Hans Blix Hails Iran Nuclear Plant Launch

From Iran’s Press TV:

Blix hails ‘positive’ Bushehr plant launch

Sun, 22 Aug 2010
One day after Iran launched its first nuclear power plant, former UN chief weapons inspector Hans Blix has hailed "positive" cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.

Iran began injecting the first supply of nuclear fuel into the Bushehr nuclear power plant on Saturday, after Russia delivered its ffirst [sic] batch of nuclear fuel.

The fact that Russia is supplying Iran with fuel is "very positive," as it demonstrates that Tehran could rely on foreign suppliers for its fuel need, Blix told the BBC on Sunday.

In case anyone still had any illusions about whose side Mr. Blix is on.

The remarks came on the heel of similar claims by State Department spokesman Darby Holladay.

Holladay acknowledged that the Iranian nuclear facility carries no risk of proliferation but stressed that launching the power plant "underscores that Iran does not need an indigenous enrichment capability if its intentions are purely peaceful."

In case anyone still had any illusions about whose side the State Department is on.

The west insists that Iran should exchange its low-enriched uranium abroad for fuel for a medical research reactor.

However, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi has rejected such claims.

"Suppose we receive the required nuclear fuel for the plant from the Russians for the next ten years, what are we going to do for the next 30 to 50 years?" the Iranian nuclear point man queried on Saturday

In other words, the Iranians are going to continue to pursue highly enriched uranium – for their massive medical research program.

The only conceivable explanation is that anti-semitism is the most powerful force the world has ever seen.

It boils down to this: “we are willing to accept the high probability of nuclear weapons detroying most of the planet in order that the Jews be annihalated.”

“……..the Iranians are going to continue to pursue highly enriched uranium – for their massive medical research program.”

Somehow I just don’t see Ahmanutsak dumping medical waste on Israel.
But if the U.N. is excited, what could possibly go wrong?

Stalin would have loved Hans Blix if he were alive today.

Nevertheless, Stalin would also love this useful idiot Holladay as well…..

“Holladay acknowledged that the Iranian nuclear facility carries no risk of proliferation….”

Does it count as prolferation if the clerics and mullahs gladly hand out nuclear waste to their “proxies”?

“…but stressed that launching the power plant “underscores that Iran does not need an indigenous enrichment capability if its intentions are purely peaceful.

The country whose leaders want Israel wiped off the face of the earth, the country that is the envy of other state-supporting terrorists, the country that supplies Hamas and Hezzbolah with weapons…..and it needs to be questioned if its intentions are peaceful?

Yeah okay, its obvious the Kool-Aid is strong in this one.

Why do the Iranians need nuclear capability for a medical program whose main contribution to medical science is the severing of heads with a dull scimitar?

Isn’t it only right for Iran to acquire nuclear weopons, since we hear in America have them as well? Isn’t a question of fairness?? I mean just because Iran has threatened Isreal with complete annihilation should be no reason for the U.S. to be hypocritical about keeping nuclear weopons. I mean aren’t they just for deterrence purposes? As far as this logic goes, EVERY country in the world should have nuclear weopons to deter one another, right?? Why, don’t stop with Iran, shouldn’t we allow all 7th century thinking nations to acquire them? Isn’t that the fair thing?

Ideally, they would destroy one another, after we start over, nobody would have nuclear weopons. Isn’t this what liberals want?

      Chinnubie,

Are you aware that the tongue-in-cheek argument you have advanced is indeed the argument of nutters around the world (and yes, even in this country)?

Many people think the world is much safer now than it has ever been, and in some ways they are right. In 90% of the country’s of the world, you can travel without being attacked by bandits. Piracy has never been less prevalent. Slavery is probably less frequent than it is ever been. Women are safer, on average, than they have ever been. Children are less abused than at any time in history. Many people in many countries are safe in their homes from burglars and marauding brigands.

But at the same time, we are closer to completely destroying the planet with nuclear weapons than ever before; and before nuclear weapons, there was nothing even remotely close to them.

On balance, we live in the most dangerous point in time ever.

And it gets more dangersous every second.

Fools allow it to happen so they can acquire another mililitre of power.

These are the people who rule us.

  6. Chinnubie says:

Look, I was trying to show how crazy it is to let everyone acquire nuclear weapons, I wish they did not exist at all, and I certainly do not think they should be in the hands of evil people. They have already told us they want to wipe Isreal off the map, and we still pander to these people, they think we are a joke. I don’t know what the answer is, because we know what happens if a bomb is dropped, we have seen it first hand, and that is certainly not the answer. But, we can not let that kind of power get into the hands of mad men.
