Alcee: There Ain’t No Rules Around Here

This clip is actually from a couple of days ago.

But it really is the perfect expression of how we came to get ‘healthcare reform’:

Alcee Hastings: "All This Talk About Rules… We Make ‘Em Up As We Go Along…"

"The fact of the matter is that a lot of our fellow Americans are hurting, and they don’t have affordable health care. And for the life of me I cannot understand why we all should not be willing to share in order to help the least of us.

I wish that I had been there when Thomas Edison made the remark that I think applies here: "There ain’t no rules around here, we’re trying to accomplish something."

And therefore, when the deal goes down, all this talk about rules, we make them up as we go along, and I’m here now 18 years and a significant amount of that time here on this committee under the leadership of the Republicans who at no time even when they claimed all they did for the prescription drugs, they left that the big old donut hole in, and they never talk about the fact that they did not pay for it, while they are here now becoming fiscal conservatives."

Actually, to our mind the most disturbing line here is this one:

“I cannot understand why we all should not be willing to share in order to help the least of us.”

For once again it proves that none of this is about ‘healthcare reform.’ It is and has always been all about income redistribution.

To be fair, income redistribution is something near and dear to Mr. Hastings’ heart.

For lest we forget, back in 1981, then Federal Judge Hastings was charged with accepting a $150,000 bribe in exchange for a lenient sentence and the return of seized assets for 21 counts of racketeering by Frank and Thomas Romano, and of perjury in his testimony about the case.

In 1988, the (Democrat controlled) House of Representatives impeached by a vote of 413-3.

He was then convicted in 1989 by the Senate, becoming only the sixth federal judge in the history of the United States to be removed from office by the Senate.

So the man knows all about sharing the wealth.

He also knows that for Democrats there are no rules.

There is no expedient to which a man will not go to avoid the labor of thinking.

    –Thomas Edison

    Clearly, Mr. Hastings wasn’t there.

There are many hard and fast rules for success. The trouble is all are hard and none are fast.

Because the ends justifies the means. (Sol Alinsky)

Forced, being the key word here, income redistribution. Call it what it is, Marxism.

So .. why is this man in ANY public office with his history???

I’m guessing his conviction in the Senate must’ve (???) made him a felon(???).

Felons lose their right to vote.

Oooooooooops! Sorry. Forgot. He’s a democrat.
