Grayson: Dem Loss Due To Appeasement

From his teary eyed fans at the Politico:

Alan Grayson blames Dem ‘appeasement’

By: Meredith Shiner
November 4, 2010

Ousted Florida Rep. Alan Grayson, one of the most outspoken, liberal members of the House, said Thursday that Tuesday’s election was a "national disaster" and a repudiation of the Democrats’ "strategy of appeasement."

For the record, remember how the Democrats howled when President Bush used the ‘A-Word’ in a speech before Israel’s Knesset back in May of 2008?

Even though Mr. Bush was referencing the Jews and WWII, and didn’t even mention Mr. Obama and the Democrats. But apparently the shoe fit a little too well for comfort for the Democrats.

In his first interview since losing his seat, Grayson upended conventional wisdom about his party’s 60-seat loss in the House, saying that if Democrats had been more progressive in their policies, Democratic voters would have gone to the polls.

Mr. Grayson regularly upends reality. In fact, he and reality are seldom in the same room.

"Our strategy for two years has been appeasement, and look where it got us," Grayson said on MSNBC.

Yes, the way ‘healthcare reform’ was rammed through Congress via ‘reconciliation’ is a perfect example of the Democrats desire for peace at any price.

"I think Democrats want to see a fighting leadership, they want to see a fighting president — somebody who actually accomplishes good things for constituents." As examples of what Democrats should have focused on, Grayson listed the Employee Free Choice Act, immigration reform, civil rights and women’s rights.

But Mr. Grayson isn’t a tool of the special interests. Not at all. But, please Democrats, run on those issues. But honest about your agenda.

Let the American people really show you what they think of you.

Grayson also took a direct shot at Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, recommending that Reid read William Butler Yeats’s "Slouching Toward Bethlehem," which contains the line "The best lack all conviction, while the worst/Are full of passionate intensity."

The poem is actually called, ‘The Second Coming,’ but details don’t seem to be Mr. Grayson’s strong suit. And, naturally, the poem mean precisely the opposite of what he thinks it does. (See more on the poem below.)

Grayson did not rule out another run for his 8th District seat, despite losing by 18 points on Tuesday to GOP challenger Daniel Webster.

"If that’s what the people want, then I’ll be back," Grayson said.

We hope Mr. Grayson becomes the new Harold Stassen (or Gus Hall) and runs every year. He is pure comic gold, especially now that he is just another toothless crank.

By the way, Yeats’ poem, ‘The Second Coming,’ written in 1919, actually foretells the disastrous rise of Communism that the Russian Revolution unleashed upon the world.

Here is its first stanza:

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Of course, Mr. Grayson’s ignorance in all things is really quite astonishing.

But he was inadvertently right in suggesting that Mr. Reid could learn from the poem.

When this horses ass gives a press conference, how can they determine which end to point the cameras at?

We need to start a campaign to get Grayson elected head of the DNC. He would be spearheading the Republican drive for supermajorities in both houses for 2012.

      Well said, BO.
Hopefully we won’t see that ugly mug gracing the TV screen anytime in the future.
God, that man is ugly………..both presence and manner!

LD, I live in Grayson’s district and I remember when he ran the first time, On a political mailer his opponent featured Grayson’s photo with horns and a beard (satan). I haven’t been able to look at that mug since without seeing those horns and beard. lol.

Certainly fit. I can’t tell you how glad I am to see that evil idiot go.

However, reading this story, it’s hard to tell if he’s evil, or just plain stupid. I vote both.

Grayson must be more despised by the marxists than he is by Americans.

Rule number 1 for the marxists is to lie at all times. Mr. Grayson can’t seem to avoid the truth in some of his pronouncements about his intent and the intent of his masters.

He will probably be soon be experiencing his well-deserved afterlife.

You’re probably right, but Grayson was actually a nutroots hero to the True Believer wing of the coalition because of that perceived honesty. He’s won all sorts of praise from Marxists all the way up to Obama. His “fighting spirit” (aka maligning and badgering) with Conservatives is what the nutroots wanted in Obama, that’s how many fries short they are of their banned San Francisco Happy Meal. He had a huge following at Huffing and Puffington.

Read a report that his district was never even that firmly Democrat, he was one of these Freshman’s that the people voted in on Barry’s tails that turned out to be completely off the rockers.

The one interesting aspect to Grayson’s short tenure is how the Dems had him specifically doing the original inquisition into TARP and the Fed’s missing trillions. If you don’t remember, Alan’s the one who in early Summer of 2009 dropped the famous line of “Nobody’s tending the shop at the Federal Reserve” to the IG. The weird thing is that he was precisely right, which left me wondering why Congress would risk exposing the Fed and the White House’s war on the dollar like that, because they’re in it together. Did Grayson just not know?

No, because if you read his rants at Huffington, you knew that he was saying it was all another Wall Street conspiracy again. Oh, they have a whole narrative including the book “Shadow Elite” built around it blaming who else but the Zionists and the NeoKKKons again.

I learned a lot about the Left through that whole episode, their strategy, their plans for the financial endgame of their coup. Needless to say I’m quite sick of hearing about it now. Same with aliens. And Cthulhu. All of it needs to go back into that area of history we call Wackyland with Mr. Grayson where it belongs.

“Grayson was actually a nutroots hero ”

Well, let’s look at that for a moment.

I view the nutroots as politburo groupies. They aren’t the true marxists; just people with their hands out and tongue’s dangling.

The real marxists are in a different class altogether. Ayers, Wright, Axelrod, community organizers, Jarret, and of course, Obamy, Soros and the other puppet masters. I don’t even consider Pelosi and Reid to be real marxists. Ruling Class, yes, and more than willing to be the stools of the marxists, but those two are just too damn stupid to enact a long-term strategy to take over 7/11, no matter a political system.

And Grayson is just a nutsroot basement dweller with money. He stands out because he is like the little kid who can’t help blurting out to daddy that mommy had a friend visit today but johnny isn’t supposed to say anything.

Most Dimocrats are in the Grayson camp, but with more self control. Other than being annoying (and richly deserving of being executed along with Marie Antoinette’s other sychophants), they aren’t really a problem. This country has had tons of people like them from day one. They wear whatever clothes line their pockets the fastest. The Constitution was designed to foil them and it has done a great job of that for over 200 years.

Bute the Moron is new strain of virus (for this country), and far far more dangerous than the Ruling Class or basement jackoffs. That guy is deadly serious. He and his controllers are professionals just like Lenin was a professional. When Vladimir rode the train into Russia in 1918, it was a new game just like the game changed when Barry rode the train into Washington in 2008.

Agreed. Over half the country still likes Obama personally and think he may even be a good person at heart. Half the country also just believe he’s incompetent. Both are grave misjudgments that need to continue to be corrected.

I suppose the Puppetmasters are the true Marxists over the wool-eyed idealists since History has proven what Marxism yields and the Ruling Class understands it as much as us. Even after the biggest political massacre in the modern era, the very crafted words they now speak and moves they make are bubbling over with arrogance and contemptable glee over how they still have their boot on America’s neck. A different beast entirely from the average Liberal dummy who if they do have animus towards their country would never carry it out to such a diabolically preordained & destructive degree.

  3. Reality Bytes says:

Yeah, like a cold sore, he’ll be back.

  4. Mithrandir says:

The great BOMB THROWER got bombed out of office! When you look and see who lost, and what liberal programs were voted down, November 2nd was truly historic!

Republicans get win for “40 years” if they do some things:

    ~Reduce everyone’s pay by 10%.
~Don’t fund the Dept of Education, it’s a state responsibility
~Don’t fund the Dept of Energy. Shrink it, and pay for ACTUAL research on alternative fuel, a la Los Alamos level of intensity.
    ~Don’t fund the president’s Czars.
~Don’t fund our military in Iraq / Afghanistan. That’s right, force their removal, a full bug-out! Screw those countries and all of our welfare spending on them.
    ~Stop foreign aid.
~Don’t fund the obligatory 25% of the U.N.s budget.
~Don’t send money for disasters around the world, there are 192 other countries that can do that.
~Reduce our military bases around the world. Send them to the U.S. border.
~Stop paying for school breakfast, lunch, and dinner, that is a state responsibility.
~Stop funding colleges that support racist affirmative action, speech codes and student violation of Constitutional rights.
    ~Revoke the hated Lautenberg amendment.
~Lower drinking age back to 19.
~Don’t fund states that are sanctuary cities. A violation of federal law.
~Don’t fund states in which illegals are not checked in public school, hospitals etc.
G*d, the list is huge, this country is soooooo broken, I often wonder if it should collapse and start over….
