Hasan At Mosque With 9/11 Terrorists

From the UK’s Telegraph:

The Muslim Community Center, the mosque attended by Army Maj. Nidal M. Hasan when he lived in the area, is seen in Silver Spring, Md. on the evening of Friday, Nov. 6, 2009.

Fort Hood shooting: Texas army killer linked to September 11 terrorists

By Philip Sherwell and Alex Spillius
7 Nov 2009

Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt. His mother’s funeral was held there in May that year.

The preacher at the time was Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Yemeni scholar who was banned from addressing a meeting in London by video link in August because he is accused of supporting attacks on British troops and backing terrorist organisations.

Hasan’s eyes "lit up" when he mentioned his deep respect for al-Awlaki’s teachings, according to a fellow Muslim officer at the Fort Hood base in Texas, the scene of Thursday’s horrific shooting spree.

As investigators look at Hasan’s motives and mindset, his attendance at the mosque could be an important piece of the jigsaw. Al-Awlaki moved to Dar al-Hijrah as imam in January, 2001, from the west coast, and three months later the September 11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour began attending his services. A third hijacker attended his services in California.

Hasan was praying at Dar al-Hijrah at about the same time, and the FBI will now want to investigate whether he met the two terrorists.

Charles Allen, a former under-secretary for intelligence at the Department of Homeland Security, has described al-Awlaki, who now lives in Yemen, as an "al-Qaeda supporter, and former spiritual leader to three of the September 11 hijackers… who targets US Muslims with radical online lectures encouraging terrorist attacks from his new home in Yemen"…

Investigators at this stage have no indication that he planned the attacks with anyone else. But they are trawling through his phone records, paperwork and computers he used before the attack during an apparently sleepless night.

Five of the 13 victims were fellow mental health professionals from three units of the army’s Combat Stress Control Detachment, it was disclosed yesterday…

What does seem clear is that the army missed an increasing number of red flags that Hasan was a troubled and brooding individual within its ranks.

"I was shocked but not surprised by news of Thursday’s attack," said Dr Val Finnell, a fellow student on a public health course in 2007-08 who heard Hasan equate the war on terrorism to a war on Islam. Another student had warned military officials that Hasan was a "ticking time bomb" after he reportedly gave a presentation defending suicide bombers…

But let’s not jump to any conclusions.

Surprise. The “fellow Muslim” didn’t mention Hasan’s extremism to anyone until people died. Let me get this straight: A military man knows a major who supports extremism and likely Al Qaeda, the enemy. The major will soon to be deployed to Iraq – but the man doesn’t report the security issue because they share the same religion. The problem with moderate Muslims, in a nutshell.

How far we have fallen. I can’t wait to vote the PC crowd out.

An incompetent President, who can not keep America safe, would say “we will never know” why this man did this act. But, since Obama has more personal experience, as a former muslim, we know he is lying. I also know he is lying, because when the federal governement always makes this type statement, it means they want it swept under the rug, do not want to be accountable, nor wish to take any action to correct the threat. Obama will not call for any increase of security, or evaluations, because this would be a sign, that he knows there is a security problem.

Charles Allen, “”a former”” under-secretary for intelligence at the Department of Homeland Security. The department of Homeland Security was created after 9/11. The new Department of Homeland is too busy watching Conservatives, anti-abortionists, Tea party goers, and people that watch FOX.

      How true!
I’m tired of hearing/seeing they’re still searching for a motive. How disingenuous! The guy made his feelings known multiple times ahead of time! But rest assured, they’ll end up blaming this on “stress” he suffered from “harrassment” (according to his RELATIVES, of course).

Instead of Obama hailing the hero cop, he will invite her to the WH for a beer summit, and tell her she is a racist cop, that should have noticed the Doctor worked there. She should ask for a glass, stand up, trip forward, and toss it in obombie’s face. After all, her shooting hand was shot, and legs shot. It’s hard for me to believe his cousing laughing that he was afraid to shoot guns. Plus, they keep showing some muslim colleage saying he was a gentle kind man. Oh, and a mosque he attended daily for 5 years, no one knew him. Yeah right.

Why aren’t we looking at this as being the attack that security experts say was inevitable? Just because there were no airplanes of modes of transportation used as weapons, this was an attack against America, as sure as the attacks of 9/11 were. The loss of life is no less tragic … why isn’t the military on high alert? All I keep hearing is “We can’t jump to conclusions,” and that this isn’t about a Muslim attack on America—It’s about an angry man who is against the war against Islam.”

This overwhelming “tolerance” for all things NOT American is going to destroy us. George Washington, the founding fathers, and any man who died in the Revolutionary War is certainly turning over in his grave. Truly sad times for our nation …

We are in a war for the American way of life, and we are losing the battle.

Cali, I read the military CID agents at his side are mum. FBI has jurisdiction over his off-post computer, phone records, etc. but unless they can tie in accomplishment to terrorist connections, the military’s negligence is playing dumb, they are powerful as far as actions against them.

AP: Some saw trouble ahead with Fort Hood shooter
By Angela K. Brown And Richard Lardner, Oct 8 2009
FORT HOOD, Texas –…signs of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan’s growing anger over the U.S. wars seem unmistakable…his increasingly strident views..comments that the war on terror was “a war on Islam” …

Dr. Val Finnell, who complained to administrators at a military university about what he considered Hasan’s “anti-American” rants… where Hasan persistently complained …and injected his politics into courses where they had no place.
“In retrospect, I’m not surprised he did it,” Finnell said… what his beliefs were.”

Hasan, … was in intensive care but breathing on his own late Saturday
At least 17 victims remained hospitalized with gunshot wounds, ..nine were in intensive care

Military criminal investigators… “We have not established a motive for the shootings at this time,” said Army Criminal Investigative Command spokesman Chris Grey.

Hasan’s family described a man incapable of the attack, calling him a devoted doctor and devout Muslim… a man who was forcefully opposed to the wars in Iraq and Afganistan…

“I told him, `There’s something wrong with you,'” Osman Danquah, co-founder of the Islamic Community of Greater Killeen

Danquah assumed the military’s chain of command knew about Hasan’s doubts,..classmates at the Maryland graduate military medical program… complained to the faculty about Hasan’s anti-American propaganda,” but said,”…

~~ fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim student kept officers from filing a formal complaint.~~

Danquah said, Hasan asked him what to tell soldiers who expressed misgivings about fighting fellow Muslims. The retired Army first sergeant and Gulf War veteran said he reminded Hasan that these soldiers had volunteered to fight, and that Muslims were fighting each other in Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Palestinian territories.

he said. “It would be like a person playing the devil’s advocate”
I said, “Look. I’m not impressed by you.'” Danquah said he was disturbed by Hasan’s…

Hasan reportedly jumped up on a desk and shouted “Allahu akbar!” —

  7. Aw, you know the drill: Conclusions can only be jumped to if Hasan had espoused conservative politics or embraced the Christian religion.

    Or listened to talk radio.

The military doesn’t even have to let the witnesses testify. They’ll have Hasan crying he was called a camel jockey. So, then children will kill someone when they are called a name. An example has to be made, that you can’t kill, because someone told you they don’t trust serving with you when you make anti-American statements. The Obama klan has called Republicans cowards, murderers, astro-turf, terrorists. All the muslim U.S. soldiers who make anti-American comments, will cause major tension for out troops. Muslim U.S. soldiers may consider Hasan a hero, and copy cat him. Don’t forget hasan considered the muslim killing recruits at Little Rock a hero. Murder by proxy, is what Hasan considered to stop the war. Obama is just letting our soldiers die, serving muslims tea.

  9. U NO HOO says:

Let me ask this, did the guy who killed the abortionist in Kansas(?) yell the trinity is great, the Pope is good? I don’t believe so, the guy was a murderer.

I rest my case, Hasan is a fundalmentalist hard line Mohamadan terrrorist. Mohamadans who don’t kill are the radicals.

  10. Petronius says:

The Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center and mosque, where Hasan received his indoctrination, is actually located in Falls Church, Virginia, not Great Falls, Va.

Dar al-Hijrah was not only home to three of the 9-11 hijackers. It is also currently home to many of the 6,000 Somali “refugees” who inhabit the Washington DC suburbs.

Some of these Somalis have returned to Africa for terrorist training. Then they rotate back into the USA after completing their training.

    http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=98997

These Somalis also work as staffers and functionaries for the local Democrat Party in liberal Northern Virginia.

John Muhammad, the Beltway Sniper, hid out in the area during his 2002 shooting spree in which he shot 13 people, killing 10.

I’ll let you connect the dots.

So how’s that diversity working out for you, America? Ain’t Liberalism grand?

  11. Tater Salad says:

This Muslim Moron Killer also had ties to the Obama adminstration. Question: Will Obama now invite all Iman’s in the United Socialist States of America over to the White House for a beer?

  12. beautyofreason says:

So we have the largest terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11.

And today’s Obama – loving media, as well as the president were primarily concerned that people don’t make any prejudiced connections between this man’s rampage and radical Islam.

That enabling poor-me bile would have never made it on the news right after the 9/11 attacks.

    • caligirl9 says:

Except for whatever reason, no one other than people like us look at this as being an act of terrorism, even if Hasan cannot be linked to any current “organizations.”

      He’s his own terrorist.

It will be interesting to see what he ends up charged with, and how much governmental interference from the White House (and maybe the UN) there will be. Can’t jump to conclusions about Hasan’s support of radical Islam. He’s just misunderstood …

  13. Chuckk says:

There is no evidence that the great religion of peace, Islam, is doing anything to heal itself from within. I wonder why? Maybe it is not a religion of peace.

    • beautyofreason says:

I suspect it has something to do with the fact that most mosques in the United States are funded or provided imams from Saudi Arabia, in addition to the traditional Islamic disdain for Western culture and a lack of desire to integrate into non-Muslim cultures.

Also note that Islam, unlike many other large religions, demands strict political rules including Shariah law theocracies, everywhere. There is no way to be tolerant within such a system because there is no real equality or room for individual dissent. Everything is kind of said and done. It all starts, and ends with Mohammad. There is no way to “reform” Islam because its proponents consider it perfect and unalterable.

Its because we are not actually fighting! They are counting on it too….from Oblamy on down.
