It wouldn’t work. Sepuku, a.k.a. Hari Kari, involves the use of your best friend to honorably stand over you with an upraised sword to lop you head off after you’ve slashed open your bowels. No politician in D.C. is that brave or devoted to seek the honorable way out of their predicament.

Grassley is one of those that inspite of Tim Geithner’s tax invasion, said he would be good for the job. He’s doing the new salute and step dance. Further, when Bush passed the Federal Whistlers Protection Act, Grassley failed to make it work and do anything about Federal bully’s. Everyone can do what they want now, that’s for sure.

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley suggested that AIG executives should take a Japanese approach toward accepting responsibility for the collapse of the insurance giant by resigning or killing themselves.

As far as I’m concerned, we should clean house in DC with “a Japanese approach” since none of them would resign-EVER. Perhaps GrASSley can offer up some Kool-Aid for those who have no cajones for the sword before taking his own advice.

Why are we picking on Grassley for joining the political AIG dogpile?

Remember, it was Mitch McConnell, the Senate Minority Leader, who started it all yesterday by complaining that Democrats hadn’t done enough to stop AIG from paying the bonuses!

It’s completely ridiculous.

OK AIG had these retention bonuses in the works since last year. . .Obviously this must be another bill/report/note that our Congresscritters never bothered to read before voting.

In the Generational Theft Act- Dodd himself put in a stipulation that bonuses prior to Feb. 2009 were exempt . . .so once again our vaulted Klownposse pretending to be leaders in DC are going to act as though they did not have a single thing to do with what is happening around them (or what they themselves have wrought upon us).

Meanwhile threats against the people in AIG who are attempting to keep that company financially viable are growing. Thanks to the DC crowd and their propaganda machine the msm.

You know when I will buy the bs from another one of these Congresscritters – when they vote themselves a pay freeze. Alas even that would be too hard for them.

Lead by example – Something quite impossible from the Do As I Say Not As I Do Crowd.

From 2 weeks ago, but published on Tapper’s web-site yesterday:

Two years ago Grassley was harrassing six evangelical ministers over their finances. Interesting thing about that was that he was trying to do it through the Senate and not the IRS. All six ministries were in compliance with the IRS. And the ministries were working off legislation that Grassley himself wrote for religious organizations in the 1980s.

Such a clASSy guy.
