I worry about every cent and dime getting accounted for when I do my taxes, yet these “law makers” just seem to do as they please. What’s wrong with this picture?

Not all people have the financial means to pay their taxes on time. It’s not because they’re deadbeats or scofflaws but because life and all its uncertainties throws curves we don’t expect. But most law abiding citizens will pay their taxes if given enough time. For congressman Rangel to say what he did is laughable. There are many things elected officials get away with that would get us common folk crucified without pity. George Orwell penned it right in his novel Animal Farm: “All animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”

The crimes of Rangel and Geithner are the tip of the iceberg of tax cheating by the new American Aristocracy.

Don’t forget that in the one instance we have of a published tax return by the obscenely wealthy people who hate the country that made their wealth possible, Theresa Kerry paid 6/10th of 1% of her billion dollar fortune in income taxes in 2003. The only reason we have that 1040, and the only reason the % is that high, is that The Traitor was running for POTUS that year.

For most of you, that would be like paying around $60 in income tax (assuming a $100K annual income).

The fine lady “declared” about 5 million in income, so she told the government (that means you and I) that she was only able to earn 1/2 of 1% on her fortune that year. I guess she has bad financial advisors, because the stock market increased 26% in 2003.

And of the income she so generously stooped to declare, she paid taxes at a rate of 12.7%.

Sweet huh?

This year, I think everyone should complete their tax return by writing in “Rangel Rule” or “Geithner Option” on the line marked “Taxes Owed.”

Great – I assume this means we shall see the assessment of interest and penalties against Rangel and Geithner by the end of the day, correct?

Or will the IRS waive penalties for any taxpayer swearing that they “didn’t know” taxes were due?
