Harry Reid Melts Down On Live TV – Video

If you missed his news conference with “Countrywide” Chris Dodd, you missed one of the most bizarre performances by a politician in the history of the Republic.

“Senate Democrats, House Democrats, and Senate Republicans agree those principles laid out by Senator Obama are the ones that must be implanted with regards to the issue, what’s called the ‘principles of fairness.’ … The insertion of presidential politics has not been helpful. It’s been harmful … A few days ago I called on Senator McCain to take a stand, let us know where he stands on this issue … But all he has done is stand in front of the cameras. We still don’t know where he stands on the issue. “

One of the highlights of Mr. Reid’s bizarre rant was that he repeatedly claimed that he wants to take Presidential politics out of this.

And this is the same Harry Reid who said this just the other day on ABC News:

Harry Reid: “We need the Republican nominee for President to let us know where he stands — and what we should do.”

Then he blasted John McCain for coming in and disrupting their “deal.” A deal that appears to have never existed.

Hilarious.

We will post clips and transcripts of his paranoid gibbering as they become available.

One of the silver linings in this cloud is that anyone sitting up and taking notice should finally see the unbelievably low caliber of our “leaders” of the Democrat persuasion.

Is it just me, or do the Dems seem panicky? I take that as an awfully good sign.

I didn’t see this, but I picture in my head the scene with Mortimer Duke at the end of “Trading Places”. The scene where he meltsdown after he and his brother were financially wiped out. I picture Reid doing something very similar. LOL

Bela Pelosi on the am shows was saying they were going to pass the deal without pub house votes. Come on Harry pass it your crappy bill.

And keep that BS about giving ACORN 20% of the profits. I’m starting to get the idea that this is the “Save Goldman Sachs” bailout. Henry Paulson’s people giving Obama talking points?

    WHO IS THIS GUY, Paulson?

(a dem, a greenie, and a former head of Goldman)

What???!!! He talks about “those principles laid out by SENATOR OBAMA” at about minute 1:08. WHAT principles? Why is Obambi getting credit for ANY of this, when he had to be yanked back to Washington by President Bush? I just don’t get it!!!!

  7. notsoyoungjim says:

Rush was talking about this in the first hour:

When Sen. Barack Obama was given the floor to speak during White House negotiations, according to White House aides, he did so raising concerns about a House Republican alternative to the Paulson/Bernanke $700 billion bailout. But those concerns weren’t necessarily his, as he was not aware of the GOP plan before reviewing notes provided him by Paulson loyalists in Treasury prior to entering the meeting.

According to an Obama campaign source, the notes were passed to Obama via senior aides traveling with him, who had been emailed the document via a current Goldman Sachs employee and Wall Street fundraiser for the Obama campaign. “It was made clear that the memo was from ‘friends’ and was reliable,” says the campaign source.

The memo allowed Obama and his fellow Democrats to box in Republican attendees and essentially took what President Bush had billed as a negotiating meeting off the rails.

“Paulson and his team have not acted in good faith for this President or the administration for which they serve,” says a House Republican leader who was not present at the White House meeting, but who instead is part of the team hammering out the House GOP alternative. “We keep hearing about how Secretary Paulson is working with Democrats on this or that, yet he never seems to consider working with the party that essentially hired him. Perhaps he’s auditioning for a Democratic administration job. Our proposal didn’t just spring forth fully formed; we’ve been working on this for several days, and Treasury staff has known about it.”

The ones responsible for the mess want to be the ones who give us the fix. I suggest you may want to look at what else you are getting in the process.

Soooooooo exactly what is the real problem with Reid and Pelosi and the 110th Congress? I vaguely recall having heard somewhere (and I hope I am correct) that the Dems held the majority in Congress – and that they were just doing what the majority of Americans want them to do. . .So why do Reid & Pelosi continually sound like a couple of whining kids who want to blame the other guy when crap happens?

They banked on the ‘economy’ being the winner for their candidate Obama – and looked what happened – it blew up in their faces (since they have been screwing with the economy for decades) – and their candidate acted like a prom queen who found out the venue that the prom was being held at burned down and there would be no crowning moment – is this what we want in the WH?

My thoughts exactly. When has he had the time to formulate anything? Did he “commune” with his teleprompter and arrive at those principles?

(Psssst. Harry Reid is a partisan, political hack. He’s also an idiot. Pass it on.)

  16. Colonel1961 says:

What would de Tocqueville say about Harry Reid, et al.? That is, if he would even deign to discuss those electoral smurfs…

And JohnMG, I agree with your concise assessment above – and I pray for the hearts, minds, and souls of the voters who continue to send this socialist trash to the District.
