealth to the wealthy instead of an opportunity to invest in our future. Regulations... Regulations -- regulations were gutted for the sake of a quick profit at the expense of a healthy market. People bought homes they knew they couldn't afford from banks and lenders who pushed those bad loans anyway. And all the while, critical debates and difficult decisions were put off for some other time on some other day."

Factcheck.org should check that little paragraph and determine how much of that is actually true, and out of that, how much is in fact to blame on Democrats, rather than Obama's obvious insinuation that it was Republicans' fault.

I think I could have a full time job if I went around listening to what Obama actually says, and pointing out how much of it is bald faced lies, and how much of it is obfuscation. I seriously think that his grain of truth in a speech is maybe 5%.

Well, they didn't call him on his claim in last night's speech that America invented the automobile. He also said that there was a bankruptcy every thirty seconds. That would be over 63,000,000 per year. Can you imagine if Bush had made these gaffes? Where is our watchdog media?

3 explanations for why somebody doesn't look-up when you explain it that way:

1. they don't believe it (i.e., i don't make a lot of money... Obamy will take care of ME. Or, Obamy didn't tell me, so it can't be true.)
2. they don't understand it (i.e., uuuh, i'm a moron. don't confuse me with stuff like that)
3. they are drunk on Obamy love (i.e., i'm thinking with the banana in my pocket right now)

But you know, U NO (cool), if even ONE person listened, you have made the world a better place.

Congrats for trying.

"The right way to calculate the impact to yourself is to realize that the cost is 3.2 times 1 year’s income tax receipts (since receipts are about 1 trillion per year)."

That is what I have been doing in conversations when someone says, "Well it isn't a lot of money these days especially when there are so many people losing jobs, blah, blah, blah." I just mention income tax is one trillion so if we don't spend a trillion we saved YOUR income tax for a year. Some times it works, some times it doesn't, like, "Well we have to help the poor and the economy. Obama is sooooooo smmaaarrrtttt!"

Fact Check's job is now to debunk emails swirling around against Obama? That doesn't really match up well with their mission statement.

They sound more like defense attorneys than a supposedly neutral organization. But, that's they way things are in our new Orwellian government.

“FACT CHECK: Obama’s words on home aid ring hollow”

McCain is masterful at this political misdirection stuff himself.

But he voluntarilly tied both hands behind his back. He had the ability to counter The Moron and wouldn't do it.

He did an unforgiveable disservice to his country by doing that.

But I also think that after the radicals tanked the economy in September, McCain lost his heart for the fight.
