Exactly. When you consider that family is the bedrock of order in society and that these Arabic societies have been this way for centuries, and that the most influential of western ideas hasn’t made a dent in the treatment of people the picture gets even bleaker.

It’s common in these countries to kill on an accusation, even if no proof. Even in Saudi-Arabia familie’s will kill their own relatives if they’ve been disgraced.
