Harry Reid: No One Should Feel Sorry For Me

From the Politico:

Reid: Romney issue ‘nothing to do with me’

By DARREN GOODE | 8/6/12

LAS VEGAS — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wants no sympathy for the heat he’s taking over his unproven accusation about Mitt Romney’s taxes.

“No one should feel sorry for me,” Reid said in Las Vegas on Monday afternoon during a preview of a clean energy summit he’s hosting there Tuesday, even as his incendiary remarks about Romney have turned the GOP magnifying glass onto himself.

Who was offering him any sympathy? Who feels sympathy for ‘dirty liars’?

“The issue that I raised has nothing to do with me,” Reid told reporters.

Of course, since Reid made up the accusation out of whole cloth, it has everything to do with him.

“It has everything to do with the first presidential candidate in more than 30 years who refuses to show the American people his income tax returns.”

Which is another lie. Romney has released two years of tax returns, which is in line with several other Presidential candidates over the years. But apparently if you are a congenital liar like Harry Reid, you just can’t stop lying.

Reid wouldn’t provide any further details on the source of his claim that Romney didn’t pay taxes for a decade, or say whether his source will go public.

The Politico pretends there is a source. Harry Reid himself has said in his Huffington Post interview that it was one knowledgeable investor. On the Senate floor, Reid did not claim to have a source. He just said “the word is out.” Later, when speaking to Nevada reporters, Reid claims he had been told this by “a number of people.”

So even Reid can’t keep his story straight. Which is why liars should at the very least have good memories.

"I made my statement. The burden is not on me. It’s on Romney to produce his income tax returns," Reid told reporters, adding: “This man is running for president. We should know more about him.”

Mitt Romney has been on the national stage for decades. He was the governor of a major state.

Somehow we don’t recall Mr. Reid saying this about Barack Obama. (Though we do recall Reid calling Obama a "light-skinned" African American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.")

"Listen, Romney can solve this problem very quickly: Produce the tax returns."

Which sounds just like what the ‘Birthers’ used to be mocked for saying about Obama’s birth certificate.

Republicans have also made veiled and not-so-veiled hints that they’re prepared for an extended public discussion of Reid’s own finances.

Bring it on, Reid said.

“All you have to do is go look. I file every year, every stock trade, every piece of land I buy, all the money I have, it has the value of my homes, it’s got it all there,” Reid said.

Again, Harry Reid is a dirty liar. He failed to disclose his shady land deals numerous times.

If we had a real news media, they would have a field day. But we don’t have a real news media.

“So this is really a way to divert attention."

Again with the projection. This entire gambit has been nothing but an attempt to divert us from Obama’s economy.

"All my friends have stuck up for me on the Sunday shows and today,” he added.

Apparently, Reid has no friends, since no one has stuck up for him. But maybe they are as imaginary as his sources.

“So I’m confident that the American people believe that a candidate running for president of the United States, they should know if he has money buried in all these foreign accounts.

“It’s too bad that you folks haven’t focused on his tax returns,” Reid told reporters. “You shouldn’t focus on me.”

Perhaps we should focus on Mr. Reid. Perhaps the time has come to ask how such a ‘dirty liar’ is allowed to hold such a high position in our national government.

By the way, even the left leaning Politifact site has awarded Harry Reid their coveted "Pants on Fire!" rating for his lies:

Harry Reid on Tuesday, July 31st, 2012 in an interview with the Huffington Post said anonymous source told him Mitt Romney didn’t pay taxes for 10 years

Many readers asked us to put Reid’s claim to the Truth-O-Meter…

Our ruling

Reid has said Romney paid no taxes for 10 years. It was no slip of the tongue. He repeated the claim on at least two more occasions, at one point saying that "the word is out" when in fact it was only Reid who put that "word" out.

Reid has produced no evidence to back up his claim other than attribution to a shadowy anonymous source. Romney has denied the claim, and tax experts back him up, saying that the nature of Romney’s investments in Bain make it highly unlikely he would have been able to avoid paying taxes altogether — especially for 10 years.

Reid has made an extreme claim with nothing solid to back it up. Pants on Fire!

We still prefer ‘dirty liar.’

When is Harry Reid going to answer the charges of pederasty?

Well I for one do feel sorry for him. To go through life being such an odious, snivelling, panty waisted, unethical, hypocritical, lying, self aggrandizing, delusional slug has to be the most pathetic existence I can possibly imagine. He should be selling used cars 40 miles south of Reno in a polyester suit, not living in the ritz carlton and holding millions in assets he probably stole.
