Barney Frank Lashes Out At Constituent

From a gleeful Associated Press:

Rep. Frank lashes out at protester at Mass. meeting who held poster depicting Obama as Hitler

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Rep. Barney Frank lashed out at protester who held a poster depicting President Barack Obama with a Hitler-style mustache during a heated town hall meeting on federal health care reform.

"On what planet do you spend most of your time?" Frank asked the woman, who had stepped up to the podium at a southeastern Massachusetts senior center to ask why Frank supports what she called a Nazi policy.

"Ma’am, trying to have a conversation with you would be like trying to argue with a dining room table. I have no interest in doing it," Frank replied.

He continued by saying her ability to deface an image of the president and express her views "is a tribute to the First Amendment that this kind of vile, contemptible nonsense is so freely propagated."

Frank, who chairs the House Financial Services Committee, sought to assure more than 500 people attending the rowdy meeting that the average taxpayer wouldn’t be hurt by plans currently under consideration in Congress.

Some of those attending the meeting organized by the Democratic Town Committee of Dartmouth shouted and booed as Frank and others addressed the crowd.

At one point, Frank asked the crowd: "Which one of you wants to yell next?"

Several people wanted to know how the government would pay for the reforms without worsening a growing federal budget deficit.

At least two dozen protesters gathered in small groups outside, handing out pamphlets and holding signs criticizing the overhaul, Obama and Frank. Some of the posters read: "It’s the economy stupid, stop the spending" and "Healthcare reform yes, government takeover, no. Tort Reform Now"

Audrey Steele, 82, from New Bedford, said she does not want the government to get involved with health care because "they just make a mess of everything," referring to the $700 billion bailout of financial institutions that was used to pay for lavish conferences and hefty executive compensation.

Others at Tuesday’s meeting were more supportive of reform.

Mr. Frank does not seem to have read Mr. Washington’s guide to civility that his fellow Democrats have been smugly passing out at townhalls.

Indeed, there seems to be a lot of intentional confusion on the part of Mr. Frank and his acolytes in the media about these “Hitler signs.” (Originally the brainchild of the radical Democrats of Lyndon Larouche.)

This woman is not like the folks of whom Mr. Lennon sang: “If you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, you ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow.”

She and the other protesters are simply against Mr. Obama’s socializing of 1/6th of our economy and taking control over a large portion of our lives, which they (rightly) see as ‘Hitler-like.’

For whatever reason Mr. Frank is unwilling or unable to address their natural concerns with rational arguments. Instead he pounds the table.

This is not what representative government is supposed to be under our system of government. It is not what an elected representative is supposed to do.

Mr. Frank should return his pay to the Massachusetts taxpayers, and go back home to the planet Debbie Washington, DC.

Doesn’t matter to him how he avoids answering a direct question…as long as he can avoid it.

I would have hoped that the woman asking the question was able to explain that national socialism is national socialism and that he is a huge supporter of government control with AIG, GM/Chrysler, etc.

Yet, he didn’t answer the question at all, instead choosing to make fun of the person asking it. No class, none, zip, nada.

It’s no wonder he’s so revered in the world of the liberal.

    Planet Debbie is right.

But to be fair, Hitler’s right hand “man” was Herman Goering, who liked to wear makeup and paint his nails. So…I can understand the connection quite easily.

  2. Liberals Demise says:

Well he’s done it now………..he’s gone and got himself re-elected. He stood up to the un-Americans. The short arm kisser will be able to run gerbil races another term.
    Oh………. for joy!!

The voters of Massachewsits are darn lucky to have this jewel as their mouth piece!!

Has a more contemptable person ever walked the face of the earth? Hitler was a cuddle-bunny compared to this sleazeball. I don’t doubt for a second that the pervert would exceed Hitler’s crimes if he could somehow get the power. Fortunately for us (I guess), Drooling Barney is not as effective at hiding his hatred of mankind as was Adolf.

    • Right of the People says:

But he loves mankind, it’s womankind he hates.

    • electionhangovervictim says:

“Has a more contemptable person ever walked the face of the earth?”
      I’m stumped.
      Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

    • SailorMon says:

He gags me with his sputtering and spittering and acting like he’s such a big shot. It’s a reflection of the entire Democratic Party that he’s held in such high esteem by them….him and Nancy “Plastic Surgery Queen” Pelosi, and Harry “The War Is Lost” Reid. What a triad of buffoons. I thought Congress was supposed to be filled with our best and brightest rather than our societal refuse, virtual dog poop on the shoe of the nation. Oh well……as El Rushbo says, “Elections have consequences”.

    • Colonel1961 says:

‘…virtual dog poop on the shoe of the nation.’ I don’t care who you are, that’s funny!

  4. Helena says:

Barney Frank has represented his district since 1981. He has faced no serious opposition since then. Is there no one better in Massachusetts to run against him? Does he please his constituents so well?

    • catie says:

Evidently not. They deserve what they get having that clown as a Representative for almost 30 years.

    • greasywrench says:

I guess you have to look at the area/district he reperesents. Barry Goldwater (RIP) would have an easier time getting elected in the Castro District of San Francisco than a Conservative in Bawney Fwank’s district. If the term safe district ever applied, it sure as Hell does in this case.

And catie is right. They keep putting this disgrace back in office year after year so they get what they deserve/want. How else can you explain Nazi Pelousy, Jon Murtha, Harry Reid and all the other bad jokes in Congress?

  5. Anonymoose says:

I say let him keep talking; and Barry and Nancy and Harry and the whole lot. They’ve been getting by on being Not Republican and marginalizing everyone who disagrees as racist/hateful/spiteful/whatever. But now they’ve touched a nerve on a universal issue, and all these semi-liberal or “open minded” people who were letting everything the Obama administration did slide are suddenly realizing they’re the ones being called crazy or a paid shill when they stand up against this healthcare disaster.

Part of me is thinking, great nothing will sink Obama and the Dems faster than to keep spewing venom at every opponent not realizing it’s the average citizen now who’s getting hit with it. But another part of me thinks of all these people who voted for Obama and are now having their eyes opened—-what did they expect?

    • Consilience says:

A—the people who voted for the thug president expected hope and change—and Lord knows he’s delivering the latter with none of the former.

  6. Reality Bytes says:

I love it when Bahney Fwank channels Daffy Duck don’t you.

  7. thetimeisright says:

This is the very reason why there has to be term limits on all of congress. An the christian conservative base need to vote an not sit at home. An we need more of the christian/conservatives to run for office.

  8. thetimeisright says:

    oops double post sorry.

  9. pdsand says:

Well, the truly sad thing about all of this is that I’m sure in libworld Frank is being hailed as a hero for “standing up” to the conservative fearmongering.

  10. artboyusa says:

Pershonally, I fink it’sh a dishgrace that thish pershon would show up sheeking to challenge Rep. Frank in shuch a way. He’s BARNEY FRANK, f’chrishakes, show back off and show shome reshpect, you misherable racisht peons you…

  11. Yarddog1 says:

Bawney is certainly a glowing example of an empowered queer. No – I am not a homophobe, just a skilled observer of human nature. He was probably beaten as a child by his peers, scorned at one time in his life for his sexual proclivities and suffers some deep anxieties and conflict over his sexuality. But now he can be as flamboyant as he wants. Obviously he has the blessings of his constituents. As a society we have become much to tolerant of behavior that lacks any semblance of normality. Tolerance is a big factor in where we are today. Go ahead Bawney – have your day. I think you should even add a boa to your wardrobe. If God permits, perhaps we will once again return to higher expectations.

    • proreason says:

How many of the Droolers constituents would leave their children alone in a room with Bwarney?

    • Yarddog1 says:

      Flamboyant = Flaming

      Notice the “boy” in flamboyant.
