I’m afraid I have never read it before, nor did I know who Garet Garrett was. So this alone stands testimony to me as to why I come here and read, read, read.

The Von Mises Institute says it was first published in 1938. Apparently, “The Revolution Was” is dated 1944 in “The People’s Pottage,” but that is probably to indicate it had been updated.

The Hitler and Mussolini references seem quite possible for 1938 to me. Hitler had been in power since 1933 and Mussolini since 1922.

I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart and a liking for the Great State of Texas (even moreso lately ‘cuz of their affirmation of the Constitution and its’ Amendments).

Besides, it’s a helluva lot warmer than this blue state and they’d probably hang Franken.

Absolutely brilliant read! But, I believe it was written with the benefit of a few years hindsight, in 1952. Garrett published this in The People’s Pottage in 1952, according to Wikipedia.

We have, as forewarned, been taken from within.

Absolutely brilliant and horrifying, it reads like a blue-print for Obama’s first 100 days. I think the nail to drive home for all the non-believers out there is:

This is the point I’ve been pounding lately.

Even though we are all upset about what is happening, it is actually much worse than even we imagine.

We are the lobsters and the pot is heating up.

And The Moron is a hundred times more dangerous than FDR. FDR was a misguided patriot. Obama’s aim is to punish and control.
