Govts Must Control Economies To Stop Obesity

From an unquestioning Reuters:

Study finds deregulation fuelling obesity epidemic

February 2, 2014

LONDON (Reuters) – Governments could slow or even reverse the growing obesity epidemic if they introduced more regulation into the global market for fast foods such as burgers, chips and fizzy drinks, researchers said on Monday.

A study published in the Bulletin of the World Health Organisation (WHO) suggested that if governments took firmer action, they could start to prevent people becoming overweight and obese – conditions with serious long-term consequences such as diabetes, heart diseases and cancer.

"Unless governments take steps to regulate their economies, the invisible hand of the market will continue to promote obesity worldwide with disastrous consequences for future public health and economic productivity," said Roberto De Vogli of the University of California, Davis, in the United States, who led the study.

So now the Left wants to use obesity as an excuse for governments  to control their economies. So add obesity to the list. Hitherto, we have been told by our betters that governments have to control their economies in order to combat global warming, and income inequality… And who knows what else.

Of course, it couldn’t be that socialists (and fascists) just want to control the economy so they can control their citizens. And they will latch onto any excuse to try to do so.

The WHO is urging governments to do more to try to prevent obesity happening in the first place, rather than risking the high human and economic costs when it does.

Suggested policies include economic incentives for growers to sell healthy, fresh foods; disincentives for industries to sell ultra-processed foods and soft drinks; cutting subsidies to growers and companies who use large amounts of fertilizers, pesticides, chemicals and antibiotics; and tighter regulation of fast-food advertising, especially to children.

Pesticides cause obesity? Or is it that they allow farmers to grow more food, so people can eat more?

The research analyzed the effect on obesity of deregulation in the economy over time, including in the agriculture and food sectors, and the resulting increase in so-called "fast food transactions" – in other words, the number of times people bought fast food…

Exactly where has the economy been "deregulated"? And how did that cause people to get fat?

Someone told me a joke once, that it wasn’t what they were painting on the backs of lab rats that caused cancer, but that they had gotten a batch of bad paintbrushes.

As this applies to the media, the people who write this tripe have no working knowledge of anything. Be it cascade failures, pyramid schemes, logical progression of events and results, what-have-you.

But what’s interesting is that people still read what they write and listen to what they say. But also remember, these so-called “journalists” are class-A little gossips. They were gossips when they were kids and grew up and entered this field of “business” because they simply transmit what they hear from others….without having any technical knowledge or abilities themselves.

The like to throw a “grenade in the room” and then walk away and take delight in the resulting furor. In fact, Obama is also a master at it. He loves ruffling feathers and making trouble. It’s his only recognizable “skill”. Perhaps that’s why his handlers got him elected because, in the nation as it stands today, there are a lot of dissatisfied people, who, because of our education system and victim-enhanced marketing strategy, want someone to blame other than themselves and Obama and the mediots provide just that vehicle.

“S’not my fault…lookit what they made me do” says the child-molester.
“I can’t be blamed…I’s just a po’ black chile” as the excuse has gone on for generations.

And so many more. Oft-repeated and pathetically BELIEVED by the stupid people. And there are SO many stupid people. We crank them out like a Play-Doh machine. Just as malleable to boot.

So…it’s no wonder that stupid people think other people who write crap like this are “smart”. They are impressed by the 6PM millionaires who repeat the socialist lines and yet no one realizes what a socialist is anymore.

    How odd.

It’s not the commo-fascist malarkey that scares me, since this is nothing new. It’s not the fact that it’s in America, as this has been going on for decades. No, it’s that the attempt to conceal it is thinner than human hair even when it’s presented in “legitimate” main stream media. And people laughed at me when I said that moochelle’s arugula initiative was a way to soften the blow for food rationing, to make it a bit more of a palatable pill to swallow. Wait and see.

Although I do agree with one part. Stop subsidizing those people who use pesticides. For that matter, stop federal subsidies entirely. My daddy always told me that government subsidies exist soley for things that wouldn’t make money on their own. Ironically, I would lump stopping subsidies into the dreaded de-regulation catagory.

Roberto De Vogli is an admitted Marxist, who supports De-growth. In spite of his claiming a suicide hike rate of 17% of suicide from recessions, Roberto De Vogli makes the claims recessions and depressions are good on people because defines “De-growth” to mean
people starving and going without food will lose weight and live longer.

He pretends in his studies have witnessed people live longer in just the last few years. Though he has not examined any people, or ran any tests that told him someone was living longer, he just knows.

Such as he accepts without evidence that people in Cuba are living longer. He personally witnessed the group of skinny people Cuba orders to dress clean and eat fruit and whistle and sing though the markets. The older people are given a jolt of heroin so they can for short period of time walk drop the cane, walk with ease, and smile like they are rainbows and birds.

De Vogli, a thin skeletal young man whose skin is slightly grey and bones sticking out defines him dark almost a goth near death appearance. He may look decades older than his age, but he knows he’s going to live longer than rest of the world. The darkness and number of “De-growth”
“De-Creases” in his skin looks almost as if he’s been airbrushed or tatooed, but his vision is distorted as that of middle-class anorexia. In Anorexia those suffering from the eating disorder can not see their bones sticking out and that in reality they are near death. They see themselves as fat. And in De Vogli’s situation he can not see him or other people suffering from starvation
as near death. De Vogli’s anorexia also leads him to be one of those that sees healthy people as dying.
De Vogli’s tunnel vision has taken the socialist broad term of “De-growth” and turned in it to that of only meaning eating less food and living longer.

“De-Growth” is a cult like organization spreading around the world that has far greater meaning than how De Vogli uses it to mean eating less and living longer. It is already difficult how he can turn recessions and depressions in countries into a marvelous thing for countries, putting aside the suicide and depression and sickness as small bananas compared to the fruits of the body starving.

De Vogli’s goal is brainwash people that “De-Growth” is not only harmless, but a wonderful thing to happen as he is obsessed about wanting to live a long life. He has not even considered other factors such as genetics, or only a small percentage lives longer.
ion of eating and not eating food

Vogli, a rather skinny skeleton looking gothic thug who raves against prosperity and wealth and happiness is bent on seeing the only good thing is if there is an entire depression and recession on the entire globe.

Vogli discovered that such as the 2008 recession people were not able to afford fixing their teeth and as they lost their rotting teeth they couldn’t eat as much food or chew meat as well.

Even though Vogli has not lived long enough, nor waited long enough after studying the recent
recession in Europe, nor medically examined or performed tests on the people, he states they have already lived long longer even though he didn’t wait to claim this De-growth. \

Further, the Marxist lover Vogli thinks he can take Cuba’s word that people are living longer without taking into count the suicide rate, abortion rate, and not studying the people in Cuba at all.

It is destroys any accountability Vogli claims to have witnessed or seen happen.

“De-growth” is becoming a growing cult in the global world of sustainability.

I don’t know why Vogli would used a word like ‘De-growth” instead of “die off or lose weight from going hungry as his main focus.

He attends the De-growth Conference 2014 in Germany, perhaps he will see his studies are
gibberish once immersing himself in the full meaning as “De-growth” experts explain below.

    Degrowth Conference 2014

“The Degrowth Conference questions the importance of growth for economic policy and seeks to promote social and sustainable alternatives. The 2014 conference will give room for scientific debates, exchange between activists and economic/cultural pioneers and
also artistic approaches to the subject.

It is part of an international cycle of events: so far, there have been conferences on degrowth in Paris 2008, in Barcelona 2010 and in Venice and Montreal 2012.

    Why degrowth?

Many analyses from various scientific disciplines imply that a growth-based economic and social system cannot have a future: Despite a growing number of technological solutions for “Green Growth”, inequality and the destruction of nature are significantly on the rise. It is high time to develop economic and social models that are independent of growth and can provide for a good life for everybody. “
