Despite Photo, Hillary Doesn’t Know Rezko
From Chicago Sun-Times:
I don’t know Rezko, Clinton says after photo surfaces
January 25, 2008
“Today” show host Matt Lauer asked presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton on Friday if she has a connection to indicted developer Tony Rezko after flashing an undated photo of the two posing with President Bill Clinton.
“You were attacking Senator Obama, in particular, his work connected to what was a so-called a slumlord in Chicago, a guy named Tony Rezko,” Lauer said. “You can’t see what I’m going put up on the screen … but it is a picture of you and your husband Bill Clinton posing with that same man.”
Lauer said he they were unable to verify when the photo was taken, but it most likely happened during Bill Clinton’s presidency.
Clinton said she did not remember taking the picture and said she doesn’t even remember meeting Rezko.
“I’ve probably taken hundreds of thousands of pictures,” Clinton said. “I don’t know the man, I wouldn’t know him if he walked in the door, I don’t have a 17-year-relationship with him.” …
Whom should we believe? Mrs. Clinton — or our lying eyes?
At the very least it is a safe assumption that Mr. Rezko didn’t get that photo for nothing.
There must have been some sizeable donation given before he had the honor of being capture for all of history with both of these titans.

This is the “blowback” Hillary risked by bringing up Rezko in the first place…..

Please don’t misread this as a defense of the Clintons but I can think of about a dozen pictures from my wedding that I have no idea who those people are. Still accepted the wedding gifts though…

From (one of the dozens of Hillary’s websites) the Fact Hub:
Too bad Mr. Obama’s camp doesn’t have any similar material on the Clintons.
But as we all know, their public lives have been lived without a single blemish.

SG….interesting that it comes from a Hillary website. I guess she can say just about anything she wants to say, acknowledge or deny anything she wants to. In the end, it really all depends on what the meaning of “never contributed a dime” means. I could mean……he contributed a million nickels, or a million dollars, which technically, is not a “dime”.
I did think her reaction to the question from Lauer this morning was priceless though. I really don’t think she saw it coming and she had the look of someone who just crapped her pants.

Makes me think of an old Paul Shanklin routine I heard once, with the press following Biilzebubba around the jogging track…
“Mr. President, Mr. President! What about Rwanda?”
“I don’t know her, I never met her, I wasn’t in a hotel room with her, everything she says is a complete lie, the–the book is not true, Hillary will back me up on this, I was never alone with her…..”

I don’t know the man, I wouldn’t know him if he walked in the door,
When have any of her friends ever walked upright? All of them slither along the floor just like she does…

Since it didn’t get any traction during the debate, the Clinton camp probably released the photo themselves as a way of pushing the story of Obama’s connection while giving them deniability.

Deniability? I think I’ve heard that word before in connection with the Clintons. While they seem to deny everything they have done. They also claim to have the most experience.
It seems to me if you have to deny things that there is proof you have done, that is probably not the experience the nation needed. Unless there is proof that one has learned from their experience. In Hillary’s case, that proof does not exist, IMO.
