RE: The Obama Record: Just WordsYesterday, a Pennsylvania editorial board asked Sen. Clinton how she would have "responded if [her] pastor had said some of the things that Rev. Wright said?" In response, she said Rev. Wright would not have been her pastor, an honest view shared by many Americans.
The Obama campaign’s response? Attack Sen. Clinton and accuse her of trying to divert attention from the Bosnia trip story and her record of foreign policy experience.
Sen. Clinton’s response was sincere. The Obama attack was disingenuous.
We are happy to discuss Sen. Clinton’s foreign policy experience and her record overall. Unfortunately, the Obama campaign doesn’t want to discuss its candidate’s record and prefers personal attacks instead.
Sen. Obama knows that if he focused on his experience, he’d get questions about the shortcomings in his record and the efforts he has made to embellish it.
He’d have to deal with the fallout from this week’s Washington Post report on his gross exaggeration of his role on immigration reform and housing policy.
Sen. Obama would have to explain why the New York Times reported that he claims credit for passing nuclear leak legislation that never got out of committee.
He’d have to confront reports from FactCheck.org and other independent organizations that say his claims of providing a universal health care plan are based on selective, embellished and out-of-context quotes from newspapers.
He’d have to discuss the LA Times story that reported on how his fellow organizers say he took too much credit for his community organizing efforts.
He’d have to explain why he regularly claims he was a law professor when in fact he held no such title.
Sen. Obama seems to think disingenuous attacks on Sen. Clinton will address the concerns voters have about his record and readiness to be the Commander-in-Chief and the steward of our economy. They won’t.
In the end, Sen. Obama’s words cannot erase Hillary’s 35-year record of action because when all is said and done, words aren’t action. They are just words.
It really is to laugh.

Obama to Disown Pastor If Hillary Dumps Bill

(2008-03-27) — Sen. Barack Obama, the Democrat presidential front runner, today reiterated his intention to stand by his controversial pastor despite his presidential rival’s remarks that she would have left the church where the Rev. Jeremiah Wright preached racially-charged, anti-American messages.
“I could no more disown my hateful, racist, self-aggrandizing, crazy uncle of a pastor,” said Sen. Obama, “than Hillary Clinton could quit her deceitful, adulterous, self-aggrandizing husband. But if a purging must happen to unite this divided party, I say to my esteemed opponent, ‘You first, Hillary. You first.’”
Sen. Clinton said this week that she would have quit Trinity United Church of Christ, noting that “you don’t choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend.”
“Apparently, Sen. Clinton was not only victim of an unfaithful husband,” said Sen. Obama, “but also the victim of an arranged marriage — stuck with a husband she did not choose.”

Just a few random observations on this piece.

Oh, really? The former can be accomplished any time, any place, merely by opening one’s mouth and uttering the words. All it takes is guts and some will power. That shouldn’t be too hard for such an accomplished orator, BO. The latter is more a matter for the court to decide through a civil action. (I do think it was a funny come-back, though.)

BHO apparently is confused about this too. He has disassociated himself from those persons of his family he finds inconvenient to acknowledge, yet likens his church and pastor to family…..

…..while believing choosing a spouse is the same as choosing blood relatives.
When I was in VietNam I had a friend who said, “You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose……but you can’t pick your friend’s nose”. I think that just about sums this pissing match up. But is there is anything I can do to keep this dust-up going, just let me know. It’s great theater. ;-}

You know the only sad thing about this whole he said/she said, he did/she did mess? Is that the msm is focusing on the comments and responses - not on any of the candidates beliefs, values and plans for if/when they become the President.
It is the dumbing down of the election process now taken to an even lower level than most previous levels - we are onto now - who lied the most and about the worst thing. . .
How about some ideas, some debates (as boring as those damn things were), some intelligence, common sense and real politics injected into this circus. . .
I know I’m dreaming but hey this is America - it’s stll legal isn’t it?
