They actually give me a lot of leeway because of my schedule and long (2 hours each way at least 3 x per week) commute. I try to bring treats on the days when we have student recitals scheduled (I accompany those), so they know when to hit the division office looking for the good stuff.

I meant to reply to your post, proreason! The college where I teach is rather small by State College standards (fewer than 2,000 students) so my experience might be different if I were teaching in one of the larger schools with thousands of students. Still, chocolate helps a lot!!!

Actually, they really like me because I’m nice to the staff, bring in brownies on a fairly regular basis, and fudge at Christmas (oops, Holiday) time. I inquire as to how they are doing, try to get to know them by name. All I have to do is to see one or the people in the hall to tell them if I need something done in my office, and it usually gets taken care of.

I am wondering the same thing – a mayor of a very small steel town (which is full of mostly long-term unemployed section 8 project dwellers -sorry if that sounds elitist but it is accurate ) is always advertising for “green jobs”

The most offensive thing about these ads, is the fact that we could have still had many employed in the steel industry if it was not for the greed of the unions and now they are going to also run the “green industry”, I guess they failed to learn from history so they are doomed to repeat it. Very sad indeed. I was a child during the steel bust – it was a very troubling time in southwestern Pennsylvania.

These guys don’t just run apartment buildings.

They run every building, big and small — at least in the states they currently infest.

So there is a great chance we will all eventually pay in some small way for their “ministrations.”

I am sure everyone who owns a multi million dollar apartment in NYC, who is no longer able to afford it due to the economy and attack on capitalism… is happy the window washer is calling the shots…

Perhaps during Christmas, the doorman will hand out the fat envelope, instead of the tenants.

Boy, and I know this is catty-but those are some of the most homeliest people I’ve seen in a long time.
Can someone please tell me how this “green jobs” scam got to be so “popular” when it’s going to add expense to most people’s homes? But the union thugs sure are a happy, fat lot are they not?
