Harry Reid: GOP Must Take Responsibility

A press release from the ever gracious Mr. Reid, via The Hill:

The time for politics is over (Sen. Harry Reid)

By Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) – 11/03/10

While we await the full results of outstanding races throughout the country, I welcome the newest members of Congress, including those who will be joining our Senate Democratic caucus. I congratulate them for earning the confidence of their constituents

Something, we might add, Mr. Reid does not enjoy. Unless of course you are talking about the (ahem) gambling interests and the unions.

[A]nd look forward to working with these new members on both sides of the aisle to find shared solutions to our shared problems.

That’s Mr. Reid. The voice of came reason and compromise at all times. (Cf. his ‘meltdown’ on the eve of the TARP bailout, for just one example.)

The message that voters throughout Nevada and all across the nation sent to Washington is that they want Democrats, Republicans and Independents to work together to find the common ground needed for real solutions and real progress.

The message was that they want the government to cut spending and get off their backs. Mr. Reid will never agree to that. He cannot even comprehend such a notion.

I will keep fighting to make sure that big banks, big oil, those who want to privatize Social Security and other powerful special interests are prevented from taking advantage of middle-class families and small businesses.

And he will keep fighting for the special interests of the ‘gambling concerns’ and the unions and the rest of his ‘taker’ constituency who put him into office against the will of the people of Nevada.

And I also welcome every opportunity to work with our Republican colleagues as we know the challenges that lie ahead of us know no political affiliation.

Except that most of these "challenges" were created by Democrats’ attempts to buy votes and reward their foot soldiers.

While this could be considered a tough election for some who were on the ballot this year it is nothing compared to the fight that Nevada families are facing to stay in their homes, workers are facing to find good jobs and keep them, and small businesses are facing to keep their doors open and remain competitive.

Meanwhile, Mr. Reid has done his level best to make these ‘fights’ harder for all of them.

The time for politics is now over.

Not to be contrarian, but obviously the time for politics has just begun. And we hope the Republicans are finally prepared to take the gloves off.

And now that Republicans have more members in both houses of Congress, they must take their responsibility to present bipartisan solutions more seriously.

Why? To paraphrase the master, "They won!"

Simply saying ‘no’ will do nothing to create more jobs, support our middle-class and strengthen our economy.

To paraphrase yet another historical figure, we, the American people, ‘have only just begun to say no.’

We must spare no effort to get back to work immediately in order to restore the American Dream for the millions of Nevadans and all Americans.

This from the same man who willing destroyed our economy just to get his position of power. And who then had the unmitigated chutzpah to claim he had nothing to do with the bad economy.

Once again, Mr. Reid proves that he is even smaller than he appears.

    Let’s ask Darrell Issa: http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/11/the_question_everyone_is_askin.html

Hopefully, Dingy Harry will be forced to answer some real questions…not softballs put to him by a fawning press.

“to find shared solutions to our shared problems”

The only problems we have are about 180 Representatives, 52 Senators and the Manchurian Candidate still occupying the white house.

Seriously, we have to stop acknowledging the “seriousness” of “our problems”.

There isn’t a single problem we have today that even begins to rise to the difficulty of the Revolution, slavery, populating a wilderness continent, building an enormous transportation infrastructure, the Civil War, the World Wars, the Cold War, or assimilating millions of citizens from dozens of nations.

Don’t buy into the malarkey that fixing financial crimes and defeating a few camel buggers are insolvable or even difficult problems to solve. Every single issue we face can be solved in a few months without the marxists blocking the way. The MARXISTS are the problem. Period.

Mr. Reid, give me a barf-up break!

Reid is a communist old goat who should have been sent packing. He doesn’t see it as HIS OR COMMIECRATS’ responsibility to compromise, only republicans. Nothing has changed in his senile mind.

  5. preparing4theworst says:

Now, why should the republicans take responsibility for the likes of Bill Clinton, Barney Franks, Chris Dodd and Andrew Cuomo and the things that THEIR actions did to the economy?????

What a waste of skin and bones. Time and space. Just a plain waste!!
Room temperature can’t come soon enough so Teddy can fight him over a place to sit.

I don’t think the country can take six more years of the bullshit issuing from the mouth of this weasel-faced turd! Re-electing this piss-ant to another term should be a capital offense. What a yutz!!

Sharron Angle though already conceded…she may be regretting it now.

FCAFlyer, I truly believe there was voter fraud, as Reid was behind awhile.

I think Sharon did not protest, because she probably figures it’s not worth losing her life. The notorious Reid thugs would bury her. Harry Reid is at the top of twisted, lying pieces of #!*&%.
