I’ll get the beer, Dez. I hope she stays in the race and battles for every last vote, every last superdelegate, insists on new elections in Michigan and Florida so that no one is disenfranchised, and makes a total massacre of the nomination process. Then I pray she goes into the convention and churns that into a bloody mess also.

She’s getting so desperate; I really think this tactic is going to bury her further. Such a shame; I really was hoping the Democrats would go to convention just as divided as they are now.

Rush is saying that her staying in the campaign longer will do more damage to the dem party. As a Clinton loather for more than 10 years, I just want her out. I want her down. I want her defeated. I want her humiliated. ASAP.
Here’s to all Texas Republicans voting for Obama on March 5th!!!!

I think she believes that she can say whatever she wants and it will not matter because she will do whatever she has to to get the nomination. Lie, cheat, and steal— her secret motto. But please Lord tell me she wasn’t trying to be funny. She must have THE single absolute worst sense of humour I have ever heard. Well, it will be a tedious and hopefully not too damaging four years. Good time to catch up on some reading.

NotStuckOnStupid;
I don’t know any Tx Republicans who are going to vote Democrat. We also have primaries for lower offices; sheriff, judges, state representatives. While the primary is open, you have to declare for a ballot, Republican or Democrat. Why would Gop’ers give up voting for lower offices just to slam Hillary? That dumb. Also, there are two motions on the Republican ballot this year: one to require local and state law enforcement to enforce federal immigration laws and another to require a photo I.D. when voting. That is important to Republicans in this state as we currently are supporting over 2 million illegals.
There is also the thing about the caucuses later that evening. They are to determine delegates to first the county convention and from there, delegates are chosen for the state convention. Each party has it’s own state convention. Once you declare for either party, you cannot switch to be a delegate. National delegates are chosen from the state convention. So don’t look for a lot of help for the Messiah in Texas unless there is no lower primaries or a person doesn’t want to be a local/state delegate.
While we may not have any use for Hillary, we won’t throw our votes away just to defeat her.
But I do know a number of Democrats that are switching this year because they hate Hillary and think Obama is dangerous. I also think that if Obama takes the Tx. primary, in the general election he will lose the Hispanic vote here and they will either not vote in the general, or will vote McCain. The biggest black voter block will come from Houston, Shiela Jackson Lee’s district, and I think she has come out for Hillary (but I could be wrong on that as I try to ignore that lunatic).
Remember, Texas Democrats (except those from Austin-Travis County) are pretty conservative. They are FDR, Truman, JFK Democrats, not George McGovern Democrats. Texas also has a high rate of sons/daughters in the military and they are not going to vote for someone who doesn’t appreciate the services and sacrifices of their children.
I live in a primarily “D” county. While there are a few R’s who could not care less about lower offices, we just had our “D” sheriff indicted and there is a big push to put an “R” in the sheriff’s office. Can’t do that if we vote for Obama.

Personally, I thought this was hilarious. I’ve had quite a laugh these last few days, needling my Democratic colleagues, remarking on the great irony that it took a “fellow traveler” like Hillary to really tap into my feelings toward Senator Obama. Needless to say, my colleagues do not share my amusement.
You know there have to be some old-time Democrats just clawing their eyes out in exasperation. All these years, they imagined that if they just articulated their “ideas” & “policies” clearly, the American people would flock to them. Alas, they have been wrong. But all their “ideas” of the last 40 years haven’t been the problem. It’s not their “policies” that the American people have rejected time and time again. It’s their demeanor, their tone, their unwillingness to embrace “hope” and “change” and…and…smile…and…stuff.
Leave it to a Democrat to perfect hypocrisy, claiming to speak for the “little guy” while never truly saying anying, claiming he represents “change” when what little record he has places him firmly within the New Left American voters have repeatedly rejected, claiming he and only he can bring “hope” to the most powerful, prosperous, dynamic, innovative, and FREE nation this planet has ever known.
Y’know, when I was 9, I hoped I would get a bike for Christmas. When I was 15, I hoped my dad would help me buy that beautiful red truck we saw on the way home from the State Championship, a game I had hoped my team would win in the days and hours before we did. When I was 22, I hoped I hadn’t waited too long to go to college. I hoped my grades and ACT would be high enough to get me in. I hoped I could find a way to pay for it. I hoped I would have the ability to do well, the skill to distinguish myself, the determination to graduate. When I was 27, I hoped I wouldn’t trip over my robes as the Dean handed me my diploma. When I was 29, I hoped she wouldn’t say no.
I don’t remember looking for Barack Obama, or anyone else, to teach or remind me how to hope.
So when HIllary Clinton mocked the empty rhetoric of a one term senator who’s voting record is only slightly to the right of “Uncle Joe” Stalin, I found myself laughing with her (as opposed to AT her) for the first time in my life. She put into words the feelings of utter contempt I and others like me have felt toward the Senator’s sycophantic pandering toward that great bane of American politics; the uneducated, unthinking, unabashedly servile American Idiot; the kind of person who cares more about the next American Idol than the next American President…before Obama; the kind of person who couldn’t be bothered to pay attention to the election because “it’s all so BORING”…before Obama; the kind of person that could give you a concise history of the Oscars, but couldn’t locate their state, or even the United States, on a map…before Obama; the kind of person who would look me in the eye in utter, starry-eyed astonishment at my objection to Obama, and who’s only retort to my carefully and clearly articulated rejection of the Senator was to sniffle and whine “But don’t you hate war?”
I’ve never been one to share the view of the political elite that the American voter is essentially stupid and easily manipulated. It’s been my experience that most people who vote on a regular basis are quite well informed, and form their opinions around issues or ideology, both of which have some merit as they both require a fair and careful degree of thought. I used to be of the opinion that it would be a good thing if more people voted, and for the most part, I retain that opinion. However, Senator Obama has helped teach me a valuable lesson…the political elite has a point. There is a segment of the voting population that really IS stupid and easily manipulated. Obamamania is all the evidence I will ever need of that. For the love of God, they cheer when he sneezes!
So, thank you Hillary Clinton. For at least this one time, you and I are on the same page.

Beautifully said, invertigo. Even people like Hillary get it right once in ten million times. Here’s another:
“Half of Americans haven’t read a newspaper, half haven’t voted for president. Let’s hope it’s the same half.” - Gore Vidal

“Beautifully said, invertigo.”
I concur, Helena.
“So when HIllary Clinton mocked the empty rhetoric of a one term senator who’s voting record is only slightly to the right of “Uncle Joe” Stalin, I found myself laughing with her (as opposed to AT her) for the first time in my life. ”
Invertigo, I am in 100% agreement with every word that you said! LOL
I also think that every positive phase of person’s life starts with “HOPE”. It’s your inspiration, your mission statement. Do people really need Obama to define their “hope”???? If so, that is truly sad and scary! Then, it HAS become a “church”, so to speak.
