Man with AK-47 assault rifle arrested after leaving Dearborn’s Hemlock Park
DEARBORN - Houssein Zorkot, a 26-year-old Dearborn resident, was arraigned Tuesday in 19th District Court on multiple felony charges, including carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent — a five-year felony.
Zorkot, a third-year medical student at Wayne State University, was allegedly armed with an AK-47 assault rifle and dressed in black clothing with camouflage paint covering his face when he was arrested Saturday in Hemlock Park.
According to police, Zorkot was observed attempting to leave the park in a black SUV after officers had received reports of a man carrying a rifle in the area. He was placed under arrest and is scheduled to undergo a preliminary examination at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 in 19th District Court.
Zorkot has also been charged with one count of possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle and one count of felony firearm. He remains in custody on a $1 million bond (cash, no 10 percent).

What is surprising is that someone in that part of Michigan would even notice, much less report someone running around in black camoflague with an AK-47. Isn’t that just kind of normal there? /sarc
Per his website, he’s a big fan of hezbollah. That alone should get him locked up until we toss him out of the country.

Come on, SG, you wouldn’t want to stomp on this man’s first amendment rights, would you?
Remember the guidelines for this sort of thing:
* If no attack occurs, he’s a pathetic wannabe with no real connection to terrorism or al Qaeda.
* If an attack occurs, it’s a phenomenal failure of our intelligence agencies, no matter how much they’ve been handcuffed by the courts.
If the statutes were written today, it would not be illegal to yell “fire” in a crowded theatre. That would just be unconstitutional.
I’m sure the Secret Service would agree; they must have one agent who does nothing else full time other than investigate threats against the President made on Daily Kos.

It is going to take a monumental attack to wake everyone up again, to shut the left up for a short while, to galvanize the country again against the only real threat that exists outside of total democratic control……and dorks like this are prime targets for Islamists who lick their chops at the thought of brainless idiots who will carry out the aforementioned attack for them.

I think you’ve nailed this guy, SG. Amazing that reporters don’t bother to google these perps - or perhaps their papers don’t want to look like they’re rushing to judgment (joke).
Took a look at his site and it really looks like he may have been setting up a “testament” so that when he was arrested - or killed himself rather than be captured, it would tell all about him. Almost all the photos of him on it show him looking away from the camera - a very “covered” and distracted look.
And the fact that he only bought the gun - is it really that easy to buy AK47s? - the day before - makes me wonder if he wasn’t planning to launch his “personal jihad” right then. Yikes.

If we don’t get a handle on all the slime like this POS getting into this country, we’re up a creek.
Also, why don’t we have a division or two do a sweep in the Dearbornistan and Detroitistan region to get these cretins out of our country? Good thing this “doctor” was an idiot. Had he kept his mouth shut and used his status as a medical student to work in Michigan hospitals, he could have racked up quite the Christian bodycount. No! He couldn’t think outside the box! It is very easy to cover up murder in hospitals, especially when sticking to society’s marginal people–the elderly, the infirm, children.
He could have worked for abortion clinics and told Mohammed that he was killing Christian terrorists!
No imagination at all. And he was educated, too! More and more, this seems to be a common theme with terrorists. Weren’t the lion’s share of the people involved in the recent bombing attempts on the airports in Scotland and England, doctors? I seem to recall other articles on this site involving Islamic doctors in Iraq doing questionable (to use British understatement) acts.

You know - DW & low profile just might be onto something - I think we (you know, the John and Jane Does who give an damn) must start thinking outside that box and try to figure out exactly why the sudden change to this run of terrorists being within the medical system. The prospects (such as low profile pointed out) are absolutely terrifying.
And we need to do it, as our crapweasels in DC are too busy formenting a new strategy to Impeach/Bring down evil bushitlerburtonco (in the what -15 months left) since their vile ad backfired on them.
Let us all ’suspend disbelief’ and start to figure out what these vile terrorists are up to. Before that next big attack occurs.

I realize this sounds like profiling…cuz it is…..but to abrogate the possibility of muslim or foreign doctors being allowed to do great harm to infidels…..boycott the bastards! Take your health needs to someone you are positive is from this country, not of middle eastern or a close resemblance, or a practicing devout muslim.
It is stark in it’s simplicity, and if us Jane and John Doe’s who give a damn actually refused to accept a doctor’s care who we arent positive of….they could not earn much of a living, could they?
This is one time where your choice my indeed cost you your life….but hey, I have to go feel bad because I made a gross generalization of middle eastern men between the ages of 18 and 50….namely the demographic of almost every terrorist who exists today.
Do your homework….find out all you can, and if you are suspicious of a medical professional with access to an acute care facility……out the SOB. Tell your friends! If you are wrong, oh well, you are a conservative. If you are correct, you may save someone’s life, albiet being labled a hateful xenophobic anti multi cultural minion of the Bush administration.

So now Islam is sending their best and brightest who could have the potential for real positive good for their communties to die as marytrs for some perveted cause.
World in the end will never fall to islam, because they will bleed themselves to death before that happens.
No wonder many fundamentalist muslim countries are total hellholes, you cannot build an economy when anyone with potential is off to die in a jihad. Give your inventors, healers, scholars and scientists yearning to die for “virgins” in heaven.
If in Europe they keep wanting special treatment and to seperate themselves from mainstream society. Governments in Europe may just do that, Hitler did t to the Jews, it was called the Nuremburg Laws, then the Ghettos, then Auchwitz. Muslims in Europe are more and more becoming a problem, a problem that one day some demoguge will offer a final solution for.

Good grief! Didn’t anyone do baskground checks on these Muslim terrorists when they were applying for medical school? I would hate to think that these terrorists were giving medical treatment to Americans and at the same time wishing they would die or dreaming of the day they will die.

Zorkot should explain to the judge listing his bail amount why stalking our parks with a loaded ak-47 is not considered a harmless pursuit. Of course, CAIR will be filing a defamation suit soonest.
