Rusty, I got a ticket from a State Trooper on Tuesday morning. If you’ve seen ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’ you now exactly what he looked like – I expected him to call me ‘Mayo’! But when he got to the car, he was so polite and kind, we actually carried on a conversation and shook hands at the end of our ‘visit’. Like you said, he didn’t care that I was a white boy in a nice car, he just wondered what I did for a living and if he should stay in the force or get into the private sector! A real gentleman, and, as you said, how folks of different races would more often treat each other if the idiots shut up and got off the danged television…

I’ve been getting tired of the NFL for about a decade anyway.

They can forgive Michael Vicks, forgive many many other felons and criminals on the player rosters, use college football as a minor league, take advantage of players in many ways, look aside for years at flagrant drug abuse, but they accept lies about Rush?

No more NFL for me.

Kind of figured Leno’s poor taste joke from last night would make the rounds. For those who don’t know about it,

JAY LENO: Oh, and did you hear about this? And today, Rush Limbaugh, who was trying to buy the St. Louis Rams, has downplayed racial comments that he’s made in the past by saying– He said, if he was a racist, why would he want to be part of a business that is 70 percent African American?

Well, I don’t know, maybe because you would OWN them?

Think that has anything to do with it?

I was watching the show and there wasn’t a whole lot of laughter. Nervous or otherwise.

Anyone who says Rush makes racist comments, has either never listened to his show, only listens to what others say about him and his show, or takes something he said completely out of context. That’s the trouble with our sound-bite world.

Anyhow, he doesn’t need defending. Eventually, I think I would want a front row seat when he sues Jackson and Sharpton, et al and hands them their asses.

Like most Americans, black and white alike, I’m really sick of hearing all this. Let me give you a fer-instance.

Yesterday, my truck’s battery went dead in the walmart parking lot. I asked a guy if he wouldn’t mind giving me a jump start. He obliged gracefully and willingly. I had cables, he pulled his truck right over and we got it done. He was black. I live in South Carolina.

Day before that, the UPS guy dropped off a package and, AS USUAL, we engaged in polite social banter. It was about his kids, the economy, the cost of living, etc. He’s black too. I don’t kiss his ass and he doesn’t speak or look at me with contempt.

They are PEOPLE. Always been that way. I treat em all the same.

This is the America I would like to live in and mostly, I think I do. But it’s the troublemakers…always….that …well…cause trouble.

I think that were it not for them, we might be surprised as to the actual progress we can make.

I call on the right NOT TO get Oberman off ESPN Sunday night. Keep him there in stark contrast to their indignation over Cuddly Little Fuzz Ball, Rush Limbaugh. It just be the best way to make our point.

Alas, the half twitted suits will realize this & remove them without any help from us. I’ll be sorry to see him go – not since Gomez Addams has there been a bigger loon on TV (at least Gomez was funny).

This is a story that the real story is the backstory (who leaked the ‘news’ and why) but alas it is also a very scary comment on just how far to the left and the desire to silence anyone not in the ‘correct’ political belief is in America today. The man does not need defending – he will do it quite well himself, but the vile, despicable nature of destroying and silencing anyone we don’t agree with – is what is causing the destruction of America. The Tea Party Groups, the 9/12 Project and many grassroots groups (Move America Forward etc) have been decrying this move Left for a while now. My question is: Is there anyone in a position of power (House, Senate, Supreme Court, msm) who has the backbone and courage to stand up and say No, this is wrong?

God Help America – and I weep for my children’s and grandchildren’s future.
