Time limits are a very MUCH needed thing. That would go a long way toward weeding out the deadwood. But that’s also exactly why we won’t get them!

I think I would only add to your reasons that if an honest politian wants to get a really good bill passed, something that is good for all Americans, not just a few, he DOES, as you say, have to play the game.

In order to get his honest and good bill passed…to get the needed votes…he must compromise and vote for someone else’s pork….and on and on it goes…deeper and deeper into the muck until he comes out looking like one of the pigs.

Yeah, I do understand it…But its just so disapointing.

Makes me want to go kick the wall.

But they are very very few.

First, politicians have to distort their views just to get elected. That is corrupting.
Then, they get in that Washington sewer where they are surrounded by criminals of all sort.
Third, the bribes they are offered are so overwhelming that it takes a saint not to succomb.
Fourth, to make a difference it is easy to convince oneself that it is necessary to “play the game”.

Try, just try to find a national politician who hasn’t become rich beyond imagination in office. If you find one, THAT person should be running the country.

This is why I think that term limits are the only hope for the country.

I know he isn’t “stupid” and I am ready to give him credit for wanting to work for something better for us, but from “within the belly of the beast”?

Sometimes you have to realize the beast you are trying to save will devour you. Better to work from afar and not from within the belly.

If Obalmy’s cabinet was TRULY bipartizan I think he would have been a wonderful addition. Problem was it will never be bipartiaz…and as a DC insider he should be able to see that.

He wasn’t “stupid” for taking the position. Our jaded sensibilities should also remain flexible enough to occasionally recognize men of integrity when we find them. Until we learn more, what I’ve seen of Gregg seems sincere and I take him at his words.

Sad tho…if this WAS the reason it doesn’t say much for him does it?

Talk about being tired….I’m weary of most ALL of the DC crowd.

I am disapointed that anyone as respected as Gregg would even consider such a position.

He had no chance to be of any help to the American people and would have been a sitting duck for any blame they wanted to throw his way.

Maybe its me…and someone, PLEASE show me why this might have been a good thing for Gregg or the Conservs,….but I just don’t get why he would have even considered this position.

Was Gregg intentionally misled so that his vote would be neutralized on the pork bill? Seems like it, since he obviously accepted the Commerce nomination believing he would oversee the 2010 census. One more notch in the False Messiah’s belt of deception.

It basically is taking back control of the currency and money. It is not denying that Federal Reserve notes are legal tender, it is just saying that it is not constitutional money via Section 10 of Article 1. And in that lay an enormous amount of power and the reassertion of states rights (9th and 10th),(and high time I might add).

All of this crap stops when the several states take back control of the pocketbook.
