Had the GOP used such a group with a 501c Tax Exempt status there would have been such an uproar from the asleep at the wheel media..........
It's time to change tactics brothers and sisters!
No more Mr. Nice Guy!
I say,"Level the playing field!"
I've been mistaken before but not here.

I wonder how many of the close elections - Florida, Virginia, Ohio - were stolen by ACORN> I suspect that any state with a close margin was thrown to O. because of ACORN fraud. They should be investigated and not given a dime of public money.

"ACORN is an extremist organization that has come under close scrutiny lately for voter fraud activities."

Not lately but routinely! It couldn't be more obvious that ACORN works only for the Democrat party.

But they'll be rewarded (like every other organization that keeps dems in power) and you and I will finance it. The stimulus package, legislation and executive orders are meant to transfer wealth and consolidate political power. I think 2012 is a pipe dream if we continue to play politics as usual.

Can't we just also give $4 billion to the NRA and call it fair?

I mean, now that it has been determined that what you read in the Constitution, means what it says in the Constitution, owning a gun is an enumerated right, not some silly emanations from the penumbra.

I like what he says here:

"Using long, drawn-out processes to put money into circulation to meet an emergency is like mailing a letter to the fire department to tell them that your house is on fire."

If people were to just look at what the government is trying to do right now, they would understand. But because That One is involved in this package, they wouldn't dare question him.

Can you explain why the people of Massachusetts are actually pretty conservative, yet they vote over and over for liberal lunatics?

I've lived there, and once you get outside boston and the wealthy suburbs, the people are just regular folks, with the same concerns as red-staters. In some ways, they are even more conservative than in other parts of the country.

I've been chalking it up to the influence of all the universities and the Globe. My theory is that the residents have been brainwashed that they should bow politically to their betters. But you will have better insights.

I've stopped even bothering with the email/letter writing campaign as my senators are Teddy Kennedy and Kerry. The reps aren't much better at least it's Richard Neal and not Barney Frank but he's still a democrat anyways.

Required reading: the Depression Stimulation package in a nutshell

http://townhall.com/columnists/ThomasSowell/2009/01/27/what_are_they_buying

"No matter how many times President Barack Obama tells us that these "extraordinary times" call for "swift action," the kind of economic policies he is promoting take effect very slowly......What are the Beltway politicians buying with all the hundreds of billions of dollars they are spending? They are buying what politicians are most interested in-- power. "

Thomas Sowell is the clearest writer about economics ever.

I have done what I can, I sent an email expressing the pointless-ness of infrastructure spending to "create jobs" to my representative and both senators. Obviously pointless considering the big D in front of all their names but at least I tried. Perhaps you can have more luck. Seriously it takes about as much time to write a couple of comments here as to compose an email to your rep and senator. If you love this country PLEASE take the time and write (or call even!), regardless of party affiliation we have to be represented. Our silence is a disservice to this country!

Here's a call to action from Dick Armey (remember him?), via the Hawaii Reporter:

Stop the Left's Multi-Billion Dollar Handout to Liberal Allies

By Dick Armey, 1/26/2009

We knew it was coming, and it’s finally here.

After weeks and weeks of anticipating when and how the newer, stronger Democrat-led Congress would first strike against our individual liberties and expand the size of our already bloated government, the wait is over and we now know what we are up against.

This week both the House and Senate will be moving a massive $825 billion economic stimulus package full off wasteful spending, and worse still multi-billion dollar handouts to their liberal allies. Specifically, radical Left-wing groups such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) could have access to billions of dollars should this stimulus plan pass.

ACORN is an extremist organization that has come under close scrutiny lately for voter fraud activities. They have a notorious reputation for doing anything to get Democrats elected. Should your hard-earned tax dollars be used to make groups like this stronger?

It’s pretty obvious what the Democrats are trying to do. They want to strengthen their grassroots backbone so that they can dig in, protect their majority in Congress, and clear the way to enacting their big-government agenda for years to come.

In the name of Freedom, we can’t let them get away with this.

http://www.capwiz.com/freedomworks/issues/alert/?alertid=12513636

and send an urgent email to your Representative and Senators urging them to oppose the stimulus plan. And use our toll-free hotline to Congress at (866) 928-3035 to be connected with the offices of your lawmakers and hammer home this message. If you need help finding out who your Representative and Senators are or to learn what else you can do to combat these ideas, contact our grassroots team by replying to this email.

The stimulus plan being considered in Congress this week will do nothing to help spur the economy out of recession. What it will do is waste your hard-earned money and strengthen the hand of the Left.

Despite all the talk on the Left of bipartisanship and “reaching across the aisle,” fiscally sound approaches to boosting our economy such as tax cuts and tighter spending controls were ignored by the Democrat leadership.

Fight back against the Left’s first blow against our liberties. TAKE ACTION NOW!
