Gibbs, Other WH Flacks Attack NRA Over Gun Ad

From the Politico:

NRA ad attacked for including President Obama’s daughters

By Katie Glueck | January 16, 2013

The National Rifle Association on Tuesday released a controversial new ad that makes reference to President Barack Obama’s daughters – sparking outrage from critics who charged the spot is over the line…

The gun group’s spot came under immediate attack.

What a shock! (Of course, in true Saul Alinsky fashion the goal of the news media is to demonize the NRA at every turn.)

Former White House Press Secretary and Obama advisor Robert Gibbs slammed the ad on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Wednesday morning.

“I mean, it is disgusting on many levels,” Gibbs said. “It’s also just stupid.”

In other words, it’s effective. And there is no rational way to rebut it. So Gibbs had to resort to name-calling. (As usual.)

He added, “This reminds me of an ad that somebody made about 2:00 in the morning after one too many drinks, and no one stopped it in the morning.”

What a coincidence. ‘Baghdad Bob’ Gibbs has always reminds us of someone who has had too many drinks, too.

“What’s wrong with these people, Mika? What’s wrong with these people?” Joe Scarborough, host of “Morning Joe,” asked co-host Mika Brzezinksi in disbelief.

“They are out of step, out of the mainstream, totally out of sync with what’s going on in our society, and quite frankly after seeing that, I think some of the people who run that thing are sick,” Brzezinski said. “I really do. I think they are sick in the head.

And therefore they should never be allowed to own guns. QED. But, again, note the Alinsky-ite tactics at work. Marginalize any and all critics. Mock them. Demonize them.

“And I’m serious,” she continued. “I am embarrassed right now.”

Later, replaying the ad, Brzezinski added, “It may disgust you. It terrifies me.” …

She is easily terrified. Of course, she is mostly terrified that anyone would dare to stand up to Obama.

"Their whole goal is to ratchet up the rhetoric,” Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) said on CNN’s “Starting Point” about the NRA ad. She added, “Let’s stay calm. Let’s look at the function of these weapons… we need to ban those weapons that have the functionality that can kill a whole bunch of folks in just a few seconds.” …

Right. After all, the hallmark of the news media and the rest of the Democrat Party throughout the recent gun control debate has been their calmness. There has not been any hysteria from them at all.

Twitter reaction also took off after the video dropped…

“Trying to figure out what NRA is thinking with web ad targeting Obama girls. Who thinks that’s appropriate? #mitchellreports,” offered MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell.

Ron Fournier of National Journal group called the ad “low” in a tweet.

In a follow-up tweet, he added, “”Has the NRA Finally Gone Too Far?” My take: Hell, yes.” Fournier included a link to a post that further took the NRA to task. “The ad is indisputably misleading, and is arguably a dangerous appeal to the base instincts of gun-rights activists,” he wrote.

Fournier used to be the Washington Bureau Chief for the Associated Press. Which just shows you how unbiased they are.

John Dickerson of CBS News said on “CBS This Morning” that the video “makes a larger argument. It’s not just about guns,” he said. “It’s going into… negative views about the president. It uses all the emotional — presses all the emotional buttons for those people who don’t like the president and the NRA is making this about hypocrisy, not about safety.” …

And yet all of these same ‘reporters’ will heap praise upon Obama for surrounding himself with children when he announces his upcoming executive orders limiting the Second Amendment.

They are that stupid. And that smug about it.

NOTE TO DITTOHEADS: When was the last time the WH held a press conference during Rush’s show? Usually they wait to avoid getting ripped to shreds. Telling I think.

“[Gibbs] added, ‘This reminds me of an ad that somebody made about 2:00 in the morning after one too many drinks, and no one stopped it in the morning.’”

Hillary Clinton’s 3:00 AM phone call ad was right on. When the US Consulate was under attack in Benghazi, nerobama told the response team to stand down and nerobama went to bed to get a good night’s sleep while 4 Americans were murdered. Hillary didn’t do much either, but the point stands, the 3AM ad was right and this NRA ad is right, as well. Liberals get really animated when somebody tells the truth about them and Gibbs sounds like he was pretty “wee wee’d up” about the NRA ad.

No one believed Gibbs when he was press secretary, so why should they listen to him now?

The little dweeb should be making TV commercials for Preparation-H. After all, he’s an example of a perfect a**hole!

Ad Chris Christie’s blabbler mouth speaking against the NRA add.

How does he handle personal and global crisis.

He shouts at our children he does not care about some damn presidential election.

He admits he has no idea why he’s overweight and hired a personal trainer.

So, will Obama care pay for a personal trainer, only “public officials” get this perk.
