Hillary Says 2000 Election Was Stolen

From the New York Post:

HILLARY UTTERS GAFFE REGARDING 2000 ELECTION DURING NIGERIA VISIT

By CLEMENTE LISI

August 13, 2009

Hillary Clinton’s trip across Africa just got more controversial.

Clinton caused another firestorm during her trouble-plagued Africa tour last night by drawing comparisons between political corruption in Nigeria and President Bush’s contested election win nine years ago in Florida.

The Secretary of State made the bizarre comparison during a speech to a group of political activists in the Nigerian capitol of Abuja, another stop on her 11-day, seven-country tour of the continent.

She singled out former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush — the former president’s brother — with helping the GOP grab the White House from Democrat Al Gore.

"Our democracy is still evolving. You know we had some problems in some of our presidential elections," she said. "As you may remember, in 2000 our presidential election came down to one state where the brother of one of the men running for president was governor of the state. So we have our problems too." …

We hate to contradict the famed headline writers at the New York Post. But Hillary did more than utter a gaffe. She enunciated one of her most deeply held beliefs.

Or rather, given that Mrs. Clinton really has no beliefs, let’s call it one of her favorite political lies.

Indeed, it was only a few short years ago (2006) that she said a remarkably similar claim about the 2004 elections to those great champions of fair and honest ballot, ACORN, as we noted at the time:

Remarks of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton at ACORN’s 2006 National Convention

July 10, 2006

That was so nice, oh, thank you all, thank you. Good Morning ACORN.

My goodness, this place is filled. All of you coming together on behalf of a progressive agenda for our country; and I came first and foremost to say thank you. You know, I am one of those who remembers the beginnings of ACORN in Arkansas all of those years ago. The headquarters for ACORN was near the Governor’s mansion. And I started a group called Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families and we worked on a lot of important issues and I noticed just the other day that the minimum wage was raised in Arkansas thanks to ACORN and the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families…

Now there’s so many important issues that we’ve got to tackle in our country, isn’t there? But the only way we can do that is if we get people in government who will actually listen. So I want to add another item to your agenda which I know you’re already working on across the country – let’s make sure that we count every vote in our elections from now until we finally get people elected who represent the will and interests of the American people. I have legislation called just that, Count Every Vote Act. My good friend Stephanie Tubbs Jones whose going to be with you at the minimum wage rally. She and I held a hearing in Cleveland last year. It would have broken your heart. People were lined up to tell us how they showed up to vote and they had to wait hours. No machines. You know, you could drive down the road however and there were plenty of machines. It depended on who lived where and what their potential voting patterns were. That is not America. I don’t care whether you’re a Republican, a Democrat, an Independent or hate politics, this country deserves to have an electoral system that has integrity, that has the trust of the people, whose results we can believe in.

And I know that’s been a problems here in Ohio. And I hope that everybody in Ohio, you watch this election like a hawk. Don’t let them pull anything over your eyes again. I mean, I find it amazing that one of the people running for high office is actually running the elections. That should not be permitted, that is a conflict of interest. You know, it used to be we would look at other countries and we’d say, oh gosh they can’t run an election. Well wow, they’re putting us to shame a lot of other countries are. We’ve got to take back our democracy. You know our democracy doesn’t belong to any one political party. It doesn’t belong to people who are already are privileged or powerful, it belongs to everyone. And we’ve got to reassert that now. And the only way we can is by electing people who believe as we believe that America’s values are worth standing up for, America’s ideals are worth standing there and fighting for. And we have to begin in this November electing people to Congress and state offices who will listen to the people and will begin to get America back on track so that we can make the right decisions going forward. We’re going to need your help in these elections in November, because unless we take back one or both houses of Congress, we will not be able to stop the agenda of the right wing Republicans, the Bush Republicans, in Washington…

Isn’t irony ironic?

(Thanks to BillK for the heads up.)

Here’s a little story that’s getting next to no press, from the New York Post:

Has she just lost it altogether?

Just when I thought the left had finally given the 2000 election a rest, here they go bringing it up again. When will they stop beating a dead horse and finally move on? Hell! They’ve got all the power they’ve ever dreamed of now. What will it take to finally make these people happy? I know what’ll make me happy, seeing these fools voted out of office in 2010. I hope they get tossed out so fast that they think they had roller skates on their ass.

Perhaps Hillary should clarify. I propose asking:

    Hillary, what does Bill think?

  4. Grzegorz

That was no “gaffe”; the Hildabeast really means it.

  5. proreason

They hate the messy inconvenience of elections.

Once their iron-grip closes on the American people, they will be able to do away with that silly nonsense.

And rule as the aristocrats they were born to be.

  6. Liberals Demise

Will someone please tell the “Smartest” skank that we are a “Republic” and not a democracy.
As for her statement to the 501c3 Charity gimme crowd………someone needs to kick her “ACORNS”.

  7. TwilightZoned

Again, another page from the libtard playbook. Just because you say it, doesn’t make it true. Nor does repeating it make it true. However, if you are gullible and believe everything said or printed without questioning it…you are one of the suckers born every minute.

  8. MinnesotaRush

Great! More of the shameless trivle about how flawed America is. And .. on foreign soil. And .. from our “representatives”. Damn them!

These people are shameless and despicable!

As they continue to try and extinquish this beacon of liberty and freedom .. I wonder if they’ve thought of what, or who, will replace it?

  9. George W Bush was one of the best American Presidents for African Continent.

America…a democracy, The US has 57 states…The dimocraps can’t seem to read the bills before signing…!

And of course there is way too many more goofs the left has given us…not to mention the “ordinary street libs” who can’t even tell you who is who in government…or what they stand for…but think Obalmy is just plain wonderful.

And THEY think THEY are the bright ones, and WE are the stupid ones.

If it wasn’t for the ordinary street conservs reading the bill themselves and demanding answers we would have a death filled health care bill right now.

But they are the brilliant ones. Can it get to be more of a farce?

BTW…what in the heck is Hillary doing with that right hand? Fleas?

Like not counting military votes in 2000 and 2008 election’s.

    • catie

Canary, you know military votes aren’t worth counting according to 99% of the liberals. WTH, they’ll just vote for Republicans anyway.
      Hillary, give it up.

  12. Rusty Shackleford

Well, like any prima-donna, she’s still angry at Blammo’s “masterful” marginalization of her. She’s getting wind of her supporters bitching and moaning “Where’s Hillary” in that “Where’s Waldo” kind of place mat game.

So she’s come into the stalls and kicked up a few road apples and made herself known. “I’m still here g-d-dammit” in her typical even-tempered, diplomatic style. Admittedly, she has managed to keep her tantrums down to a dull roar.

But Hillary, got some news for you. Now that you’re out in the real world..which is a good thing, I must admit, for now you see that it doesn’t revolve around you, that .0000000000000000000000001% of the world’s population give a crap that you exist and even fewer know you’re alive. They know about Bill-Jeff because he was the slick huckster who got some in the oval office…which many people in the world look upon with sarcastic pleasure. They don’t care about you, good or bad.

As to your “gaffe”…I think you meant to say, “THIS election was stolen” ….from YOU. You are ticked off and it shows. You’ve never been good at being a good loser, and loser is what describes you best. Even your hubby, in an effort to maintain the sham marriage, acquiesced and let you introduce legislation to congress. Whoa, Nelly….that was some trick. And all just for you, you stinking steaming pile of intellectual uselessness.

Go away, Hillary. You’re ugly and your momma dresses you funny.
