FBI Tells ‘Mohammed Cartoonist’ To Hide

We almost missed this example of tolerance from the Religion Of Peace, from the Seattle Weekly:

On the Advice of the FBI, Cartoonist Molly Norris Disappears From View

Her work won’t be in Seattle Weekly anymore, or anywhere else.

By Mark D. Fefer
September 15, 2010

You may have noticed that Molly Norris’ comic is not in the paper this week. That’s because there is no more Molly.

The gifted artist is alive and well, thankfully. But on the insistence of top security specialists at the FBI, she is, as they put it, "going ghost": moving, changing her name, and essentially wiping away her identity.

She will no longer be publishing cartoons in our paper or in City Arts magazine, where she has been a regular contributor. She is, in effect, being put into a witness-protection program—except, as she notes, without the government picking up the tab. It’s all because of the appalling fatwa issued against her this summer, following her infamous "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day" cartoon.

So this is the kind of advice that Mr. Obama and Mr. Holder’s FBI is giving people who are threatened by Muslims?

How about instead we go after these terrorists? How about we make them go into hiding?

Norris views the situation with her customary sense of the world’s complexity, and absurdity. When FBI agents, on a recent visit, instructed her to always keep watch for anyone following her, she responded, "Well, at least it’ll keep me from being so self-involved!" It was, she says, the first time the agents managed a smile. She likens the situation to cancer—it might basically be nothing, it might be urgent and serious, it might go away and never return, or it might pop up again when she least expects it.

We’re hoping the religious bigots go into full and immediate remission, and we wish her the best.

Where is the outrage from the moderate Muslim community? Where is Imam Rauf? And for that matter, where is the outrage from our news media – supposedly her colleagues?

And indeed where is the outrage from the rest of America? What are we letting these people do to our country?

Of course that is what they would recommend!
In the old west, the Sheriff would tell you to buy more bullets and maybe another rifle after reminding you of your right to protect yourself.

“Well, at least it’ll keep me from being so self-involved!”

It’s far too unsurprising in the Twilight Zone when people like this are the ones being driven to exile, while the complete opposite side of the coin is ruling the world.

If the Muslims don’t get their way on “anything” they will bring you this. Watch this video (graphic) and then tell us that Islam is the “Religion of Peace”. They are animals and we should ban all immigration into the United States now. This is the true Islam! If a Muslim will not denounce Hamas as a terrorist organization then it is obvious that they support this below:

So they aren’t even footing the bill? I generally would be happy about that, but in this instance, if the woman really is in this much danger and needs to be protected from a foreign entity seeking her destruction, well, thats kind of one of the things the gov’t is SUPPOSED to spend money on.

My advice isn’t hide. It’s breathing control, clear sight picture, clean trigger squeeze, aim center mass. And I would fully support the FBI providing her with one of those purdy SIGs they carry around.

Remember those “Win an art scholarship” ads where you had to draw the pirate?

I’m thinking of taking out ads, nationally, for something where the winner simply gets 50 dollars.

Turn to page 12 for this week’s “Draw Mohammed” contest.

First, it would appear in every newspaper in the country as an act of antagonism, then it would be inflated to epic proportions. Then, I would be investigated and skewered by the press and the “court of public opinion”. There would be the obligatory thought pieces and blog entries and then, of course, a fatwa for my head.

    There is no moderate islam.

    • untrainable says:

We can’t burn the Koran (Qoran… whatever). We can’t draw mohammed. We can’t protest a victory club at ground zero. Islamophobia is bad, so we’re not even allowed to be afraid !!

They can burn our flag, or Bible, our President in effigy. They can legally kill for religious reasons. They can protest our “hate” however they wish. And now they can declare fatwa on an American citizen and SHE has to go into hiding? And our government won’t do anything about it.

The question is… How do we get Obama to draw mohammed?

      Rusty,

You would have absolutely nothing to worry about because there wouldn’t be a snowballs chance in hell of those spineless pr*cks in the media allowing it to run in ANY paper or magazine. Ummm…. well then again they may just “out” you to their muslim allies on principle.

  6. Mithrandir says:

Our government could do two powerful things to protect our citizens:

    1. Declare that ANYONE who issues a fatwa against our citizens is engaging in terrorism, and will be a target MARKED FOR DEATH.

    2. The gov’t can do a sting operation, in which they release the location of this author, boldly say she isn’t intimidated and not going anywhere, then keep track and nab anyone entering the home. Plaster the face of who is caught all over the world, send them to prison.

But no, telling the woman to go into hiding at her own cost, ruining her life, seems like what we are paying our government to do for us…..

Mithrandir – Other than Benjamin Netanyahu, I don’t know of any leader on the face of the earth that has balls of steel. Everyone seems to have been afflicted with the appeasement syndrome. :(

‘A revelatory look at what happens when political Islam collides with the secular West’

Ian Buruma ’s Murder in Amsterdam is a masterpiece of investigative journalism, a book with the intimacy and narrative control of a crime novel and the analytical brilliance for which Buruma is renowned. On a cold November day in Amsterdam in 2004, the celebrated and controversial Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh was shot and killed by an Islamic extremist for making a movie that “insulted the prophet Mohammed.” The murder sent shock waves across Europe and around the world. Shortly thereafter, Ian Buruma returned to his native land to investigate the event and its larger meaning as part of the great dilemma of our time.’
